  1. Are you sure you're not accidently getting some gluten? My weight starts dropping fast if I get glutened...I think because I havent really healed yet....also its very bad if I repeatedly get glutened. This is when I look scary thin.
  2. Thats what I thought too...guess I'll just stick with my original decision to NEVER try the stuff again. The hot cereal probably tastes just like the little beads...nasty.
  3. GREAT!!! Thanks alot....I'll check it out.
  4. Yeah...we talked about this yesterday...maybe rearranging things and putting up some signs on where to put things. People are careless though...It'll be hard to *train* them. Kaiti...I'm hoping we can keep ALL the flour in the bakery only and away from my area..I guess I'll have to wait and see how it goes. I worked for only 3 days 2 weeks ago....it was...
  5. Well....after seeing how many people seem to *like* the stuff I was thinking about giving it another chance. Stephanie...I saw the Quinoa flakes hot cereal at Whole Foods and I picked up the box...almost took it...but said "nah"....remembering what it tasted like last time. The Quinoa I tried before kinda resembled little beads in a box..does the hot cereal...
  6. CHEESECAKE!!!!! I love cheesecake...its one of my most favorite things in the world! Last year someone got me a whole cheesecake from the Cheescake Factory for my b-day...I didn't eat the whole thing. Many many days recently I've thought about cheesecake and wished that I had eaten that *whole* cake....what was I thinking!!!! That would be sooo awesome...
  7. How come I can never find good stuff like that when I go to Whole Foods? I'm only aware of the stuff listed gluten-free on their website...I printed the list and bring it with me to the store...half of the stuff I can't even find . Were those scones fresh from the bakery or packaged somewhere else in the store? I read once that some Whole Foods have...
  8. REALLY?? Sheesh....well I would only be breathing it in if it were flying around right? Not like if some just spilled on the floor...which is the usual scenario. I will avoid the bakery dept. like the plague for sure. There is a door seperating the bakery from my area...and my office also has a door I can close when I'm working. I'm getting desperate...
  9. Hmmm...not really what I wanted to hear . I would be bummed if I have to switch jobs. Right now I have it pretty good...I do my own thing and I have weekends off. I guess I'll just give it my best shot...maybe people will be careful not to contaminate me . If I get sick I'll just switch to the dairy dept....not really any gluten to worry about over...
  10. I'll be going back to work soon. I work in the back room of a grocery store...of course there is flour around me. My office is right next to the store's bakery. My doc says this is going to be a problem for me . However I don't work *in* the bakery...I am just *next * to the bakery. I usually would handle the store's damaged products...there is inevitably...
  11. You could look into FMLA...like the last post mentioned. My doc was going to put me on it but at the time it wasnt necessary (I wasn't in fear of losing my job). If it ever came down to that I would definately try to get FMLA.
  12. From what I understand....they are worse than the IgG antibodies I was talking about...which are usually temporary and the foods can be reintroduced after healing. I think with IgA intolerances...the problem may always be there....the same as gluten. Glueten intolerance is stronger because of the gentic factor involved. This is how my doc explained it.
  13. Where do I begin??? YES...I experienced my symptoms day in and day out for almost 3 years. It was a nightmare I also kept a journal/food diary for the past 8 months. On the days that I feel like I'm not getting better I just look back to the previous months and I'm reminded of how bad it really was. I didn't often get *immediate* reactions...I just pretty...
  14. Hmmm....Which ones are these? Are snickerdoodles the same as chewy chocolate chip cookies or does Enjoy Life just make *all* of their cookies quarter size? I'm looking for BIGGER cookies.
  15. I think the soft chewy chocolate chip cookies are pretty good....I can eat all of them at once. Not hard to do though....since they're not much bigger than a quarter.
  16. Stephanie...How do you know all this stuff? I saw a doctor today (a decent doctor for once). She gave me an explanation about all this and I was gonna explain it....but you already did It's exactly like you said....there is a big difference between IgA reactions and IgG reactions. The ELISA test that I took was for IgG antibodies.
  17. I'm really confused about all that.....how is it possible then that some sensitivities "go away" after avoidance of that food for a period of time? I've had ELISA food sensitvity tests done and the explanations that came with my test results stated that foods with "high" reactivity need to be avoided for several years if not forever. Other foods with "low...
  18. When I was eating a "normal" diet I had those symptoms everyday. I had CT scans for the sinuses (clear), an MRI for the migraines (normal) and the doc said my ears looked good . I felt like my head was going to EXPLODE...I would also get popping sounds in my ears from all the pressure. It all went away when I changed my diet...you might be sensitive to...
  19. Ha-Ha...that was funny!
  20. Does Kinnikinnick make any hot dog buns? Does *anyone* make any hot dog buns or do we just have to wrap bread around the dog? For some reason I woke up in the middle of the night worried about this ....will I ever have a normal hot dog again?
  21. Nini, Sorry you feel so bad...It definately sounds like you got "glutened" from the hash browns. Those are the same symptoms I get except for the "D". I wake up several times in the night with that same numbness/tingly feeling....also sweating. Hope you are better soon.
  22. I was having a hard time with apples at first....I think part of it is the acid like someone else already mentioned but also when I started peeling them I noticed I could then tolerate them. I started to peel all the fruits I eat and I'm not having problems.
  23. I've had DH blisters on my arms (I think) but only one time was it full blown...and I still have scars from it. Ever since, I usually just get tiny bumps which don't bother me as long as I don't scratch. They only seem to show up on my arms...except for one blister which shows up on the bridge of my nose...it's always in the exact same spot and it will itch...
  24. Yeah...I see your point and its very true. However, not in my case...sick or not I don't let anyone control me EVER. I sort of tend to rebel when people start ordering me around....I've just been like that all my life. It causes problems for me at times I don't think any illness can change that part of me...but I am learning to voice my concerns in a more...
  25. I'm wondering about this too. Why is gluten considered lifelong...compared to other foods with elevated antibodies?
