  1. It looks like you may get to be your neighborhood gluten-free baker then! It takes some practice but many people actually prefer it. My husband even made eclairs recently ( we are in the UK and just substitute Doves Farm gluten-free flours). I hope you track down what is affecting your daughter. I did well for a couple of months, then got hit 5.times in...
  2. love2, with swollen lips and vomiting that does sound like a possible allergic reaction. May be worth talking to a doctor to see if you sshould have epipens around. I am not an expert, but my son has nut allergy, and we were advised that if you have had a reaction it can become more severe on subsequent exposures.
  3. I am surviving the cheese ok so far. I wnt to the movies with my Mum this week, and she not only had an ice cream lolly thing ( not sure what you call that) but decided to discuss how nice it was, and how she nearly had Hagen daz but they only had cookies and.cream and that's not her favourite. I think I managed to grunt. Just as well I wasn't on a sugar...
  4. Dinner was lamb steak, spinach, carrots, broccoli, french beans. No cheese. Doing well on whole30, have more energy and focus, but that means I am catching up on jobs. I am also going to bed as early as I can. Talk of snow here this weekend. Might even get below 0. We know nothing of snow here and the whole country grinds to a halt with 6 inches...
  5. Hi Breaking Glass Glad you found us here. Isn't it great when those puzzle pieces start to come together? That is exactly how I described it a few months ago. Wel come on in, ask lots of questions, rant if you need to. Maybe start a new thread and tell us your story if you'd like to. Just one thing, if you want to be tested, blood tests and or endoscopy...
  6. Thanks - I am using the mobile site. If I go back to the main topics via the blue and white square button rather than using the phone back button it marks things as read. Cheers Mw
  7. I am still finding that posts are not appearing as read after I have read them. I am able to mark all as read and clear the board, but it is not working for individual posts. Any suggestions?
  8. Hey love2, sorry you got hit, glad you found a bright side. If it is any consolation I managed to eat 3 wholemeal bread rolls, even after commenting that it was remarkable how much like real bread. Someone had left the wheat ones in the freefrom section. Doh. Good healing
  9. I am finding that posts do not become unmarked after I have read them Thanks Mw
  10. Thanks veggiegaL and shadow! Both look good
  11. Burdee so true about if only we could listen to our bodies more! Those damn label changes... I have just been told I need reading glasses, and I swear it is squinting at all those stupid labels
  12. Thanks so much freedomseek What you say sounds so familiar. In a way, the whole30 total elimination is the easy bit for me I think. I have cut it out several times before, and then it has taken just a little bit to get me going again. Then off goes the whole cycle again. It is interesting you had such a strong reaction post whole30. I suspect I will...
  13. I only made it halfway through. It wasn't adding up to me. I kind of wanted it to all be true but it didn't feel right. The review above makes perfect sense to me, bad use of some decent data. It is a shame as I think it is probably broadly well intentioned, and there is probably some good stuff in there amongst the poor use of research. I am wondering...
  14. Hiya I have found UK doctors a mixed bunch tbh, I get what I can from them but most of my learning comes from here and reading. 9 weeks is not long enough. I hate to say it, but since I told my husband that the whole house had to go gluten-free if I kept getting glutened, I have been much better. It wasn't that he was consciously lax, but it is a good...
  15. I was wheat free, didn't know about gluten-free problems then. I did have a number of early miscarriages, but wanted to say I had my 2 lovelies at 37 and 39. I agree with the others,, get tested to check no major issues, have some suppliements, make healthy food choices. I found it comforting to keep my tummy warm and not have very cold drinks early on...
  16. My fluffy monster says stay indoors too and sends moggy purrs Yeah, right, like you can tell a cat what to do :)
  17. If there is one thing we do well in England it is castles . Mind you, France iz good too. Have you done Carcassonne? Can't help on Downtown, haven't followed a series very well since Buffy and Angel, apart from Being Human. More vampires, very British I think.
  18. I think balsamic will be one of my early reintroductions post whole30 then Cheers l2
  19. I read somewhere that cheaper balsamic may not be gluten-free, but I can't find where. Our labeling is slightly different in the UK and I sometimes get confused. I am very happy to be told I can crack into the balsamic from a gluten-free point of view. I need to check if it is also whole30 compliant. This all gets complicated some days
  20. I have been thinking about logistics for the compound and road trip on the bac k of my other thread on soy substitution. We are going to need some mighty spreadsheets to keep up with all the different stuff we can and can't eat. I crack up when I order a st@&$%#& decaf soya latte (like, seriously, what is left?!!) but can you imagine all of us...
  21. Thanks love2 I reckon I can do that if I can get my head round the balsamic? So IH, do you reckon 2 tsp molasses is pushing it for whole 30? I love the whole substitution thing, it cracks me up reading all the different variants we end up using
  22. I am delighted for you. Be sure to hang around and ask questions if you think gluten-free might help. I have a diagnosis of NCGI and feel way better on a gluten-free diet. I hope you get to the bottom of things. Good luck
  23. Wow, their UK supplier even sells culturelle too. Good stuff Irish Up for any other handy hints too if anyone has them :)
