THIS is the reason, I stress my celiac disease as "I get really, really get sick if I eat any wheat/flour or wheat/flour products" when ordering at a restaurant.
Yeah, speak your thought Karen.
Will you let us know if she replies?

I love it! And it's gluten free, paraben free, lead free, SOY free.... They are a bit on the high end for lipsticks (or for ME), but they do test, which is an added safeguard for me.
The color seems to last and only a simple gloss will carrry you further into your day.
A good find for me and just wanted to share.

You might already know this Zibby, but I will post for others reading:

...And no, I'm not proficient in where yeast hides, so I will bow out.
-
Thanks. I don't injest my shampoo/conditioner. I make a point to keep it ouf of my face in the shower b/c I don't want to loose my contacts. I don't wear lipstick, never have liked it. When I do need chapstick, I already made sure it was gluten free.
I choose gluten free shampoos and lipsticks/glosses, and don't worry about other cosmetics ....mainly because when I do get ill, that's one thing I can eliminated immediately. It closes the gap for me when I'm trouble shooting an issue. Especially when there are so many gluten free shampoos available.

I don't see yeast in it but I'm wondering if there is yeast from the wine in the ingredients- hidden yeast.
Most ingredients are not hidden. But, if you feel uncomfortable, you can contact the company at www.kikkomanusa.com (assuming you are in the US)
I do like the labeling as it states : meets the FDA proposed guidelines for a gluten free declaration. (bold is mine)
-
Hi, can someone please tell me if Kikkoman gluten free teriyaki sauce had yeast? I see it has wine in the ingredients. I'm new to eating yeast free. Thank you!
Yeast is not listed on the bottle I have in my fridge.

I am new at this because my daughter has just started a gluten free diet but they have been giving her the turkey sausage at school and she has had problems. So I am concern if it is gluten free. I have read that it is but when I email the company they tell me that the only items they have certified gluten free is Sara Lee deli meats and aidells sausage. They do not promote or certify that any of their other products are gluten free. Can anyone help me with this. I am so confused. Thanks
Welcome! Generally, a product that is certified means that it has been tested for it's gluten level. If other products do not contain gluten and are not tested, they are not certified. All gluten free labeling, at this time in the US is totally voluntary.
The turkey sausage could be contaminated from the gril, even though gluten free. But I would revisit her diet. If new to the diet, she needs to be off dairy for a while until she can heal. Dairy can mimick being glutened as well. Once healed, it can be slowly introduced.
Keep a food diary as well as you can, since she is at school. That will be helpful.
Edited: And all food may be problematic for a while, until some healing can take place. Be careful and have patience.

Many things that you use to have, you can....just with a bit of a twist.
When you are newly diagnosed, it's always a large transition. Take little steps. Begin with cooking simple with fresh veggies, meats, fish, fresh fruit, and potatoes and rice. Shop on the outside of the store and stay away from processed foods. Use salt, pepper and simple spices for flavor.
Tell your family the truth..that you have been diagnosed with a medical condition called Celiac Disease. Educate yourself and share your knowledge. Yes, this is a great place to learn and we can help you along your way.
In my community, we often share in a pot-luck type of gathering. I always bring something that I can enjoy as a meal for me, as well share with others.
Take a minute to catch your breath.......it will be okay and the road to good health is ahead of you.

This is a REALLY old topic now, but for anyone who lands here searching for PB info. thought I'd add that MaraNatha peanut butter is also gluten-free and absolutely delicious!
Yes this is a very old topic.
I eat Jiff every day. I don't know of any name brand peanut butter that contains gluten.

It's a common red flag here, that any fast food restaurant, is not the best choice for those of us with Celiac Disease. We issue cautions all the time. But, for some silly reason, Americans are insistant on their fast foods, even the gluten intolerant among us. We are such a small percentage who would frequent those establishments, yet, we demand that they conform to our diet. It won't happen - reality check! It's not cost wise.
BUT, I do applaud those who make an attempt. MY first attemps at gluten free eating was not too acccurate either. I am fortunate that when I need to, I can eat something at McD's and Wendy's. And I always assume the risk, should I get ill. I never fault the establishment because it was me that place the order. And to be very honest about it, one glutening will not kill me. It just helps me make a better choice next time.
I think we should all be good Citizens and encourage progressive menus from the restaurants around us.
PS: I would assume a blog (one persons opinion) and a forum (several peoples opinion) would be similar. But a forum can be progressive with support information provided in a post, to support an opinion - should one be expressed.

I don't have it available to me, but I have heard raves about BB.

So very happy for you LauraB! Your inspirational post can only serve as motivation, when there are down times, for the many who visit here and are struggling daily. Thank you!

I think their overlapping labels is what is confusing to me and their gluten free product list simply states chicken broth or stock.

