  1. OMG....how funny Tiffany!! I totally want one of those! He's actually kind of cute...although he might not be very "safe" around me on a bad day.
  2. Patti, I'm sorry about this news. Of course I'll send good vibes and prayers his way.
  3. OMG...I'm freezing. Its not 28 here....its somewhere in the 30's. I cant handle it. I miss my heated bed that I dont have anymore. I'm hoping this will end soon....it seems much colder than normal winter temp. Julie....7 degrees I think I would die. I'm just reading along too. Too cold to really do much...I need to get into the bathtub...
  4. I asked my Dr. about all this....what he said did not sound good. He was saying that they are no longer allowed to treat Lyme with more than 21 days of antibiotics. This started about a month ago. He said that unfortuantely the medical community is divided on this. Half of the doctors do not acknowledge chronic Lyme. They will call it Fibromyalgia...
  5. Well the Mayo Clinic sucks for not acknowledging Lyme. Same with Stanford here in Ca.
  6. I saw it...my Dr. told me about this at my last visit. He said as of right now its not a felony to provide more than 21 days of antibiotics....but it is REALLY REALLY frowned upon. Its scary.
  7. Great news Shannon!! I'm so happy both kids are doing great. I remember your worries about the hairloss...thats fantastic that she no longer has that and that she's looking great and GROWING!!
  8. Was your gp ordering a stool test for parasites?? Or was that a different Dr.?? I forgot. It would be good to be tested for Ghiardia and H. Pylori. I think Ghiardia would cause lots of diarreah....I dont remember if you have this problem or not?? Is it Monday yet??? I'm super impatient for my Dr. appointment. Linds...
  9. Yeah...real nice. Thats why I learned I have to be proactive as far as my health...and my diagnosis/treatment. No way would I completetly trust a doctor again. I asked to be tested for Lyme almost 2 years ago...and was ridiculed for it...I was denied testing. So now I got a doctor who's got some "smarts" and I get diagnosed with Lyme. I wonder...
  10. Miamia, From what I've read about co-infections it seems like most people with Lyme will also have co-infections. If you dont identify the co-infections and just treat Lyme....you dont get better. The co-infections should be treated before or at the same time as Lyme treatment. The more co-infections you have the sicker you are. Babesia is the...
  11. Did you have the full Celiac panel with the total serum IgA tested? Is it possible that dd#1 is IgA deficient?? That would be a reason for having a false negative bloodtest.
  12. Thanks Andrea I must confess though...it was mom who did it. Actually I wrote everything down myself.....then my mom took it from me and put it on the fridge. I guess she probably knew that I would lose the paper. Thanks Susan. Glad you had a good day at work...with no mistakes. I made a BIG mistake today...not even sure...
  13. WOOHOO! Donna, we will miss you but I know you'll be having such a great time. I'm jealous...its probably alot warmer where you're going. I'm gonna have to go eat my ice cream in the bathtub tonight.....so I can enjoy it without going numb. Hi Evie. Its gonna turn up dust.
  14. Hmmmm...good question. I believe he was going to BioSET first though.....because she was the first to tell him he had Lyme. His Dr. had referred him to her for his allergies but in the initial testing she found that he tested positive on the Lyme panel. I think it took him awhile to confirm what she had told him...through Igenix. I'm pretty sure...
  15. Rinne....ITS TRUE!! I couldnt tell Andrea my appt. times because I'd forgotten them. Now I have everything written down....its hanging on the fridge.
  16. Donna....whenever I've called them and got the machine I've just called back later. I hate leaving messages...usually the receptionist girl will answer at some point. I'm not too suprised that she didnt call you back though. Its the same girl who didnt schedule all my appts. when I first asked her to.
  17. I didnt explain it at all really....cuz I'm not too sure myself. Julie explained it better. Yeah...I guess BioSET lady #2 is gonna test the water when I go see her on Saturday. BioSET lady #1 is gonna do some other testing (I think un-related to the water?) when I see her next week.....I guess to try to find out why I'm not noticing improvement. ...
  18. Donna, BioSET lady #2 called me today. They want me to put 2 bowls of water in the house....one in the living room and one in my room. Then I'm suppossed to bring the water with me to my appt. on Sat. She said that BioSET lady #1 wants her to check the water to see whats in my "environment". This should be interesting.... I think my environment is pretty...
  19. Were you on the gluten-free diet for all of those years before treating Candida or did you go gluten-free around the same time as the diet?? It may have been the elimination of gluten that helped your body recover from candida and its symtpoms. I've seen people who responded very well to their candida treatment and diet but only because on the diet they...
  20. I did the Candida diet/antifungals/supplements etc. I didnt need a Dr. to help me although I did have an N.D agree with me on the diagnosis. I spent alot of time on Candida message boards and I was really strict with the diet. All I ate was organic veggies (not the starchy or sweet ones), organic meat, eggs and fish. I was on the diet for 4 months....
  21. Linds, I think getting checked for the parasites is a smart idea. I'm still concerned alot about the whole being near the woods and having deer ticks all around and stuff like that... Out of the 50 states your state (Minnesota) ranks in the top 10 for reported cases of Lyme Disease. The statistics I saw were for 1997-2003. Minnesota ranked...
  22. IMO...yeah....I think its much worse. With gluten...I did the same thing....looked at everyone as if they had "it". Its easy to do because *everyone* eats gluten and most people have something going on with them...frequent colds, allergies, tummy aches, mood swings etc. Its really easy to look around and start thinking that everyone has Celiac. If...
  23. I've heard of it. Its some kind of horrendous disease that makes having Lyme seem like a picnic. I've read a story of a guy who had it and he just couldnt deal anymore...he comitted suicide. Another story had a better ending....this guy had Lyme too....he was saying the Lyme was nothing in comparison to the Morgellon's. Morgellons makes you...
  24. Its not that new anymore. My Endocrinologist was already using these numbers 4 years ago. I had probably one of the best Endo.'s in my area so I've been in good hands. Thanks for all of your concern. My weak adrenals are because of the Lyme. When things get better in that area....the adrenals and other problems should improve as well. Kathy Ann......
  25. Georgie...if I were that undertreated I would be dragging around. Of all my symptoms...fatigue is not one of them. I have good energy, my hair isnt dry, my skin isnt dry. My labs are normal. Believe me, I *know* what its like to be Hypo. About a month after RAI my TSH went up to 26.5. I was Hypo and I had the symptoms. My labs reflect my...
