  1. I have similar issues with weight gain. I think mine is do to my adrenal glands being taxed. I am recently on an herbal formula to support adrenals, but it is too early to say what all it does. You can check adrenal glands by taking blood pressure while lying down. Then stand up and take it again. It should rise somewhat when one stands up. If it...
  2. It isn't for me; I do not trust vaccines in general. I would suggest that you look objectively at the ingredients in the vaccine to see if it would be wise to put it in your body.
  3. I didn't have the finger things. However, I had chronic plantar fasciitis in one foot for a year or two before I went gluten free. Upon going gluten free both feet had plantar fasciitis pain! So, the pain was worse than ever. The pains lasted for about a months and went away for the last 10 months! Hang in there, maybe this is the storm before the calm...
  4. I think they sometimes inject a gluten water mix to give you a nice moist product. Beware. Diana
  5. Wraps: 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup water or milk 2 Tbsp flax moistened (I haven't tried it without eggs) dash salt warm fry pan. Add butter or oil Add some batter and tip if you want it spread thin. Toast lightly on each side. Eat. It takes about 5 minutes. Other idea look for grainless muffins on the internet. I make mine with nut flour...
  6. Hi Colleen, Oh, I hope you will feel better soon. I have been wondering where you are. The Lord hasn't left you and can carry. When you feel the couch under you, you can feel you are being carried. Hang on, or just be held on to. *** Get well Diana
  7. Here I go again into territory I have not yet conquered. The challenge: to eat only foods, I had no measured intolerances to, for 6 weeks. These 10 good foods included 5 protein foods, 2 vegetables, and 3 fruits. The test had been for about 85 foods and of them, I had 10 left. I also may eat any food not tested. I heard the average American only eats...
  8. I learned a few things from a Functional Medicine nurse I visited with the other day. The adrenal glands manufacture a substance called cortisol which helps the body deal with stress. On the day of my nutrient absorption test, I tested as not having the nutrients to build cortisol. My system was depressed having had to fight celiac disease for 30 years...
  9. Hi Pam, I hope you are well. I am glad you discovered your celiac. I noticed symptoms over most of my life time, certainly 30 years back, and was diagnosed when I was 49! It was quite a surprise. I had no known family member with it. Well, now we know, and we can learn and follow the diet and hopefully, heal up. Diana
  10. I was undiagnosed the whole time! I was kept alive in famine and very blessed. I would have taken in more babies if I could have. I do recommend going gluten free first!
  11. I have also dehydrated cherries cut in half to add to grain-less granola.
  12. If you heal up by following your diet, I believe that you may be blessed with children. I had untreated celiac during my childbearing years. I miscarried my first child, after that I had 5 healthy children. My pregnancies were naturally 2-3 years apart and then I lapsed into infertility. It is possible to have children when you have celiac disease...
  13. Hi! I had a tough week last week. I received some damage assessments after 30 years of celiac. I went home and wanted to discuss them, but found my husband slept already! The next day, I called a couple of friends which couldn't talk. Thank you people on the forum for listening! As some may know I like to give people flowers around here. **...
  14. Hi Melissa, Sorry you had to go through so many years of suffering. You now have hope, because you know what your problem has been all of these years. You also know what to do about it! It is difficult to learn everything needed, but you just start. You will get better and better at it. Any mistakes will help you stay motivated. It is rare...
  15. I sat at the table with others eating desert. I had already warned them that I could only eat at home, Doctors orders. I was set at the end of the table in an effort to avoid the snack. I took one last slurp of the water to notice my mug now had something in it. Oh, no. Next time, perhaps I will skip the water. OOps just noticed I misspelled dessert...
  16. An osteopathic functional medicine doctor I had my 9 year old son too was offering nutrient absorption tests for him. Yes, children may get them. Some chiropractors can order them. In the end my son didn't have them. I had nutrient tests and they were very helpful for me. Diana
  17. Coming from a supersensitive viewpoint. Ugh, I have a memory of drinking "glucola". My blood sugar was 80 one hour later. That is low even for fasting the doctor said. We thought I must have been handling sugar really well. However, I was sick for at least a week and began to have pregnancy problems such as high blood pressure and low amniotic fluid...
  18. Actually, it broke the window. I guess I did avoid it that day. More time went by before I found out I couldn't eat cheese. I haven't forgotten the crash of the cheese hitting the glass!
  19. My health professional just told me that irritability can be caused by the need for B vitamins. Irritability is one of my first signs of getting gluttened. I am still not sure if it is "caused by" or if it just makes it hard to be nice. You may want to check your nutrient status. One more thing: I haven't been able to eat malt balls for many years...
  20. You can make really great tasting muffins with almond, or coconut flour. Some people enjoy them more than their old bread. The food is good, if you don't like it right away, you can develop a taste for it. Once you are gluten free and your symptoms start to go away that can help keep you on track. Get well soon *** Diana
  21. Thanks for the encouragement. I am coming up on a year. After 30 (or more) years of celiac symptoms, I could use some courage about now.
  22. I like dried beets?! I have also dried tomatoes. I buy dried peas and they are one of my favorite treats. I think one could dry about any veggie. I keep mine in the freezer for longer storage.
  23. Thanks to Dilantesteph, I have been washing them 3 times in soap and water. Rinse well.
  24. Treating symptoms to make them going away without regard to what caused them. Would you pull the wires out of a fire alarm, to put out a fire? Would you disconnect your check oil light rather than put some oil in? I could put hydrocortisone on my eczema and it would go away. But it would come back with a vengence, because I didn't fix what was causing...
