ARCHIVED Biopsy Negative Gene Test Positive
1desperateladysaved replied to Sooz Fooz's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I think that DH is proof of celiac. You would have to have a dermatologist check test it to be sure it is DH. I can't tell you why that you didn't get a genetic test first, but I suspect that it is because it is the newer kind of test. In addition to having positive genes something must trigger the manifestation of symptoms. This would be a major illness... -

ARCHIVED New Here, Feeling Miserable

I wonder if you might have water weight. Oh, high blood pressure probably so! My water wieight is due to adrenal gland not being able to make cortisol. My adrenals had given out. At any rate I saw an osteopathic doctor a few days back which is trained in Functional Medicine. The nurse practiitioner and doctor gave me an herbal mix to support the adrenals... -
ARCHIVED Might I Have Celiac Disease?
1desperateladysaved replied to learning2cope's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I feel for you. Whatever you have, I hope you will be on the mend soon. Being fairly new at this, I think everyone has celiac. It is a good problem to have, because it can be solved. Someone will explain about which tests. I would think the dermatologist might be able to diagnose if you have DH. If you do that would mean you have celiac. You need... -
ARCHIVED New Doctor + Infuriating Discovery
1desperateladysaved replied to Adalaide's topic in Doctors
After 30 years of celiac I had lost my ability to make cortisol to deal with stress. One's system is depressed, the doctor said, when this is the case. It was said to be without regard to emotional things going on besides. The disease puts the body in a depressed state.. I received herbs to help with adrenal support and a healthy helping of vitamin B... -
ARCHIVED Positive Blood Test And No Symptoms...what Should I Do?
1desperateladysaved replied to ip87's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I would get gluten out of your life and see what happens next. You might find that your reactions to it will become more obvious. Is reflux a possible symptom? Diana -

ARCHIVED Airborne Gluten In The Office
1desperateladysaved replied to LJR's topic in Super Sensitive People
I think I am reacting to foods airborne. I bloat and swell. I am trying to define these reactions, but I don't know just why they occur. I do know that small pieces of things are in the air and our noses pick up on them. -

ARCHIVED 8 Year Old Daughter, Suspected Celiac?
1desperateladysaved replied to Lisa4kids's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am a mother of 7. I learned in early motherhood that Fever is your friend. The body is designed to heat up to kill off invaders. Not too much makes me squirm anymore. But a fever of 105 is very high. Mainly I would try to get fluids in. I recommend coconut water, which is very hydrating. Watch for signs of dehydration. . I read a book "How to... -

ARCHIVED Life In The Fog
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The fog lifted, yesterday, in the afternoon as I was potting seeds. But I am not implying this is a treatment. Until the next time, it is gone. -

Welcome Heart, Now you are on a path. Keep walking. There will be bumps and twists, but you will be heading on to recovery. That is good. Yeah, I nearly sobbed in grocery stores. Foggy mind, what is and what helps it? Foggy mind: Here is what it means to me at various times, and in varying degrees. Pressure on my forehead under my eyebrows. A swirling feeling. It makes it hard to feel like making decisions. I feel like I can't think, but yet I can remember things and can learn for academics.. I feel like staring straight...

ARCHIVED Functional Medicine (Trying To Get To The Root Rather Then Treating Symptoms)
1desperateladysaved posted a topic in Doctors
I have been frustrated with MD's in general since early in my youth. The doctor could give me cream (which the druggist warned was dangerous) to make my eczema go away. However, it would soon be back with a vengeance. There was no attempt to eliminate the cause of the problem. I couldn't believe that there was no cause. Thus began my quest for something... -
ARCHIVED Crises, Or Invitation To Anniversary Celebration?
1desperateladysaved replied to 1desperateladysaved's topic in Super Sensitive People
Oh, thanks. Tough times this week. I described what happened to a doctor and he said that I should absolutely avoid restaurants. I mentioned that I had been, but this was a family important reunion. Then he said, okay, you could go, BUT eat at home. You are always supposed to eat at home. That is at least until we can figure out what these reactions... -
Back In The Fog. Hard New Plans.
1desperateladysaved posted a blog entry in 1desperateladysaved's Blog
I had been living with a nice clear mind for at least a couple of months. I put up with brain fog for nearly 30 years, but now I know something better. Now, when I have to deal with it, I want back out. A taste of the good life makes me more desperate to gain a clear mind back again. Since I started my rotational diet and a couple of supplements, one... -
ARCHIVED Can't Trust So Called Gluten Free Menu Items Anymore
1desperateladysaved replied to glutego's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
: As far as people are concerned there are two definitions of gluten free. One means that nobody purposely puts any gluten in. The second means that it is processed in a separate facility than wheat. I was warned at Jason's deli that, although they had a gluten free menu, it was not intended for celiacs. Nice they were honest. From my super... -
