  1. amy's new rice crust pizza is also casein free. i haven't tried it because i make everything myself from scratch, but i think a few people on here have.
  2. in addition, chickpeas/legumes are simply just very gassy. it's like people having to ease themselves onto soy. it just might be difficult for you to digest - try it in smaller amounts (if you're willing to give it another shot)... like only replace 1/4 of the flour total with it. you should always combine bean flours with others for that reason.
  3. I was NOT planning on it!
  4. i can assure you i am not fully healed (whatever that might even be) and it's been a year. patience. you're not dying.
  5. Thank you I figure if I get sick, I'll know why, as the whole house otherwise is gluten-free. I'm a little nervous, but it's temporary!
  6. Lister - I believe you are still relatively young, if I remember. Is it possible to ask someone in your family to lend you some money for your medication? At least that would provide you some relief. Congrats on giving up the herb. Smart move. Could have gotten cross contaminated.
  7. thanks for the responses. it's a kitten, so i'll talk to my sister about briefly switching and see what we can do.
  8. Hi everyone, My sister is moving in with me for two weeks with her kitty. Her kitty has gluten-y food. When I go visit her, I don't play with it, because I am a notorious hands-to-my-mouth type of person, always biting my nails and whatnot, so I don't want to get glutened by her cat food. Anyway, I am a little concerned about the cat bringing it around...
  9. kbtoyssni is correct, lister. for six months i was consuming bob's red mill carob powder and ended up losing about 40lbs and was in the hospital - my levels were insane. little did i know, the carob powder (naturally gluten-free) was made in his gluten-containing facility. however, everything that is slapped with 'gluten-free' i have never had a problem...
  10. Hi Evie. I get Bob's Red Mill brand - if you have those around you.
  11. I react to rice and buckwheat, but not to quinoa or amaranth of corn. Try some others and see how you feel.
  12. butterball and pillar's make turkey sausages, which are much lower fat than pork sausage.
  13. teff is great. i make pancakes/bread/muffins with it and they taste somewhat like graham. it's a good alternative.
  14. i get the same reaction no matter what, but i've never had a 'lot' of gluten because i get brain-fog immediately, and stop eating whatever i'm eating. but my symptoms vary, just not hugely.
  15. my sister bought me a pretty lipgloss today, and i called Revlon and confirmed gluten-free, but she cannot confirm casein free. i think it is: i checked out the ingredients, but can anyone shed some light? thanks: Ingredients: Polybutene, Octyldodecanol, Disostearyl Malate, Polyethylene, Trioctyldodecyl Citrate, Tocopheyrl Acetate, Aloe Barbadensis...
  16. In addition to everyone elses responses, I will add: I am intolerant to rice, but rice starch doesn't bother me. Rice flour and actual rice and everything else does. I am intolerant to the onion family (garlic, onion, leeks, asparagus), but I can have powder of garlic and onion in very small amounts. 'real' onions give me hives and my chest gets very, very...
  17. melons, esp. watermelon, have a really high glycemic index. if you have issues with your sugar levels, it could be that.
  18. because I am Canadian, and enterolab wasn't quite an option for me, I did it through an elimination diet.

    ARCHIVED Symptoms

my 'layover' lasts about seven to ten days. hope you feel better.
  20. Just so you know, the Uncheese Cookbook is great for making your own cheese. In addition, you don't HAVE to be soy-free if you're fine with it. I'm extremely sensitive to casein (as well as having celiac disease), and I don't eat meat or eggs, so soy is my main protein.
  21. pillar's.
  22. lymetoo - can you pm me with your email address? i dont know how else to send it. thanks! i've been to quebec city only once. i am from southern ontario, near niagara falls.
  23. Glad you are feeling a little better, Lisa. I'm glad you got the list!
  24. I am not sure what the list is here. It's a huge PDF file that i got from an autism site because I am both gluten and casein free. oceangirl - I hope you got my email. I sent it yesterday.
  25. the loblaws corp. often will order in foods.
