  1. i know bloating isn't fat, but if you are starving yourself, your body will STORE fat to counteract. this could result in a puffy stomach.
  2. Thank you, Patti. And Lisa, I've replied to you with my email address
  3. unlike their cereals, nature's path produces their waffles in a non-gluten free facility. i would think it might have something to do with cross-contamination. i've never tried them (nor would i, becasue of this - far easier to make my own waffles instead of taking a risk), but i would chalk it up to that.
  4. Lisa, I have a good pharmaceutical list if you'd like it. Hit me with a PM.
  5. if you are starving yourself, your body is storing fat for dear life to protect you.
  6. my apologies. i hope you figure it out and feel better.
  7. i am not positive, but isn't a lunchable just a pre-packed cheese and cracker (well, in this case, nacho) ordeal? because if you're concerned about cross contamination, you could just buy corn tortillas, cheese and salsa
  8. heat. i can't even wear my rings in this heat.
  9. my own recipe, which is on my site below, is my favourite. everyone, even not celiacs, enjoy it, and it is open to a lot of variety. perhaps i'm biased.
  10. you might be surprised - speak with the director, providing them with a plethora of easy information. from snacks to reactions to that your child cannot paint pasta . i am sure they have been hit with this a million times, unless they are brand new. i still speak to my pre-school teacher, and when i was diagnosed, she was very familiar with it and said...
  11. I used Redken for years (not the curl one), and too found it had wheat in it. I was really irritated because I loved my fancy salon shampoo! I switched to Dove and soon realized that you can get quality shampoo from a $4 bottle!
  12. it's probably just from something you ate. i sometimes i have camoflagued poop, too. i just checked my medication list which is from march 2006 and it says it is gluten-free.
  13. As long as your stools are normal otherwise than a little green, it's normal. Poop ranges from browns to greens - really just watch for black (blood, unless you've had a lot of pepto!) or white/mucusy. Make sure your antibiotics are gluten-free, also.
  14. Elizabeth - I went through something very similar, as I was diagnosed at a clinic and did not have access to my records (long story). Anyway, the health services at the university had four years (becasue this happened in my fourth) of referrels and tests and my appointments through them (from sleep clinics to MRIs, and so on). I had went to them for most...
  15. Slightly off topic... However: CanadianKaren, I love that quote "An optimist laughs to forget. A pessimist forgets to laugh." I have that written down. Just so you know, it's by Tom Nansbury.
  16. i wouldn't write off all legumes. when i first went gluten-free, peanut butter bothered me - but not other legumes. there are tonnes of other nut butters available. anyway, peanut butter only has 3 grams of protein per serving,so it's not really doing you much injustice cutting it out. basically, if they bother you, don't eat them. i do not consume...
  17. when i get glutented, i get heartburn. pepto helps (also helps with my poop)!
  18. i went through this forever until i went gluten-free. they did test after test and found nothing. i was horrified. i went to sleep clinics, but because they 'wake' you when you're there, it didn't happen because it happened when i awoke on my on. they disappeared after i went gluten-free. i understand your fear. honestly, it was the scariest thing in the...
  19. hi there, and welcome to our forums. your weight journey sounds like mine - i started at 125lbs, got quite ill and down to 78lbs, now am teetering around 105lbs, also. did you, by any chance, lose a lot of muscle in your weight loss? i did, and that is part of the reason of the non-rapid regain. that being said, if you're worried about your weight...
  20. i was there witha friend last week and asked. i don't know where you would see a container for these, but they are gluten-and-casein free, with the ol' ass covering comment about the same facility as other products with these ingredients. i did not have one, and nor would i, however, this is what they told me.
  21. i dont eat pre-made dressings, but i know that kraft will list all their sources, newman's own has a list on their website, and renee's wellness are all gluten-free.
  22. you're welcome. i use vaseline and burt's bees hand salve instead without a problem. hope that helps.
  23. "allan" brand candy canes, i know, list all their sources... therefore, i would assume that their candies are also listed.
  24. people who have candida (which can be associate with celiac) are to stay away from mushrooms because of the yeast.
  25. hemp (as tarnalberry mentioned), or vega (is what i have).
