  1. That sounds like a good plan to me. My health practitioner told me that when the villi of the intestine are damaged, they fail to tell the pancreas to fire. The enzyme supplements can help break down the food in the meanwhile. Hopefully, over time, with better nutrition, the villi will heal and tell the pancreas to give off enzymes.
  2. I am a little confused. If you have fatigue and nausea those could be indications of taking in gluten for you. If you have it all of the time now, you may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms or continuous mistakes. I hope you do feel some symptoms when glutened so that you will be able to catch your mistakes. Also, as you recover, your body, hopefully...
  3. Outside it is around 20 degrees I have a list of things planted in Plastic bins, (also known as little greenhouses) in South windows. Cabbage, broccoli, peppers, onions, swiss chard, collard greens, marigolds, Romaine, Iceburg lettuce, celery, Okra, tomatoes, brussel sprouts. I plan on putting in melons, squash, peas, green beans, , and potatoes outside...
  4. If they are bits of food stuck to the utensils, rewash them for sure. I carefully rinse mine before washing in hopes that the dishwater and dishwasher will not get gluten in them. Then I wash them. If they are not yet clean I rescrub them. I believe even a little crumb or slime can be a problem. Therefore, I think extreme caution is in order.
  5. Hi LalaSara, Having had 5 babies, I am not surprised that you are very hungry at 7 months pregnant. Make sure your meal plan includes protein, carbs, and good fat. The fat (olive oil, butter, or coconut oil) helps you to feel full and stay full. I hope you have found a gluten free multi-vitamin and other nutrients that you might be low in. This is...
  6. My first suggestion, coming from a super-sensitive position, is to get a hotel with kitchen. If that doesn't work, bring cooking gear with you. I can fit an electric skillet, and utensils in my carry-on. Do you eat out when you are around home because I won't even consider it? I can cook meat and veges at the same time in my skillet. I have cooked in a...
  7. I have had great experience with chiropractic care. My chiropractor saved my life. To mention briefly, I had high blood pressure which dive bombed when I stood up. This is a very dangerous situation; I verified that on the internet. I received supplements that brought my blood pressure to a normal curve. I also am using an osteopathic doctor for my...
  8. Our functional Medicine doctor told me that he looks for health in unhealthy people. He checks the whites of the eyes. If they are red, it is a sign that something isn't healthy. I checked his eyes-Perfectly white. I checked my eyes-much redness. Work on getting healthy. Diana
  9. Yes, you could call it hashbrowns and I am going to check out the article.
  10. Hey Jamie, Get well soon *** I have used supplements to help bring my nutrient levels up. The damage to your intestine makes it hard to get enough nutrients without them. I used food intolerance tests, and record keeping to determine what foods to avoid. There are many things you can do (even just time) to feel better. Please don't give up. ...
  11. I also had no family history of celiac. I had 4/4 genes for it. That means I got 2 from Dad and Mom. I found out when I was 49 and have had much damage from it. Please do try to find out if you have it, and share with family members. None of my family members have done anything about it, but they know it is possible. You can test for yourself and your...
  12. The other day I picked up some sun chokes or Jeresulem artichokes. I peeled them and then shredded them in the food processor and put them in a small pot with oil a tablespoon of water and salt. I rather forget them, having set the timer to steam them for 10 minutes, until I smelled a sensation like that of hash browns frying! Yum. I enjoyed a delicious...
  13. Oh, wow, What a happy story! I wanted to know your history and I found some. Thanks.
  14. Oh My Word, YOU MEAN, You aren't a volunteer either? Chicken Pox? Baking Soda baths were soothing when they start getting itchy. I hope that you have plenty of tubs or small boys that can share. Liquid Vitamin ACE is something my chiropractor recommended to fight the pox. But don't give too much to fast, because you want them to end up fully immune...
  15. Hi Brittani, I hope your ear will stay pain free soon. Diana
  16. I am glad it went well and that you got a definitive diagnosis. Happy gluten Free Day! Diana
  17. I had a blood test for antibodies. I don't know how that compares to your test, because it wasn't the same test. I have felt better since only eating foods I didn't react to. I would give it a try! I hope you can find substitutes, I have been doing okay with that. I wish you well and encourage you to keep proceeding with your mind analyzing. Diana
  18. There are some of us that do not believe you are crazy. Honestly, I think my reactions are really weird myself. No wonder my family doesn't believe them. Over time, I am hoping it will all work out. One can set up a kitchen nearly anywhere with an electric skillet, crock pot, and a table. I feel so much safer not cooking where gluten is cooked. Diana
  19. Yeah, I don't always treat people the way I would want them to treat me. I don't really think all of it can be justified by celiac or anything else. It can be tough.
  20. I am pondering carrying my own table and chair. Then I could avoid using picnic tables, but have a nicer place to eat over the summertime. I have been told by a doctor to eat at home. My body is being very touchy on me. Thank God for my car oven and supply of paper utensils in the car and ready! I bring the food, or shop at the coop for it when I go...
  21. It sounds like you have been carried well! I hope you will soon feel well strong, and recovered from gluten. I am celebrating by making my first post for days. My computer didn't let me post for at least 3 days. I also had trouble reading the site. Diana
  22. Yeah, get the list of tests before you go. List the symptoms as you did above. Hopefully, your doctor will be one that listens to their patient. Don't give up even if they don't listen. You have an important set of gripes, and I believe there is a reason for them. Diana
  23. Dear Distressed, Sorry about the hardships you are suffering. I hope one day you will see the payoffs strong enough to think it was worth the grief. I hope you will get over your depression, fatigue, and other hardships to recover your health. I hope you will be able to stay awake longer and finish your school. I hope your parents will be sympathetic...
  24. Yes, four of us did. I recommend the idea of posting a "meeting" like this in the future. Having a certain topic could be a good thing. Having a super-sensitive group, or decades undiagnosed group, or possibly a group of people home during the day could be fun. A question time for Newbies, perhaps? I am not volunteering for that one. I think I would...
