  1. BAM- Didn't you say you're having a problem with soy? Most of Kinnikinnick's products are now soy free!! That may interest you.
  2. I buy Kinnikinnick. Many of their breads are dairy free. I don't know about nutritional values of the white tapioca rice bread, which is what we use, but I don't care either. I figure we're getting nutrition from the other things we eat and this approach has been working for us! Open Original Shared Link Nothing's perfect. As long as it's gluten free...
  3. Hey, My son eats pb sandwiches almost exclusively as well! He can't stand jelly. I know you said you've tried gluten-free breads and weren't happy with them, but I have to tell you... We use the kinnikinnick white tapioca rice breads and they are fine. Not only fine, but very good. I lightly toast them in the morning, make the sandwiches put them in a...
  4. Open Original Shared Link Tiger sauce looks gluten free to me. Email them and ask.
  5. Open Original Shared Link AHA! It's a Kraft's food product, so it would list any gluten containing ingredients clearly. It's gluten free! (thankgoodnesscuzweuseitoftenenough)
  6. Whoa. No one's going to lecture you about it. Go ahead and do what you want to do! I have a 7 year old son. We've done the diet since he was 3. Through pre-school, kindergarten 2times, summer camps, bday parties, Las Vegas trips, Cross country trips, eating out, the whole spectrum of living... Just so you know, and this isn't a lecture, substitutions...
  7. We use A1. I haven't looked at the ingredients in years, but have been going on the fact that we found it to be gluten free yrs ago. Just looked...Seems fine.
  8. I recommend the white rice tapioca bread, the chocolate dipped and glazed donuts *we add chocolate frosting to the glazed, the chocolate chip muffins are great, but a little too small, the plain bagels are great. Some stuff is pricey, but worth it. Some stuff is so filling that all you need is a half of the product to be full. Save what you don't finish...
  9. P.S. I wish schools would STOP with the food in the classrooms already. We have diabetic kids at our school, peanut allergic, milk allergic, Celiacs *more than just my kid*, one with minimal change disease *a kidney thing limited to 2gms sodium a day*, and those are only the ones I'm AWARE of. I certainly don't know everyone in town! So frustrating.
  10. This sounds kind of risky. You think he can roll out dough and follow the process making a gluten free cookie in a gluten FULL room with little kids elbow deep in gluten dough? I wouldn't let my son do it. I'd like to offer another suggestion you can use or discard. Maybe he would be happy enough making a playdough ginger bread man and decorating that...

  12. I don't agree that you NEED an official dx. Of course, the more celiac disease gets into the mainstream, the more people will try to benefit financially from it. Pressuring celiacs into believing they NEED to purchase something they're selling. Anyway, while this forum is free, so is the advice and you can take it or leave it. Here are some meal ideas...
  13. corn pops USED to be gluten free. They are FULL OF GLUTEN now.
  14. Hey Heather, This site has cute "someone I love Has Celiac Disease" Shirts for sale. I just noticed them. That could be a nice psychological support boost for your husband. My husband has shirts he wears out from the Celiac Walks we do every year. My son loves to see his dad wearing Celiac shirts.
  15. It's not that I thougth it was actually a "cure"....it's more that I saw it listed as an actual * cure *. Once I saw that, I typed it in and googled it and it came up countless times as a CURE. Shocking. I'd never seen that before and was surprised it could be stated so matter of factly that it is a "cure".

  17. My kids like the white tapioca rice bread by kinnikinnick. Open Original Shared Link Nothing to be embarassed about if you take a white bread sandwich. If cost is an issue, you could still get the bread, but make half sandwiches and suppliment with a yogurt, fruit, chips, cheese sticks.... Make the bread last a long time by making only half sandwiches...
  18. DeBoles are popular. Stick with them if you like them. Most here won't agree with eating granola bars. Oats are still considered a no-no due to cross contamination issues. If you can find/afford them, Glutano makes a nice cereal bar that's gluten free. Tiny...need to eat two, and out of this world pricey. My kids really like Kinnikinnick's donuts. ...

  20. What do you mean by "til I get better"? You DO realize if you have Celiac Disease, it's a life-long condition. You can never eat gluten again. Obviously, you can't take that multi-whatever since it has WHEAT in it. Are you planning to "store them in the fridge" until they come up with a cure for celiac disease? If you have celiac disease, you...
  21. When my son was three yrs old and not yet dxed, he would grab his legs and cry and moan about the pain in his knees, elbows etc. After a few months gluten free, he's never had that again.
  22. Well, nothing and no one is perfect. Any relationship you get into isn't going to be 100% about you and your illness. If someone wants to be in love with you, why try and talk them out of it? Let a grown man decide if he wants to be in a relationship with you and don't get all tied up about it. If you're being honest and he's chosing to be with you, then...
  23. As far as cereals, try the envirokidz gluten free brands. They are very similar to all of the grocery store standards. Open Original Shared Link Lots of regular stores are carrying them now, so you won't have to pay the health food store prices. I pay $2.50 a box for mine! At WholeFoods it's selling for $3.50 most of the time! You could go ...
  24. My last order got here QUICKLY. Previous orders have been up to 10 days. We were totally breadless for way too long one time and that's not doable with three kids.
  25. I wouldn't feed a celiac "gluten reduced" anything. It has to be gluten free. Do you have time to order on line from kinnikinnick or chebe for buns for your bbq? Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link I recommend all of the products from these two companies. They are very good. I order tons at a time and save on shipping as it is...
