  1. I think this happened to many of us. I used to have diarrhea all the time, yet still, I think the gluten did a bigger number on my head. I first was on Xanax, then Paxil, which I was on for many years. Even now, after being gluten free for over 9 years, if I get glutened, I have neurological symptoms. I still have some balance problems, but that is because...
  2. This same thing happened in Myspace, and as long as you do not click on the links, it doesn't effect you. I had several of these come to me in Mysapce, and I just deleted them. I haven't had any issues so far in my Facebook.
  3. I no longer use Hershey's Syrup, but it never glutened me. How about the pop corn...was it labeled gluten free? Some roasted peanuts do contain gluten, but I don't know which ones.
  4. Ok, how about we take this one step further and realize, celiac is not all there is to gluten intolerance. Like has been said many times, celiac is simply one tiny part of gluten intolerance, it is not the end stage. Maybe those of us who get much worse reactions, have a stronger case of intolerance than those who are celiac. Also, maybe you can have celiac...
  5. I have never seen proof either. I read last week, that 1 in 20 type 1 diabetics are celiac, it has something to do with the same gene types. What happens is gluten intolerance causes vitamin and mineral deficiencies, which then open the door to other auto-immune diseases, and other issues. My neurologist believes my neuropathy is a direct result of...
  6. I'm thinking it will not matter which breed of cow, if you are dairy intolerant or lactose intolerant, you will find a milk product you can use. I have read that even goats milk is too much like dairy, and myst dairy intolerant's can tolerate it either. I did find this:
  7. From "Healthier Without Wheat" I have always said, non-celiac gluten intolerant people may be much sicker than a diagnosed celiac. I know I have many more issues than a lot of the celiac's I read about in these forums. I have many more issues than my own sister whom is a diagnosed celiac, and our father whom is gluten intolerant. Just because...
  8. Celiac is only a small part of gluten intolerance. Gluten intolerance absolutely runs in families. My sister is a diagnosed celiac, our dad and I are gluten intolerant. I have a daughter who is gluten intolerant, she just hasn's fully accepted it, I also have 2 sons who may be. At a recent support meeting, we had a husband and wife sign up as members...
  9. I agree, I think our bodies determine the cholesterol, I to do not think it's necessarily from the foods we eat, not for some of us anyways. I do believe the levels can get out of control, if a person is the out of contol type of eater. We wll know certain foods are not good for us, especially in huge amounts. I do believe if a gluten intolerant person...

  11. My HDL was 51, my LDL was 133, too high. My total is 200, down from 218 a year before that. I see my doc on Friday, we will be testing this again to see where I am now. 200 is ok, so I didn't worry about it much. It's not my foods causing this, has to be my body.
  12. This is one of the truest statements ever. Dr. Wangen agrees...it is a great book, isn't it. It explains everything so well. Dr. Wangen is also gluten intolerant. The lady who put The Gluten File together is a good friend of mine. She is very well informed, plus gluten intolerant. I was self-diagnosed, then my PCP diagnosed me as celiac. Quest...
  13. I'm not sure about others, I know I always had to know where the bathroom was in any given scenerio. If I didn't know where there was a bathroom, or was in a place with no restrooms facilities, then my anticipatory anxiety kicked in. Gluten messes with our heads, just as much as with our tummies. It's an equal opportunity poison! Before I was gluten...
  14. I remember my mom telling us, when they were kids, they chewed wax for gum...imagine that. Ewwwwwwwww. The wax on the apples maybe be one of the reasons I have never liked apple peel. I always peel them before eating.
  15. Hmmm, this sounds oddly familiar Open Original Shared Link Gluten Sensitivity - Just because you do not have celiac disease, doesn
  16. I can't use flax, in any form. I can't have grains anymore, due to the fact that they often have some CC. Could you try going a week without pasta, see if that helps. Natural foods. I eat chicken breast and veggies for supper. Your hubby could have potatoes, and you could have the pasta, if you need too. Then you would maybe find out if it is the...
  17. Me too. Apple and peanut butter every morning. I think yellow delicious is the best, plus gala's. My peanut butter is Skippy Natural, only 4 ingredients. For years after I went gluten free, I could not eat before work. I have been gluten free for 9 years, and have ate breakfast before work for probably 5 of those years. All my life, we...
  18. I think all of us have these dreams. Mine was a delicious fire grilled hot dog on a bun. It was so good, then I remembered I can have buns...I woke up in tears, still worried I had glutened myself. It ruined my entire day!!!
  19. We have a legitimate worry about what is in the wax on our fruits and veggies. The wax contents do not have to be listed, and we worry about what we eat. It's tough being the sensitive ones. It's tough worrying about everything we put in our mouth.
  20. You are right, and you have every right to be angry. Many of us have suffered our entire life with issues. I had aches and pains in my 20's and 30's, my mom told me I was too young for all this complaining. By 40, then I was an age that complaining was ok, because, "You are getting older, and aging sucks!" All those years, my nerves were dying a slow...
  21. Open Original Shared Link Thanks Ann...this alone proves we can't "believe nothing that you hear, and only half of what you see!" People put so much trust in the FDA, and they are only as good as the laws they police. These huge companies are not afraid of a little fine...they continue doing as they please until they get busted. This says they "have...
  22. Sorry, but I have never seen this to be proven either. Gluten intolerant people suffer malabsorption, and extreme nutrient deficiencies just the same. Symptoms are severe for them too. I do realize there are varing degrees of villi damage, just as there are varing degrees of damage to non-celiac gluten intolerants. As I have said, my sister is a diagnosed...
  23. There is no such thing as "end stage celiac", you either are celiac, or you are gluten intolerant. Celiac is not the end stage of gluten intolerance, that has never been proven. There are different levels of sensitivity, which many of us are much more sensitive than others. Gemini is much more sensitive, as is Patty, me, and many others. Some say I am...
  24. Thank you, Angle. I may have to try and find this book at the library, maybe look her up online. I too, found a great book written on headaches along...The Headache Cure, by 2 neurologists. I do have 2 slightly herniated disc in my neck, and I do have muscle spasms in my shoulders. This book says if you have ever been in an auto accident where your...
  25. I wonder if doctors ever listen to the stupid things that come out of their mouth. Even gluten free, I can't get enough nutrients from my food. He/she is so wrong. I am betting there are more people deficient in America than the so called healthy people. I have hip problems, and so far, absolutely no problems with calcium. I had a bone density test...
