  2. My heart is so happy - she was meant to be our puppy.
  3. Thanks for posting this, ENF.
  4. The tTG is one of the best tests out there for Celiac....if that's positive, there is a very, very high likelihood that you have Celiac. You don't have to be positive on all of them to have Celiac. Having a positive tTG is more diagnostic (Celiac wise) than only a positive AGA IgA or AGA IgG. Some good, reputable websites, besides this one are: www...
  5. I think she is chasing bones in her sleep. She's on my lap, and her tail is wagging, and her head is moving and her whole body is wiggling. I think my giggling is going to wake her up. I'm smitten. My heart grew about 10000000000x the size it was.
  6. I haven't read at all - but there is good reason. See the picture. She's here and she's ours. And in my lap, asleep.
  7. I agree.
  8. You can use ground up gluten free cookies - like Midel's ginger snaps.
  9. Here is Kraft's labeling policy Open Original Shared Link What 'list' are you referring to? "We do not issue letters/lists regarding this subject because letters are only as good as the day they are written." Open Original Shared Link
  10. This recipe was listed in the Harrisburg GIG newsletter: Recipe from Connie Sarros' July '08 glutenfree newsletterette. (www.gfbooks.homestead.com) Mock Soy Sauce 1/4 c vegan, gluten-free, soy free broth 1/2 tsp molasses 1/4 tsp balsamic vinegar 1/8 tsp salt (sea salt if you have it on hand) 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  11. To maximize the endoscopy, talk to your doctor beforehand and make sure they are taking a sufficient amount of samples (about 4-6), as Celiac can be a patchy disease. (references: Open Original Shared Link and Open Original Shared Link Again, I'm not sure if the meds you are on would affect it. You may want to ask your doctor about the use of steriods...
  12. That's a 'myth' that still seems to float around from time to time.
  13. Welcome to the board, Rissa. Given your symptoms, your positive genetic test, and your other health concerns, an endoscopy may be of benefit. Not only to look for Celiac - but to look for other issues. I can't say for certain that these meds will or won't affect it - but I will say that in my experience and reading of Celiac literature, I have never...
  14. These cards may help: Open Original Shared Link Always speak with a manager or chef - don't rely on the waitress. Make sure you cover 1. the ingredients in the food and 2. the preparation of the food (clean utensils, pan, etc).
  15. semecl, I don't have many ideas, but wanted to offer you some support. Hang in there. Don't beat yourself up over this - people who have less severe reactions, less access to gluten free foods, family and friends who don't completely understand, and incomplete information from their medical professionals are often the ones who have a tougher time with...
  16. Jenny, I will keep you in my prayers. Please use this thread to keep us updated.
  17. DH, on this celiac board, can mean Dermatitis Herpetiformis, a skin manifestation of Celiac. Other "D_" usually refers to 'dear' DD dear daughter DS dear son DW dear wife DH dear husband
  18. I would say that is a question (re: Marsh) that your doctor and/or pathologist need to answer for you .... and an answer that they owe you. Only the pathologist would know - others could guess, but its up to the pathologist's view an interpretation as to what that means.
  19. All oils are safe, e.g., vegetable oil, canola oil, corn oil, olive oil, etc. All "one ingredient" spices are safe e.g., thyme, oregano, etc. For spice mixes with more than one ingredient, you need to read the ingredients to make sure. McCormick's has a clear gluten labeling policy - Open Original Shared Link
  20. Sounds like you have a bona fide Celiac diagnosis - Guess the pathologist recognized it pretty quickly! This board is a wonderful resource. Read, read, read, and ask, ask, ask. Welcome to the board - happy you are here.
  21. Julie, whats the word with the potential puppy?
  22. I did it. It was brownies. I learned my lesson and it solidified it for me. Accidental glutenings reinforce it also.
  23. I'm here, and thankful for Patti's excellent doctor!!!!!! You can't put a price on that.
