    ARCHIVED Gerd !

    Ooohhh....ok. Thanks.
  2. I didn't have an IgG test. I was tested for anti-gliadin IgA and tTG IgA. I've had IgG food testing done which showed nothing and recently had some other unrelated bloodwork done. After those results my doctor told me I'm a low-immune responder. My IgG is too low compared to most people. Maybe this is why my IgG food sensitivity test came back with nothing...

    ARCHIVED Gerd !

I know I should know this but...what is GERD?
  4. I don't know that these people are "burying" themselves in anger because they didnt partake in your idea. I have actively posted in this thread but in my life I'm definately not burying myself in anger. This was just a place to vent my frusterations....to say that the doctor issue is consuming our lives or causing us to be unproductive hateful people is quite...
  5. I consider myself to be positive as well. I chose to join in on this topic because I can RELATE to it...my experience just ended with me switching insurance plans as of the first of this year. My experience is still fresh and I wanted to discuss it here...with others who've had similar experiences. Its therapeutic for me to write out my feelings...its something...
  6. I don't think anyone would have a problem if someone were to post that they don't share the same opinion about doctors but have sympathy for those who have had bad experiences. I believe there are some posts on this thread that were truelly supportive even if not in agreement with the topic. What is not welcome on this thread are the comments meant to make...
  7. I would also like to add that I'm very disappointed in the fact that after participating on this board (in a positive manner) for 6 months I now find myself being attacked because I had horrible experiences with my doctors. Thank God that the people in my life are not so judgemental as those on this board. Thank God that the people in my life have compassion...
  8. Yes, you can be off gluten for several months and still test with Enterolab. I was off gluten 4 months prior to my test and it came back positive.
  9. Ok....clearly you are either overly-sensitive or dont understand that some people can have mature discussions....even with differing experiences or opinions. I was NOT "going after" celiac3270 as you put it. I've had discussions with celiac3270 in the past where we did not share the same opinion but as far as I know we have no problems getting along on this...
  10. celiac3270, Yes, 14 years is a long time to be sick. From reading your history with doctors what I'm seeing is the doctors were trying. You were sent to the GI early on, you were tested and diagnosed with Celiac. It seems like your doctors, even though you had to see a few, were searching for a diagnosis. It may have been slow progress but with each doctor...
  11. Well....I don't know if we can be sure anything is 100% safe because even products labeled gluten-free can have minute amounts of gluten in them. I don't think the company is doing anyhting wrong from a gluten standpoint. I dont really think it matters what their description of Celiac is.....as long as they take food allergy/intolerance matters seriously...
  12. Funny
  13. Judy, Enterolab does the gene testing for $150. That sounds alot better than $400.
  14. OMG...your appt. from hell pretty much sounds exactly like ALL the appt's I had with the doctors in my HMO. Its pretty frusterating to say the least. I have to say that my Endocrinolgist wasn't half bad when it came to thyroid issues but when I was scheduled for my Endoscopy (after already being gluten-free 6 months) he said if you want to know if you're...
  15. Well...I've been there done that. It got to the point where it seemed like everything was"contaminating" me. I just wasnt getting better, after originally feeling great on the diet (only lasted a couple weeks) everything seemed to get me sick. After a couple months I decided there had to me more going on than just gluten contamination. I've been looking for...
  16. Yeah...they're gonna put me on antibiotics. Not sure which one yet....I've been reading and it looks like Flagyl (sp?) is the one usually prescribed for treating C. Diff. I'm not sure what they're gonna give me though. Whatever it is...I hope it works!
  17. All of my testing is through BioHealth as well. They are the lab which detected C. Diff. I'm now waiting for the results on H. Pylori. I'm impatient. I want to get on the antibiotics asap. They wont treat the C. Diff until my results for H.P. are in. Are you having any side effects from the treatment?
  18. Is your pic the right type of file? I had some problems with that at first. I had to change the file type in order for it to take.
  19. If you are at the correct place "edit my avatar"....you shouldnt have any problems getting your pic up. Is your pic too big?
  20. For some reason the reply function isnt working with the pm's right now. I have no idea why. If you want to add a photo to your posts go to "my controls" and then go to "edit my avatar". You can add your photo (avatar) from there. Hope that helps.
  21. This is still a problem for me.....why??
  22. Many people have negative bloodtests....even some who are Celiac had negative bloodwork but positive biopsy. I'd go ahead and try the diet like you originally planned and see if it works. After a few weeks you can test yourself with gluten. If symptoms return you will have your answer. The gluten challenge is as good a test as any. If your body doesnt like...
  23. I'm all for it! Will write a letter....this would be more beneficial than getting on Oprah. Its not gonna do any good for a bunch of people to identify with Celiac if the doctors arent going to do their part in recognizing symptoms and ordering the proper tests.
  24. I think these are all great ideas but I think its more of a problem with doctors having too much on their plates. The doctors ARE aware of Celiac....they're just not testing for it. My doctor was aware of it....he told me it was on their top 10 list. Top 10 diseases that they are misdiagnosing. Even with that knowledge he never mentioned it to me once. People...
  25. Don't assume to know ME...I have never sat around doing nothing for my health. Everyone around me was/is proud and amazed at how much knowledge I aquired and how much determination I had to get better. I NEVER sat around feeling sorry for myself. I was at the doctors ofice at least once a week for 2 years....looking for answers. It wasnt me who wasnt trying...
