ARCHIVED Finally Got Into Rheumatology Triage
GF Lover replied to nvsmom's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones as far as Rheumatologists go. He was the one who discovered my celiac. He consistently monitored my other immune issues for years and never stopped trying to detect small changes in blood work and symptoms to pinpoint my issues. We did have stumbles along the way but he never gave up on me. I hope you have a good... -
ARCHIVED Pins And Needles And Celiac
GF Lover replied to KerryLad's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Kerry, From this thread and the other one you started with this same issue, it is becoming clear that you do not have a good understanding of what Gluten Free really means. Please read the Newbie thread and do some self education. Of course, we are always here to help but you must further your knowledge if you are to be successful with this life change... -

I really feel for you hun. Rinsing dishes before use should take care of stray crumbs, use clean towel to dry. Try placing a bath towel on the counter to prepare your food or paper towels. Get a good gluten-free Probiotic, multivitamin and digestive enzymes. Have you had your vitamin and mineral levels checked? Make bigger batches of the foods that... -

The What's For Dinner Tonight Chat
GF Lover replied to jess-gf's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Hubs made his Famous Cheeseburgers In Paradise for din din. They are famous because he is the official Grill Master at the family's annual 4th of July Party-Rama. Dad was forced to give up the title when a burger flip went wrong, flames licking up the side of the guest house and water hoses were involved. Needless to say, Dad is not allowed around... -

I'm going into the light.... Oh, I will need to strap some parasols onto my chair as I am terrified of the sun. And, no offense Irish, I would like California since the humidity is lower, just saying... -

ARCHIVED Disappointed At Chipotle - What Should I Expect?
GF Lover replied to Nikki2777's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
This is my opinion. I believe every public restaurant, cafe, etc. Can have gluten contamination. To Err Is Human and these facilities are operated by humans. I think you play Russian Roulette every time you dine out. Eating out is a choice. I do at times eat out myself and am very careful but I do get that pit in my stomach every time wondering if this... -

ARCHIVED Celebrate With Me!
GF Lover replied to GF Lover's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Thanks guys! Last night Me and Bob, from the Red Mill, are getting things together to make brownies. I'm gonna add walnuts and the walnuts I have are whole nuts. So I hollar out to hubs in the garage, "how do I make chopped walnuts", he pops his head up and starts laughing at me and says "grab a clever and have at it". Now I'm thinking, did I really... -

When I go to "The Chair" I'm going straight for the Hover Round thing. Beef up the motor a bit, add some side bags and strap a cooler in back to store my gluten free snackies. Colleen -

ARCHIVED Celiac Disease Questions And Help Please
GF Lover replied to KerryLad's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Don't think 4 biscuits at one time is ever a good idea. If you think you may have Celiac, you should ask your Doctor to run the appropriate tests. -
It sounds like something is still triggering an autoimmune response and causing inflammation. Have you been checked for other AI diseases? Have you checked medication and OTC medicines?. Are you getting beauty products in your mouth like shampoo, face creams, lipstick? Are you kissing a gluten eater? Have you replaced appropriate kitchen products? ...

ARCHIVED Question On Symptoms
GF Lover replied to HumanDecency's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Gluten free products usually have a lot more sugar than there gluten equivalents. You may have inadvertently been eating more sugar then you think, then dropping. You should try and eat more whole foods rather than just substituting. This will also help you heal quicker. Hope this works out for you, we are always here for help. Colleen -
I got my MRI of brain results. There is "NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE". I cannot even express how relieved I am. No more Oncologists until July 9th. You guys here ROCK! I'm blowing hugs ands kisses to all of you. Thank you for getting me thru this. Colleen

ARCHIVED Question On Symptoms
GF Lover replied to HumanDecency's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Maybe your sugar is dropping on you. Check to see if eating some fruit when this happens, even if not hungry, resolves the issue. My hunch is that this is what is happening. When you adjust your diet, your body needs to adjust to the change. Good luck with this. Colleen -
ARCHIVED No Diagnosis Or Support From Doctors, Not Sure What To Do Next
GF Lover replied to Eclara's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I have to stress Takalas post. Get on with it girl! This is all on your shoulders. Again, don't make it complicated. Prepare large simple meals, freeze your leftovers. I boil a couple of chicken breast, throw rice in, sometimes some chicken broth (gluten-free). Make a large pot of it, freeze in containers. I make this at least every two weeks for a... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Disease Questions And Help Please
GF Lover replied to KerryLad's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Kerrylad. IMH, It looks like a whole lot of fat is in your diet, although I don't know what "chipper" food is. If your symptoms don't improve with cutting out some fat and lots of water, then maybe look closer at your whole diet, vitamin and mineral levels and general overall health. I hope things resolve for you. Colleen -
I'm hoping you find that your commitment to the diet will resolve many symptoms for you and like a lot of us, resolve things we didn't even realize were wrong. Congratulations, and we are here to help you along. Colleen