I agree, it is not clear. Campell's is not one of the best to serve their gluten free customers - at least in the US. In Canada, Campbells offers more options.
-
Really?? I could've sworn that I saw it on their gluten free list recently. I've read through that label many times and have never seen that. Unless I'm confusing it with something else.
Swanson's 99% fat free is gluten free. They tend to look alike, so it would be easy to get them mixed up. And, yes, as others have noted, the "organic" has always contained gluten.

I was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago. It's gone, I have had check ups within that first year, none since. Best to keep my mind positive about it.
I hope you have been in touch with your oncologist over these six-five years. Cancer would be my primary concern.
AND no nutritionist has a "treatment" for Celiac Disease for money. She is a scam! The only method of relieveing symptoms is to continue to follow the gluten free diet. Please leave your nutritionist by the roadside or report her to your local Attorney Generals Office:
Come to find out, from the nutritionist that diagnosed me with celiac, I really should have finished her treatments (no matter the cost) because now I have to start the whole thing over agan.
The whole thing being a candida cleanse, sugar free diet, nutritional supplements and yes pay for it all. But hopefully it will be worth it, hopefully I will start to get back to my old self again.
And a Candida cleanse is not associated with having Celiac Disease. Perhaps you don't even have Celiac. Please go to a qualified medical professional and be tested properly. You own it to your self, you don't "owe" your nutritionist any financial gain at your discomfort!

I have learned to make my own croutons, which have a multi-purposes....to include stuffing. I keep them in the freezer and use them as I need. Salads, stuffing, tomato pudding, etc....
Cut gluten free bread into small squares, generously drizzle olive oil or whatever oil you choose, toss and season with your choice of herbs/garlic salt and roast in oven (toss several times) until crispy and browned.
...by the time you can order, this can be done in an hour or less. And DO share your new recipe, please.
Not sure this meets your needs, but it's what I got.

I am sorry to report that the ONLY Outback Steakhouse in the COUNTRY that offered gluten-free 'blooming onions' (at the Roswell, GA store) is no longer doing so. FORTUNATELY I called before I drove the 40 miles to get there and yep, they offer them no longer. Something about a filtration system, etc and they 'don't want us to get sick w/contaminated flour' etc. So sad........it was SO good while it lasted.............SO GOOD.
While it might be unfortunate for a few for a while, it's important that 'they get it". Outback is a great place to eat. I only wish they would be open for lunch.

I thought Nacho flavored. That's what I posted.
Yes you did. I had a visual in my mind...like restaurant chips that come in red, blue and natural. I thought that maybe we, in the US, were being deprived of pretty colored chips from Doritos.
-
Darn...you learn something every day. Who knew colostrum could be prescribed? Guess I need to start crawling out from under my rock.
-
please be assured that all Doritos Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips currently being sold in the US DO NOT contain wheat."

Yay! One less concern. But, don't recall seeing red Doritos?
I have seen various flavored Doritos, in the US. Or maybe I have not looked too closely, lately.
Yes, one of the flavors did list gluten. I can't remember which one, but it was always clearly listed on the ingredient listing.
Or maybe the OP was refering to the Nacho (redish in color) Doritos....probably so.

Jump in....the water is warm!
What can we do to help you?

I thought I'd pass along something interesting that I read recently about their workers.
An employee mentioned in a blog that "employees like to experiment with the ingredients after hours"....he included the recipes for "home-made donuts".
They take rolls, douse them in milkshake mix and deep fry them.
So, in addition to the normal c/c that we endure, even places with "dedicated fryers" are suspect.
I don't assume ANY fast food and/or pizza place has 100% responsible employees. But, you would think that all of the good publicity they get, (this article also mentioned their terrific health benefits) would lead to better supervision.
Just thought you all should know.
I would assume that you have acccurate substantiation for your post? If so, please post it. Have you contacted the corportate office? Blogs are not considered to be an accurate assessment. And slamming established restaurants based on that information might not be a good thing. If you have FACTS, please present them as such. If, opinion, please clearify your statement, as stated as Board Rule #5. Thanks
Yeah......just sayin'.
Accuracy is very important around here.

I forgot that you moved there
YEARS ago, it was posted here that M&M's were NOT gluten free in Australia/New Zealand (?). I would think that the formulation would have changed by this point.
Of course, the crispy and the pretzel's are NOT gluten free in the US.
Chocolate and HFC Syrup both give me heatburn, althought not gluten free, I know to limit my exposure.

I live in a small south east town, so we are way down the pecking order for available new gluten free products and they may have been out for some time....BUT, Against the Grain Sesame Bagles are the best gluten free find this year.
I toast them with some butter and some garlic salt... they are crispy and chewy. And great with a spaghetti dinner. Obviously, I highly recommend them.
