  1. Okay! Just making sure, as malnourishment of any sort can be a catalyst in that. As a diabetic (you, not me) I am sure you are extremely aware of your intake! I hope you figure it out.
  2. Hi Gwendolene. Are you familiar with the company "Enjoy Life"? They make everything there all allergen-free - including chocolate chips and many cookies and so forth that are soft and donut-like. You can make O' Henry yourself with the chocolate chips, if need be.
  3. I'm not sure if it's gluten-free, but I can assure that there are much healthier ways to lose weight.
  4. Hi there, Just wanted to say welcome to the boards - you'll find it very helpful. I'm also from Ontario if you need help with sources for things. I can't really add anything already to the great advice you've gotten, but wanted to say hello!
  5. Are you [sure that you are] eating a balanced diet of proteins/carbohydrates/good fats?
  6. Hi lonewolf, The other day I made a delicious crisp in my crockpot (the recipe is on my site, but if you're a good cook and bake, i'm sure you have a delicious recipe yourself!). you could make shortcakes (or similar), and then bring int he crockpot, and they can pour some warm crisp overtop! (or maybe even just a compote)
  7. This, too, happened to me (diagnosed inthe summer then went back). The girls were really careful, and even one of them bought different dog food for her dog. There were a few issues here and there, but generally, it was fine. I used all of my own things. Unfortunately, I ended up getting extremely ill, left my apt, moved home, and commuted to finish my degree...
  8. Hi there, I have a betta, and all of the betta food also was not gluten-free, except for dried blood worms. I am not sure if your fishies can have that (you might want to ask at the store), but it is fine. Hope that helps!
  9. Yes, Jello is.
  10. I use "Magic" baking powder, if that helps.
  11. I make homemade bread, and none of them fall apart when making french toast.
  12. Whole Foods and Clover Leaf are what we have here.
  13. Nature's Path cereals are made in their dedicated facility (they have two). Are you sure you aren't sensitive to an ingredient?
  14. Thanks Peter. I bought some Stokeley's Sauerkraut today at the market, and I was going to wait 'til Tuesday to call instead of using it tomorrow (becasue I'm sure they will be closed), but I'll just go ahead then. I'm only cooking with it anyway, not eating it myself. Thanks again.
  15. Hi there, I knew I had read this a bunch of times so I searchd "Crohn's" in this thread and came up with this: Open Original Shared Link I hope that helps a bit!
  16. Thanks! if the breadmaker is a good price, i'd get it if you're in the market for one. mine was not expensive (i think 79$ (canadian) and works really well. i use it, or sometimes just the oven, to make my own, which i would assume might be better than buying it. i don't know because i've always been allergic to rice, so i've never tried pre-made bread...
  17. i thought you meant added. but either way, for me, it's a healthy choice. thanks for the clarification!
  18. Hi Cornhusker, I hope you improve soon. I haven't used that in particular, but I wanted to say that since going gluten-free, any medication in general has been much stronger. I don't ever really take anything, but even 1 tylenol makes me a little woozy. Could it be that?
  19. As far as I have heard, this is a huge red flag. I know that there ARE gluten-free ones, but not always.
  20. Hey Turtle, I don't have that one, but I went to a seminar led by Donna Washburn and Heather Butt, who both said that it doesn't really matter WHICH bread machine you get. I would just suggest that if it is more expensive, it might not be worth the extra dough (ha!). PS. Do you use bubblebath? I'm looking for a nice gluten-free one.!
  21. Hi Gabby, I see you are from Toronto, so you would be familar with teh Loblaws Corporation grocers... I know that their chickens are NOT gluten-free. I know that isn't what you posted, but incase Whole Foods falls through, they are not an alternative. But Swiss Chalet are, and you could buy a whole chicken to go!
  22. The only nuts / seeds that I buy sans shell are Kirkland Brand (Costco) almonds.
  23. my nutritional yeast has no msg. i'm not saying your beliefs are wrong, or mine are right, just saying. it's a great b12 source.
  24. How ironic, I was just coming here to ask, too. (Canadian brands, too, if possible!)
