ARCHIVED Did Your Baby Have Reflux?
Jnkmnky replied to KayJay's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My son had severe reflux as well. Baby zantac didn't do much for him. I was eating gluten, so he had no hope! They say that gluten doesn't pass through to the breastmilk...but that's a load of crap. -
Hang in there.

ARCHIVED Telling Others About Gluten...
Jnkmnky replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
That totally sucks for you. Don't be envious, though. My life is full of other crap I can't get rid of no matter how hard I try. Someone once told me that if I'm envious of another person and I really want what they have... I have to be prepared to take EVERYTHING that other person has...not just the one good thing I want. No thanks! Have you... -
That's a little too aloof an attitude for me to deal with without saying something. Your ex is behaving like a jerk. If your daughter comes up positive for Celiac Disease, you will have medical proof of an auto immune disorder that requires a 100% gluten free diet for life. For him to suggest, even at this stage, that he wouldn't comply 100% says that he...

ARCHIVED Telling Others About Gluten...
Jnkmnky replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
That's a tough one because you don't know people's financial situations. I'm neg for celiac and sensitivity.... but no one will ever convince my my Endometriosis wasn't real ... then disappeared after going gluten free. Then returned when I ate gluten...then disappeared when I stopped....then returned when I snacked on french bread... along with brain fog... -

Ok. That was very funny. Tiffany- People do look at me like I'm nuts when I suggest the gluten free diet. It's more radical than Vioxx, I suppose. -

Question....WHAT'S MORE COMPLICATED THAN AN ALLERGY?? Answer....AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE!! ~I HAVE AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE~ Please listen to my very specific food preparation needs. My health depends on you! Thank you for all your help in keeping me healthy! -
I know people with MS, ulcerative colitis, autism, RA, and what looks like celiac disease to me... I'm sure most of you know people with autoimmune disorders and, like me, want to tell them about GLUTEN and how it may be affecting their disease. How ridding their bodies of gluten might have a postive effect on their symptoms.... Right? You all know people...

That's great news for you guys! To the other posters with kids not gaining... I never paid attention to what my son gained or grew after dx...mainly because the most profound aspect of his version of Celiac was the peptide poisoning/autism behavior. I couldn't tell you specifics about height and weight, but I can tell you that he's small and not heavy even... -

And to be "god is watching me honest", I do keep one half pint of half and half in the house atalltimes...for my 1/2 cup of coffee every morning. YES! I confess. I tried the rice milks in my java, the hazelnut, the almond, extra sugar, honey...nothing but about 2tblsps works for me. I am too old to negotiate this one thing. I will not give up my 2tblsps... -

Realy? Hmm I dunno that I could live with out CHEESE! Besides they have some of the most entertaining commerails! Well...gross fact for ya- it takes like 5 lbs of dairy to make 1 lb of cheese....or something like that. It's like quadrupling your dairy/casein intake. But yes, cheese is nice. I agree. If you read enough of the info about what dairy... -

Deb is right on. And I would fall more in the Keven T is a bit of a scam artist camp, but never thought Kaiti was a dope for liking the book or had poor judgement for recommending the book. Gina, your dislike of the material wasn't ganged up on.... Your relentless, passive aggressive, put-downs of anyone who would be 'stupid enough' to like the Keven T... -

Right there with you...*sip*... I do think milk's bad for the body. The marketers are evil. I don't keep dairy products in my house. It would be too tempting to have it around. My kids DO NOT have dairy as a general rule.
