ARCHIVED Hashimotos Thyroiditis?
loraleena replied to Live2BWell's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have Hashis. It is common for your TSH numbers to be supressed when on thyroid meds. However most docs do not know this and freak out and lower your meds. Luckily I work with an alternative doc who gets it. Please check out dr.lowe.com and you'll find tons of info. -

ARCHIVED Mcdonald's French Fries

What really stood out to regardless of whether there is gluten or not in the ingredients is how disgusting the ingredients were. Hydrogenated oils are extremely bad for you. These are not potatoes but rather some form of man made chemical concoction. I woudn't eat these even if they were safe!!!! Yuck!! -

ARCHIVED Anyone Have Problems With Rice Malt?

If something says only wheat free, that usually does not mean gluten free. I could very well have barley or rye. Make sure it says gluten free. -

loraleena posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has anyone ever had an issues with Green and Blacks dark chocolate? I know the ingredients are gluten free, but it does say it was made in a facility that also produces wheat. Anyway, I have been eating it once a week or two for the last few months. No problems at all. Then, I had it two weeks ago. 2 hours later I felt nauseous. By morning I felt better... -

ARCHIVED Bladder Problems And Celiac Related?
loraleena replied to kayavara's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Please look into Intersticial cystitis. A lot of us on here have it. I had the same issues, but no UTI as well. IC is an autoimmune disease that cause damage to the lining of the bladder and can also cause ulcers in the bladder. Check out the IC network for lots of info. The IC diet helps a lot ! There are many foods that can irritate the bladder, so... -

I just got mine checked for the first time. I demanded it after doing some reading. My ferritin was 14. I have read that is should be above 6o or even 80. My regualar doc said it was a little low, but not something to worry about since my hematocrit was low normal. My holistic doc saw it and said you are anemic!!! She had me start a supplement. It... -

loraleena replied to citykatmm's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I honestly think it is possible that the trauma to your body that an eating disorder could cause could trigger celiac. I had anorexia in college. It was not related to food making me feel bad. I just desperately wanted to be waif thin! After recover in 93, I started to have health issues a couple years after. I often wonder if hurting my body in this... -
I just found a wonderful holistic dentist in Greenfield Mass. It is called Dentistry by Dr. Mark (on Country club rd.) They do not use mercury fillings or flouride toothpaste (unless you request the flouride). They completely understand the gluten issue and supply gluten free products for use on patients. Make sure you let them know. What an awesome...

I got extremely ill 2 months after meeting my boyfriend. He stuck by me through it all and beyond after my diagnosis 6 months after that. He has stuck by me through the many health issues I currently deal with (probably related to undiagnosed gluten issues for so long). He is more vigilant than me about what I eat, where we eat, and kissing me! It all... -
