ARCHIVED Chemical Sensitivities?
loraleena replied to holiday16's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I became chemically sensitive overnight a couple years ago after being exposed to a horrible burning smell coming from something that broke in my car. I always got headaches from new cars or sneezed around incense, but this made my whole world change. I can't be around new cars, perfumes, moisturizers, new furniture, carpet, paint, new plastic items, new... -

ARCHIVED Mystery Ingredients
loraleena replied to Wakeboarder's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
While these ingredients are gluten free you want to stay away from baking powder with aluminum in it. Aluminum is very bad for you. You can find brands without it. -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Else Tried Humaworm?
loraleena replied to Nancym's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Carla, I keep having to eat, but have gained. I am being really careful what I eat so I can mantain. I know 133 does not sound like a lot, but I can't exercise much due to other issues, and every ounce I gain goes to the legs and butt. My upper body is thin, but my bottom half looks like I weigh a lot more! Do parasites cause extreme bloating after meals... -

I noticed that a couple of you have gained weight. Tbis would really freak me out. I am 5'9" and 133lbs, but it is all in the booty. If I gained 10 or 15 pounds I would freak! In fact lately I have been constantly hungry and having low blood sugar symptoms. I have gained 5 lbs since last summer. I am trying to mantain. Can one have a parasite but not... -
ARCHIVED Alopecia, Sjogrens And Gluten Intolerance
loraleena replied to healthygirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My son had Alopecia 5 years ago. His started out like your sisters and it slowly fell out in a circular fashion over about 5 months. He had a huge bald circle on one side of his head towards the back. At the time I did not know about gluten. I was hypothyroid though so he was check and ok. Through my research I found a miracle. It is called Kalosol... -
First of all the TSH range your doc used is old. The new range is .3-3. Even though your TSH shows normal that means squat. This test is highly innaccurate. You need to have many more tests done. There is a whole panel including FRee t3 and some others. You need to have your thyroid peroxidase antibodies checked. These should be less than 20. Elevated...

ARCHIVED Found Out I Am Low On Iron - Questions?
loraleena posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Well what I have suspected for years was shown to me yesterday when I saw my blood work. While my hematocrit and hemoglobin levels have been in the normal range, I had heard that getting Ferritin tested was crucial. So the above two have lowered to borderline normal as well as my total iron and red blood cells. My ferritin was 14! I read that the range... -
ARCHIVED Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)
loraleena replied to AliB's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Just jumping in to give some info on chocolate. A friend of mine made organic raw dark chocolate. She mixed raw organic coconut oil, raw agave nectar and raw cocoa powder. She then put it in a muffin paper and put it in the freezer. You have to freeze it because of the oil. It was yummy! -
I also have ITP. I have to get my platelets checked every 6 months.

Did you just have a TSH test? If so, what was the referance range. It should be between .3-3. Anything over 2 can cause hypo symptoms in some people and should be treated if there are symptoms. Many docs are using the old referance range of .3-5. Also you need to get the full thyroid panel including thyroid peroxidase antibodies. These should be under...

ARCHIVED Well Loraleena, You Were Right
loraleena replied to Janeti's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Glad I could help. Make sure she keeps an eye on your thyroid perosidase antibodies as well, or has she already done that. You may have to refresh my memory. I live in Western Ma. I have never been to Long Island. If you are ever heading up this way let me know! Make sure your doc has you use Armour or Cytomel. Stay away from Synthroid as it often does... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Else Tried Humaworm?
loraleena replied to Nancym's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Wow I think I will try this too! I did read up on it and it sounds great. I am concerned the herbs will bother my intersticial cystitis bladder!! But then again, maybe my bladder issues are from parasites and yeast. Do you feel crappy enough while taking this that you missed work? If so, I may need to wait till June when I have my new round of vacation... -

Are you eating a lot of rice products? Rice can be constipating. Focus on eating whole foods such as meats, veggies, and fruit. Also try a magneium supplement( gluten free of course). It helps with constipation. Sweet potato works wonders as well. -
