ARCHIVED Glutino Pizza Sticks
Jnkmnky replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Open Original Shared Link Glutano makes the Break Bars. They are great. The shipping from the gluten free mall is too high. Try to find them someplace else if you can. The hazelnut chocolate bars are delish as well. The chocolate O's are good but hard. Leave the bag open for a day or two to soften them up. -
I never feel bad or picked on by people who disagree with me. As for what I highlighted in blue.... The person who is affected decides when theat point is.. not you or me or anyone else. That's my opinion. He came here sort of asking permission to do something he clearly understood would be not the best choice. I was reminding him that he doesn't need...

I read on that DrJ site that Celiac Disease is wiping out some breeds of dogs... like the irish setter.

ARCHIVED Glutino Pizza Sticks

It's not even funny how lame my WholeFoods is. I have 2 wholefoods, 2 henry's, 1 boney's, 1 trader joe's, 1 jimbo's AND NO GLUTINO products at any. I mean, c'mon! I have to order Kinnikinnick on line as well as Chebe because none carry the products. ONCE in a while I can find kinnikinnick breads but never the flavor we want. And maybe three times a year... -
ARCHIVED Trying To Understand, So Forgive Me!
Jnkmnky replied to a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I don't think you need to have clinical Celiac to have trouble with Gluten. Have you read the book "Dangerous Grains"? It's at Amazon if you're interested. In the book, they explain how gluten is very difficult for our bodies to break down. That the main reason we're all eating the gluten grains is that they're easy to mass produce and ship around the... -
My celiac is a boy. The only thing I'm careful about topically speaking, is his chapstick. I think lipstick or for boys - chapstick- would be the most dangerous way to pick up 'applied' gluten.

Yeah, and when the child has a head filled with a numbed buzzing sound for the first three years of life, it's amazing what "delays" will manifest! My son is very smart, but he existed in a hazy fog of a world from birth to three years of age. He's going to be a little different as a result. He has a wicked imagination and interprets events in unique ways... -
ok, fine. I'll take back my "make your own decision" comment to a 75 year old who understands the consequences of his actions. I will stick with reminding people that it is NOT healthy to cheat. SkiJoe... cheating will cause harm to your body. That is undeniable. Do not cheat. I condone cheating after a certain point in life, but that is not what this...

At your age and with your symptoms, you should do what you want. If a pizza every three months doesn't hurt you (so that you notice) too much... I think you should do what you want. No one here will tell you anything you don't already know. Try it. If it's more uncomfortable than you thought it would be, you won't even want to do it again. If it turns...

ARCHIVED Glutino Pizza Sticks

It's my daughter's best friend who hates chocolate.. not MY child. Yes, I'd have had a DNA test run if my kid hated chocolate! -

Oh well. Everyone's different. We really like them. My daughter's best friend hates chocolate.... now that I have trouble understanding. -
Everyone is dealing with something. Wheelchairs, celiac, arthritis, blindness, weight, mental, ... every breathing person on the planet has something they can point to. It is right to tell her to learn to deal with it. Life is much easier if you aren't reduced to self-pity over your challenges. Your hurt feelings are not going to help you in any way....

ARCHIVED Glutino Pizza Sticks
Jnkmnky replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We all like the sticks. I wish they'd make them in the shape of goldfish. They're practically the same thing tastewise. My wholefoods is the worst in the country. I ask and ask and they NEVER get in Chebe, glutino products, or Kinnikinnick products. Some K products once in a blue moon is supposed to keep me from b%$@#ing...but just made me give up. ... -

Open Original Shared Link This site has the glutino pizza and sesame sticks as well as the glutino blueberry/apple/chocoate cereal bars. Normal high prices but REASONABLE shipping. I can't find these two products in any store near me... though I've asked numerous times for them to be ordered... They are very good products. If you can't find them in... -
ARCHIVED Well I Just Found Out I Have Celiac Disease
Jnkmnky replied to Baston8005's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The autoimmune diseases associated with celiac disease are far more scary than the restrictions celiac disease impose. If you're soon to be a dad, you're going to want to be healthy a good long time to enjoy running, playing ball, swimming, hide and seek, lugging a stroller in and out of a car. Is restricting gluten from your diet going to have a negative... -

Vincent- that's a little unnerving. Have you had him evaluated for autism? Do you feel it may be necessary? My son is not autistic, but I was really afraid he was..at leat mildly. 4days gluten free is when he strung his first words together for coherent sentences. But the lack of speaking, the lack of mental clarity contributed to his speech delays and... -

Your kid sounds just like mine! Same symptoms of glutening. If he just had the gastro events with gluten, drs would not give me that "hairy eye" stare when we get talking about my son. It drives me nuts how people... drs... don't know the full spectrum of disorders that go along with celiac disease. Even my son's new teacher sends vibes that I think... -
ARCHIVED Halloween Treats And Trick Or Treating
Jnkmnky replied to aberglund's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I gave out glow sticks for Halloween last year. I found them at the 99cent store. packages of 12 for 99cents!! I cracked them all a smidge in advance and had about 100 in a bowl with me outside on my patio for the trick or treaters. They loved it. They picked a favorite color and ran off waving it down the street. -

YIKES! I get a few gluten-free bags of candy to give out and remove a dozen or so of those gluten-free candies to use for trading with my celiac kid. His brother and sister trade with him too, and it all seems to work out fine. I monitor so that there's no taking advantage going on. A bite sized snickers for a bite sized milky way is fair... you know... -
Open Original Shared Link We don't eat soy. There's lots refuting the benefits of soy. Getting rid of soy was way more difficult than going gluten-free.

ARCHIVED Hidden Gluten, Can You Spot Mine?
Jnkmnky replied to Matilda's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just the ground beans from Starbuck's? The java chips and vanilla beans contain gluten. If you're getting made frapucinno/whatever, they make them and I'd think there could be cross contamination concerns. -
ARCHIVED Should I Be Worried?

Gluten free crayons?! That's a new one on me. I didn't know crayons had gluten. In pre-school my son's class used homemade playdough. Gluten full, of course. I was worried, but they were very careful about making him wash his hands well. He never got glutened that year. My kid sure can wash his hands, though. -

Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Sounds less scary when you put it that way, dad. Here are two links to sites that have great products. We enjoy almost all of Kinnikinnick's foods. (the cinnamon raisin bagels were not so good) The prices may seem a little steep, but the donuts are very dense and cake-like. The pizza... -

What are you feeding him? Is it possible there's gluten in something you think is safe? Is he possible tempted at school during lunch to eat some of his friend's lunches? Is his teacher aware? Schools these days are the worst at handing out treats. Even my son's speech teacher uses food rewards. What is your son's attitude towards this diet? If he... -
