Note for any Canadians reading here: In Canada, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce is NOT gluten-free. The Canadian recipe uses malt vinegar.
I was going to note the Canadian recipe/ difference, but Peter beat me to it.
Lea & Perrins is gluten free in the US not Canada.
There is a similar situation with Campbell's US and Canada. Both have different gluten free listings.

Yup, that's why we like Heinz!

I too have my husband class reunion this weekend.
I am fortunate that the reunion is in the town where I live and I am familiar with what will be served. Nothing will work for me.
I plan on bringing a plate of peeled spiced shrimp (with old bay), gluten free crackers and a couple of samples of cheese, grapes and fresh veggies. Wine is being served, so I will drink that.
If people ask, I just say that I have food allergies. If they look like they would like to hear more, then I can elaborate.
I play on doing alot of dancing. Hope you have fun too.

I have heard that people have issues with Quaker, still others have no problems.
I choose Lumberg, which is manufactured at a dedicated facility.

Hey! I read something about Neem on this site, and how it really helps with bloating. Just curious - has anyone tried it, and has anyone had good luck with it? I am always looking for new things to try to help with the Constant Bloating. I have been using it in place of digestive enzymes for a couple of days now to see if it helps. I don't know if it's good to take too many things at one time. I also tried probiotics, but they seemed to make me even more bloated. I guess I don't understand what to take and when. Any advice would help. Thanks!!

This is the complete panel to order:
Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG
Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA
Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA
Total IgA level.
There are 3 current methods to diagnose Celiac:
1. Blood Panel
2. Endoscopy Exam and Biopsy (small intestine)
3. Postive Dietary Response
Celiac disease can be view through an endoscopy exam. The doctor can look for scalloping of the walls and blunting of the villi. Several biopsies should be taken.
You can find information about DH here: https://www.celiac.com/categories/Dermatiti...Celiac-Disease/
Hope this helps

Lisa! Thank goodness you clarified that for me!.............Your sentence stated something about dragging "debre" out to the street, and I thought perhaps you had a drunken relative staying with you, a Debra.....perhaps your MIL or sumfin'....and that you'd had about enough of her......

Welcome Christina! You could not have found a better place to hang out. If we can help you in any way, just ask.

Guessing...some people react to Quaker Rice Cakes, others don't. I eat Lumberg Rice Cakes. Have others double-dipped into the PB? Did you wash well after making the sandwich?
Have you checked your old, scratched pots and pans, toaster, colander, shampoo, lip balms/sticks, lotions, meds, vitamins? Gluten is a tricky little sucker and can hide everywhere.
I would keep a food journal and document your reactions to different foods or products. If you have a question, just ask.

I have had an ongoing list of Celiac symptoms for the last 14 years, and 6 years ago a Kinesiologist performed a muscle strength test... he declared me allergic to wheat, and told me to only eat what "my ancestors" would eat... nuts, fruit, veggies, meat... That seemed like just too much for me to handle at that point (I was 18)... However things have gotten progressively worse, and I felt like I was going around living with all these issues, that there was no concrete reason for.
My doctor tested me, via the blood tests for Celiac, even after I had told him I had been gluten free for 6 weeks. My results came back negative... He said the antibodies would still be present, and that if I had it it would be positive. Why would our bodies keep making an antibody it didn't actively need?
I feel like, although my husband is super duper supportive and has thrown himself into being as gluten free with me as possible, that maybe I am "forcing" him to do all this, for no reason. Is there any chance of this being a false negative, or am I just being too hopeful?
Help please!!!
The blood tests for Celiac are not as reliable as we would like. There is some talk these days that the ranges that we consider positive is too narrow.
Many here are self diagnosed and feel quite comfortable with that conclusion. A dietary response is also an accepted diagnosis. You can test yourself by being as close to 100% gluten free as possible for a couple months and then do a gluten challenge for a couple of weeks. You may find your answer.
My husband does not feel deprived since I cook gluten free. He has his bread, cereal and pasta and I have mine. We eat well.

Sorry about your trip Laura, but it is rather crappy around here. You made a good choice. You'll just have to make the next trip EXTRA special.
I have a yard full of debre to drag to the street. Annie took some pictures of home and the beach and I try to post them when she gets back from the beach with her camera... (translation, I will have her post the pictures and I'll watch her do it.). It's really interesting how impressive "just" a tropical storm can be.
BRING BACK THE EDIT BUTTON ....debris

Hanna's eye just passed here. It's blowing like a son-of-a-gun with Soundside flooding.
I'm not looking forward to the yard clean-up in 98% humidity.

Cool! I remember when he was a wee pup. I knew him BEFORE he was famous.

Drinkable wine would not be found at a drug store. I suggest a wine store or your local grocery store.
All wines are gluten free and as sickchick mentioned, organic wines should not have sulfites. Sulfites are not gluten related, though.
For a cool summer drink, you might want to try some 7-up, a healthy splash or red wine and a couple orange slices.

What a big girl she is Angie. And pretty like her mother.

I thought I read that modified corn starch was ok but what about modified food starch?
Modified Food Starch is generally derived from corn unless other wise stated as in "Modified Food Starch (wheat)" in the US. Barley, malt or rye are not players here.

Yes, a classic example of a seriously ill informed doctor...grrrrrr.
Welcome to the club! Wrap your arms around a totally gluten free diet and feel better.

gfp - remember that "Ignore" setting? I suggest you use it, rather than be rude to other members. There are many acceptable methods to disagree, being insulting is not.

My neighbor said he saw Hershey bars at the checkout at the bigY grocery stores, that specifically say GLUTEN FREE on the label.
I have got to see this with my own eyes!

We have many denominations represented on this forum. Many of those denominations offer communion.

You will have to read the label. But you should know that any Hershey products that list "natural flavor", the company will not disclose the source. So there is no way to determine whether products that list "natural flavors" are gluten free or not.
I personally don't support companies who support their suppliers, rather than the people who buy their products.

The R.O.C.K. groups should publish their candy list soon. I ALWAYS look forward to that. (but no hershey products for me
