I was going to use them this summer, even bought a can of McCann's. But then I couldn't go through with it. -
ARCHIVED Are Han's Chicken Sausages Gluten Free?
Jnkmnky replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yeah... I had hoped for a quick yes or no from someone who knew for sure. Oh well. I scrapped the dinner plans and made something else. I'll wait until I get an official status report from the company. Emeril's sausages are all gluten free. I don't like the hot one's but the apple chicken is good. -
ARCHIVED Babies With Cd
Jnkmnky replied to Kailynsmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I'm glad someone agrees with my position, but I want to point out that this is more than "only my opinion"... It's a fact. We're just all so brain-washed to believe we need this product that going against it seems insane! But you are right about milk. It's NOT just your opinion. You know what you're talking about. -

ARCHIVED Babies With Cd
Jnkmnky replied to Kailynsmom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Kids don't need milk. It's promoted as a life-sustaining beverage, but it's not true. Your child will get protein from other sources. Calicum from other sources. You DO NOT need milk from a cow, a goat, a pig, a chicken (do chickens make milk?)... NO MILK. It's true! I use the WholeFoods 365 Organic brand of rice milk for cooking. My kids prefer... -

I would urge you to look into the plant estrogens in soy. They have a huge impact on babies. It's the equivilant to 5 birth control pills a day. Here are some links. I think you should add parmesan cheese to the recipe for Mozzerella stix. Or is that a bad idea? -

My great grandmother said garlic cured her arthritis. She ate minced cloves everyday after the age of 70 when her joints began hurting. She lived to 100 with NO joint pain-sewing until the end. -
ARCHIVED Blood Test Results "normal"
Jnkmnky replied to darkangel's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
There's an awful lot of healing you'll have to do. A few weeks is not enough time. Give it 6 months....at least. Just be 100% gluten-free or your efforts are wasted. -
ARCHIVED Gluten And Child Development?
Jnkmnky replied to VydorScope's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
There's not enough research to support what I think about gluten, the peptides, and additional autoimmune diseases... but here's my thinking on the subject. I believe that the leakier the gut, the more likely you are to develope the other, more aggressive autoimmune diseases. If your gut is so permeable that peptides are screwing with your brain to the... -

You should prepare for speech delays rather than imagine he'll jump to where he should be .. or better. Not using your emerging speech skills, not working through the fine motor skills necessary for speech, being "zoned out" due to peptide overload, all contribute to serious speech delays or impairments that require therapy to overcome. My seven year old... -
ARCHIVED Blood Test Results "normal"
Jnkmnky replied to darkangel's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I came up normal with no sensitivities as well. However, being gluten free means I DO NOT have the endometriosis pain I experienced for a year+. Have you read the book Dangerous Grains? It's helpful in explaining why our bodies do not do well ingesting gluten. It was all the proof I need to believe my body does NOT like gluten....no matter what the current... -

ARCHIVED Which Types Of Cow Milk Alternatives Are Best?
Jnkmnky replied to mightymorg's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
You have sit down and actually look at some info on soy. It's not as benign as you'd like to believe. Look into dairy as well. It is bad for you. I'm not all PETA ...go ahead and have a hormone/antibiotic free steak. Eat free range chicken for all I care...but for goodness sake, look into the soy 'thing'. It's seriously about your health. -

Jnkmnky replied to mightymorg's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Open Original Shared Link I am confident that if you begin looking at the possible dangers of soy, you'll find all the proof you need in a matter of moments. Google the positves about soy and you'll see that the info is shady, and pushing a product for $$ gain. There was a lot of "hope" thrown at soy. Everyone wants to believe in something that will... -
ARCHIVED Quick! Help!
Jnkmnky replied to Caroline's mommy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I use Pam's as well. I add a cup of flavored yogurt *black cherry gets the most compliments* for an extra flavorful zing. Plus, it makes the cake more moist. Also, I use the brownie recipe rather than the cake recipe because I think the brownie cake comes out more moist than the cake...cake. Also pillsbury chocolate fudge is gluten free. I don't trust... -
ARCHIVED Nearing End Of Gluten Challenge....
Jnkmnky replied to VydorScope's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
All I can tell you is I'm relieved I'm not the only one experiencing this. I went gluten-free awhile back because of the extreme lower back pain that was dxed as endometriosis. I figured if no one knew what the hell caused endo and my son has celiac.... it might just help. It did. 100% pain free for the first time in a year+. Then I went back to gluten... -

After Danceswithwolves post on conspiracy took a turn into the Keven Trudeau realm of holistic healing and the evils of the drug companies... I do not answer to you. I do not support grown women who berate and insult 9 year olds. She "vented" on a child. She better not expect to come here and find ME supporting her behavior. I won't. Okay? Thanks! -
ARCHIVED Westsoy Soymilk
Jnkmnky replied to mookie03's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Soy is not the miracle food it's touted as being. There is a lot of evidence to suggest soy is harmful to a human body. Please look into it more closely. I used to have dozens of mainstream articles in my favorites that I could reference... I purged my favorites a month or so back and only have this one article left. It's a billion dollar a year industry... -
ARCHIVED Which Types Of Cow Milk Alternatives Are Best?

We use rice milk when we need to. Otherwise, we drink water. In the morning, calcium added oj. Avoid soy. It's bad for your body. ARCHIVED Rant About Kids At School
Jnkmnky replied to Smunkeemom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Good Lord... you made a 4th grader cry? I think you need to chill-out. Teach your child to deal with any issues that arise in a more pleasant way. There was no reason for your behavior. The fact that you're now meeting with a mediator over your outburst shows how unreasonably you handled this situation. You're right about one thing... Life isn't fair... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Deli Meat?
Jnkmnky replied to melisadki's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I got a phone call back from Boar's Head and was told that ALL Boar's Head products, including their pickles, are GLUTEN FREE as of October 27, 2005. The few items that they used to tell Celiacs to stay away from are now GLUTEN FREE. They have NO products with gluten. That's good. But don't they still have nitrates???? Anyway, Boar's Head is 100% gluten... -
ARCHIVED Am I Allowed To Swear?
Jnkmnky replied to loveday's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
HAHA! Um, my son is a major pretend player. Talks to himself- the whole thing. Totally imaginative. I attribute it to being "trapped" in his own mind and unable to communicate for the first three years. The things he comes up with are so funny. I think he'll be a writer. He has the most original ideas.
