  1. Some members on here have never had a diagnosis of Celiac or gluten intolerance, but they have found out that they can't eat gluten. You might try going completely gluten free for several months and see how you are. You might also have Entrolabs (sp) run the celaic panel on you, but most insurances do not pay for it. Someone will probably post more info...
  2. I wish I was going to the convention, I would go the one day and then rent a car and head for the Longaberger Homestead and Dresden to spend my $$$$$$$$$$. Trust me the last time I was there I spent my $'s
  3. You fruitcake, you are messing with my hair and I am having enough to learn how to spike it, without your interference
  4. Judy, the offspring would have to buy Spike Glue by the case - he he.
  5. I personally prefere the friendlyness of Wild Oats and they will order for me anything I want. But, this Friday I have to go to Whole Foods to get my soda (without corn syrup) and Bard's Tale beer. They are not carring the New Grist yet and my Wild Oats does not have either - so far. It is about 30 minutes more driving time for me to go to WF's.
  6. Yes, karen, I agree with Judy that your little guy just brings smiles to my face. I think he is cuter then my ostrich and I am jealous Beverly and Carla, I think that I would have changed schools - he he.
  7. Talking about hair. I finally got the nerve this morning to try spiking it myself. It was cut last Thursday for me to spike it, but I was afraid to try it. Will for my first try, it was not too bad. Will keep doing it until I perfect it. So, I definately looked like my ostrich/hamster avatar today. Saw the GP today and he changed my Synthroid...
  8. Sending prayers your way that it is nothing serious. Please let us know the outcome.
  9. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL AND MAY TODAY BE EXTRA SPECIAL
  10. Are you taking the generic for these brands or the actual brand itself? I know Ambien is gluten-free.
  11. I am getting into trouble at my house between this thread and the 40 ish thread. I am laughing so loud that hubby thinks I should tone it down so he can hear the TV. I love Karen's photo
  12. OMG, I guess it is time I was going to bed. An 8" fence would probably be too high for me to jump right now . The joke that really had me rolling in the aisles is Pinnochio. I had to leave my beloved computer and go tell hubby that one. Then he had to tell me to stop laughing as he can't hear the football game.
  13. OMG, these are just hilarious. You have me laughing so hard, that my dog is looking at me strangely. Karen. the coyotes find it easy to jump a fence up to 8' high. And Floridian, Bitsy has not had a snake bite yet, but they have a yearly shot that would prevent her from dying if she got bit and so I spend a fortune for that yearly shot. It would give...
  14. If I stare at the moon all night, can I look as good as Beverly
  15. When I got diagnosed, my GP said that if I really wanted to get better, then I should do the research myself and not see a dietician. When I was waiting for one of my many yearly blood tests, someone told me that two of her neighbors had been diagnosed with Celiac. One learned what to eat by himself and is doing great. The other went to a dietician to...
  16. These jokes certainly have me laughing. Thanks lonewolf, I don't know where you live, but you do know that the coyotes can jump an 8" fence. And if they run in packs, they are not afraid of humans and would take your puppy away from you. So, that is great that you left him at home. But, the packs also will run in the daytime, not just at night....
  17. Saline is gluten free. I posted on another of your threads about the pedialyte and Ensure. I was where you are at before I got diagnosed. I was also in a fetal position because of the dehydration. You need to see your doctor ASAP. The dehydration is not something to mess with. Keep us informed.
  18. Rice Krispie treats are my favorite, but I don't make them anymore. I just don't have the strength to stir them so that they are mixed up properly. I remember my MIL making me a batch in place of my birthday cake. That was so awesome. She did two pans and I got my own.
  19. 2 1/2 years ago when I got so dehydrated before diagnosis, I drank pedialite and continued to drink it for about a month after diagnosis. I needed to get some nutrients in me. I really don't think that that has any gluten in it, because I would have thrown it up like I did all other food. A little over a year ago, I lost more weight with our move to a...
  20. When I went gluten free, I thought the same as your husband. that some of this was just overdoing it. I did not get a separate toaster. I did not make myself toast much and just did not think that was what was helping to make me sick every so often. It took me a year and a half to buy myself a toaster. And even then I was still getting some cross contamination...
  21. Congratulations on getting so much better. You are doing a great job in healing yourself.
  22. When I got diagnosed I was too sick to know where to turn for cooking. I did wok meals almost every day. We got, veggies, meat, etc. in there. We got sick of them until I learned what to do, but it sure helped us through the learning curve. BTW, even after 2 1/2 years I still am getting wonderful cooking tips on this forum. The recipes are fantastic...
  23. I see a Chiro weekly because of the Scoliosis of the spine and my neck. My neck has 2 vertibrae that are trying to fuse together. My Chiro would not adjust my neck without the X-Rays and after he saw them, he would not physically adjust it. He looks at my neck X-Rays during each visit and he uses that little gun instead of manual manipulation. He also...
  24. Juliem, Broncobucs is going to be at the game tonight - on the Steelers side. A friend of his, who plays for the Steelers, sent him tickets. So, Broncobucs drove from Tempe, AZ today for the game and will drive home to Las Vegas tomorrow (I think that is what he said). No, I did not meet him for lunch yesterday as I had put in a very rough night on Friday...
  25. How talented you both are. Enjoy the new yoga room
