They are very thinnly sliced. I use them sometimes for little ham rolls stuffed with cream cheese, wortishire sauce, and pickles -

come on guys! I know someone knows what to do! -
It's ok to be really sticky! Sprinkle some corn meal or flour over the top so it wont stick to your hands. Then flop it in the pan. You might have to keep adding more corn mean/flour as you spread it out, but it should be fine!

It sounds like you have too much liquid. If you have some rice flour available slowly add it to your mix until your dough is sticky, but able to be rolled into a ball. For the future....the best pizza dough mix I have used is the 'cause your special kind. It's a little dry though so I add more moisture....plus sometimes I use two bags and double the recipe...

We are having some people come for the weekend tomarrow, and originally I had thought we would serve something relativly easy like a stew or maybe something from the grill. My hubby however had different plans! He is really proud of this Chinese dinner that we make. It is really good, and for a theme party its great.....but it's labor intensive and the...

I went to the doctor a few months ago with a rash that they determined was poisen sumac. The doctor prescribed me prednisone and explained that the meds would weaken my immune response thus providing releif. I got to thinking about it and started wondering....could this help celiac disease???? Does anyone know if taking prednisone after being glutened...

Hey Vicki! Just thought I would share that I'm like you and don't eat bread often (It's just not something I crave). I don't have a lot of counter space either, so it seems silly to me to get a seperate toaster. On the rare occation that I'm going to eat toast I turn on the broiler and broil my toast! It works great and I don't have to worry about CC...

Hi Erica, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time right now! Just remember that this too will pass. During hard times it's hard to see an end, but you will get through it. gluten-free most definately gets better with time....it just becomes a part of life you really don't think about eventually (I say eventually, but it's sooner than one may think... -
Hey Jen! I'm way late on this conversation, and I second what eveybody has said about only cooking one meal (my husband has gone up 2 pant sizes while eating my gluten-free meals....he obviously can't tell the difference ) Try making things that are naturally gluten-free instead of always using specialty ingredients. We are having oven fried pork chops...

ARCHIVED Genetic Origins Of Celiac
cgilsing replied to gfp's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Sorry to be off topic! I don't think I'm really awake yet! I'm going to ask a follow-up question though that's a bit off topic too...sorry but you seem to be knowledgable! So is the percentage of people with celiac disease the same in Northern Europe as well? Or is it higher? If not then how do they link celiac disease to Northern European decent? -

Wow that is interesting! I had always wondered why there was such a Celiac presence in Italy! I just googled it and read about the Norman invasion of southern Italy! Cool! -
ARCHIVED Question About Strange Symptom
cgilsing replied to Chrisser's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Well.....I know the feeling, but it's probably not the answer you are looking for! I felt like that for the first 3 months of pregnancy! I was hungry and nauseas ALL the time! To make matters worse NOTHING ever sounded good. I would stare into the fridge hoping something would sound satisfying, but it all sounded disgusting.....ahhhhh yes it sucks...but... -
I think I take pretty good care of my teeth...I'm not perfect, but I brush twice a day and floss (not everyday, but frequently). However I've always had trouble with them. Currently I'm in the process of getting not one or two, but five cavities filled. Granted I don't go to the dentist often, because novicane doesn't work well on me and frankly I'm scared...

ARCHIVED Test For Progress?
cgilsing replied to master44's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Im not saying that its a "gold seal" diagnosis in the sense that its a definate yes or no diagnosis...Im just saying that the medical community looks at it that way. Ive bee gluten-free for 2.5 years, but failed to get the biopsy in the beginning and now I can barely get a GI to see me. If I had it to do over again I would be beating down doors to get that... -
I'm sorry Celia I think we have all fantisized about doing something like that from time to time...I hope you get through ok

ARCHIVED Test For Progress?
cgilsing replied to master44's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I would suggest going ahead and getting a biopsy. It would give you a definate answer as to how much damage has been done to your intestines, and the biopsy is the "gold seal" diagnosis for celiac disease.....you will fight doctors forever without it (trust me I know). Once you are on a gluten-free diet there is no going back and getting that first biopsy... -
ARCHIVED Does Anybody Know Anything About Lupus?
cgilsing posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Sooo....Lupus is one of those things that has been in the back of my mind the last few months...I know that if you have celiac disease that your chances of developing lupus are increased. Lupus first came to my mind when I was looking on the internet about six months ago and saw a picture of the "butterfly" mask that is common to Lupus. It's a defined red... -
Thanks for your responses! I'm still not sure what this is all about....If it is gluten it's not as painful as my usual response, but this rash is really itchy!! so I guess it's an even trade. All kinds of weird things can happen while your pregnant, so I had wondered how it would affect celiac disease. I have an uncle that has to take cortizone shots...

So I know that celiac disease can be "triggered" by a pregnancy/illness/surgery/etc., but if you already have celiac disease can your symptoms change after any of these events? I'm not reallly sure, but I'm starting to think maybe that has happened to me. When I am glutened my main symptoms are usually C, a lot of cramping, and bloating, a little DH but...

ARCHIVED Old Friend Said We Can't Come Over
cgilsing replied to mart's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree. It sounds like there is something else going on with your friend. She must feel threatened for some reason by your diet! Her response doesn't even make sense. So what if she can't handle cooking for you....can she not socialize when food isn't involved Even if after you offered solutions to this problem, she couldn't handle it, why couldn't... -
I've always wondered about that guy in kid rock's group....I knew that celiac disease was the official cause of his death, but I don't really understand that. I've heard that he was on 20 some different medications for celiac disease too . I just don't understand how if he knew he had celiac disease and was on a gluten-free diet how he died of celiac disease...
