  1. If you are looking for grain-related carbs, then remember that oats, barley, wheat and rye, and kamut and spelt, only touch the grain surface. amaranth, quinoa, rice, buckwheat, corn, potatoes, teff, and so forth are all grains, too.
  2. choose a fruit with a lower GI, as your body might be unable to digest high GI fruits right now.
  3. it doesn't taste like twizzlers, to be honest (trust me, I felt like you... i was like, crying in the store!). but i also got sick from it because i have a severe rice intolerance, and it had rice, but i really wanted it. it was a horrible mind game i played. they are good - but definitely not like twizzlers. i do hear that the other one tastes more like...
  4. are you sure? people can often be mis-guided. when i was trying hard to gain weight, i realized i wasn't even clearing 2000 a day, which is a minimum at most for me, as i was a runner, too. have you ever tried counting for a day or two, just to see?
  5. I use their corn meal, and know a lot of people who do on the boards.
  6. Running Rabbit, makes one too. I've only had the Candy Tree one.
  7. Both of the ones on my site below taste good and don't have to be heated. (my basic bread and my flax bread).
  8. justme - i'm on a similar path but refuse to cook/bake with gluten. my sister is a pastry chef and a cook and is going to open up a business on the side, and i am going to do allergen baking and cooking for her business. that way, her guests never have to second guess having cross-contamination, because they will be 'safe' in my kitchen. personally, i would...
  9. no lister, i understand you are frustrated and did not feel attacked. i wish i could help you more glad you are feeling better today. just so you know - feeling frightened can cause stress - whether it feels stressful or not.
  10. right. i forget that you guys have to pay. my ignorance.
  11. okay, let me get this straight. honestly, you can't just go to the emerg?
  12. The ink is fine. Be careful of the lotion - mine contained wheat and I bought vitamin E instead.
  13. Yes, esp. if you don't have it often (the flour). If you're fine with the other stuff, I wouldn't think that you're soy intolerant, but if soy flour bothers you, I would stay away.
  14. perhaps sticking to a whole foods diet for now would be best, than buying anything premade. it would not only be easiest, but safest with all of the restrictions. you'll be amazed how easy and delicious things are fresh, seasoned in spices and fresh herbs.
  15. soy flour in general is difficult to digest.
  16. i don't understand why you are waiting until monday. can't you go to the emerg?
  17. Any dried beans that are packaged should be fine. I've never seen any without only the bean as the ingredient.
  18. okay, well, i was just suggesting in case it happens again (where you are strapped for cash), and those are just suggestions, not what you should buy. just trying to help, lister.
  19. the heat won't kill the gluten. lister, to be honest, if you're strapped for cash buy cheaper proteins (like canned tuna, nuts, eggs, and legumes, in addition to meat that is on sale), and don't buy rice chips... those are empty calories (the chips), that's why you can eat the whole bag.
  20. just so you know, fountain pop and canned/bottled pop are different ingredients. i know for sure that both a&w in the can and the fountain pop is gluten-free (i've called, rootbeer is my only soda of choice!), but just so everyone is aware. fountain pop is syrup + water.
  21. i googled and this is what popped up. green&black is debatable... their FAQ mentions something odd about some wheat but no gluten. you might want to re-check that out, i was just doing this quickly. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link this list i have bookmarked, and this is the chocolate link: Open Original Shared Link ...
  22. I have never heard of a mainstream soda not gluten-free. Barq's, A&W and Mug Root Beers are ALL definitely gluten-free.
  23. Open Original Shared Link On that website you can search for gluten-free meals at Bed and Breakfasts, and I searched Nova Scotia for you.
  24. i just found that everything improved as i went as natural as possible. my apologies. good luck!
  25. sure, i would love to link you! (if that's what you meant?) edited: i linked you, but on mine i often linked people's names. what do you want me to link you as? thanks!!!
