Criosa:
Welcome to our world. First let me say that you doctor is not well informed.
It is obvious that you react to wheat and corn. This is common among celiacs. Sometimes our bodies tell us more than the doctors can.
If you want to pursue testing, you must maintain a GLUTEN diet. If you go gluten free, you will not have an accurate test and a possible false negative. Others will post with the exact blood test you need to have. There is also a gene test that can be done.
Do not request your doctor to do this test, require him to do this test. Who pays his bills, YOU do. If he refuses, find another.
If you mother has celiac and you are experiencing symptoms, it is highly likely.
You may very well have celiac and doing silent damage with a tummy ache.
I will ask others to post the exact test you need to request, no require.
There is a world full of information here on this site. I would encourage you to read as much as possible. You may find it interesting.
Welcome again.

www.shopbydiet.com... I think they have Bi-aglut and Tinkyada, they have some Schar products too, but I'm not sure if they have Schar noodles. I believe tinkyada is on sale right now.
Thanks Angie

Hi Debbie! Are you kidding? This post of your will certainly make Lynne's day! She has had such a rough time of late and posts like this boost the spirits. And you are right, Lynne is very cherished here, she is definitely one of a kind!
Hugs.
Karen
Lynne is one of the best story tellers that I have ever know. And 1/50th of her humor, I would die for (well, that's taking it a little too far). I'll forgo mine and enjoy hers.

You all convinced me, although, never a pasta fan.
Can you post an ordering web site?

Many times a doctor will view a positive dietary response and consider that a diagnosis.
Taxes claims are not all that easy. You can claim the DIFFERENCE in cost between regular bread and gluten free bread, as well as other products that are gluten free. And accounting can be very difficult, but possible.
Others have said, that might send a red flags for an audit. It is legal to do so.

THANK YOU!!!
Do you think you could let them bake as the balls THEN put a hershey's kiss in them and make the PB Blossoms? Those are my absolute favorite cookie in the world. Or is Hershey's not gluten free??? EEEEK!!!
Kisses are ALWAYS good.

Last night I made a chicken stir-fry with vegetables. I really wanted to dump some peanut or soy sauce in there, but everything had wheat.....
I was full, but still I crave something. I crave all the fatty pre-fabricated foods that are um, so good for us...
On the plus sign, I've lost a couple pounds...
Jerry,
I hope that this will ease your mind. Many peanut butters are gluten free and La Choy Soy Sauce is also gluten free. There is "wheat-free" tamari available.
If you react to peanuts or soy, I take my answer back,

This sounds like a good Sunday project for me. Yummy!

Good luck and I hope you get the news that you have been looking for.

Just remember that it took your body some time to be damaged by gluten and it will take some time to heal. Some people here have felt feel better very soon after going gluten free. It took me about six month.
On occasion, when I get glutened the brain fog and the shakes begin first. I feel very flumbly. About 24 hours later, the acid D begins. It take about three day to fully recover from an accidental gluten.
But, every one reacts differently.

Lisa,

Lynne and Dave have been sick with the flu and Lynne had a bad case of pneunonia and is recovering and feeling better. They are looking for a good sunny day to arrange the video.
Lynne, you can chime in here.........
Laura has done a great deal of work getting the letters in perfect submission. Thanks you so much Laura for you hard work and a lot of you private time.
Armetta has the package ready to go when the video is complete.
We are wishful, for Lynne. It would be soooo cool.
Armetta or I will let you know when the package has been submitted and you guy will be the first (well, second) to know!

B:
Once gluten free for a while, my night sweats went away. But remember, that I posted that I began peri-med. at about 35 and it lasted about 10 years. Well over that.
I perspire, while I am eating and not from spice. It is soo odd. Frey's Syndrome.
Maybe we dig too much on the internet. If we believed everything we read, we'd all be dead by now. And doctors hate us.

Hold on babe, the calvary will come. There are several college age peeps and I am sure that the will post shortly.
-
Thanks for posting. Good article.
-
bump? any information out there?
-
I did some research on this after I posted this thread. Frey's Syndrome appears to be what I was describing. I have forgotten alot now, but it has to do with the glands re-routing themselves to the face. Perhaps when I was pre-diagnosed and had a highly dry mouth, things got re-wired.
I do have questions about thyroid, but my bloodwork did not indicate an issue. It's always something.
Time for another doctor!

I have been researching because of continuing symptoms.
Addison's Disease is adrenal failure, yet the symptoms are very much like Celiac. Both are autoinmunes.
Do anyone have a history or information on Addison's.
Thanks

Well, as some of you know I haven't been doing so hot for the last ten days. Right after I finished school, I became extremely exhausted. I woke up on Friday December 21st and was so tired I tripped over the furball in my avatar and crashed into my VERY hard bureau. We thought it was a reaction to some trigger point injections I'd had. I was sort of up and down all week, sleeping like 12 hours at night and still needing naps. Just zonked. Couldn't even make it to Christmas Dinner.
Got worse NYE, sore throat, swollen glands. Slept all day New Year's so finally called doc today and got in. She said it's mono but they can't test you for it because I've already had it (in 6th grade!!!!!!!!!!!) so the antibodies stay in your system and you would test positive.
So, I'm supposed to rest (I'm the worst patient in the world! But I ampretty tired). Another vacation bites the dust!
Sorry- just having a wee pity party!
I thought once you got mono, you could not get it again? Sorry Bev that you feel so crappy, but yet you ask about others.
I do hope you get your mojo back soon.
xxoo Lisa
Rest well, a good thing that school is out. OOOH, I guess school is back in session.
Question About Lexipro (sp?)
in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Posted
You are a good friend to care so much.
I strongly recomment that she NOT stop taking Lexipro cold turkey. I weaned myself off of Lexipro in a week and it certainly was not long enough.
She will get strange withdrawl effects like the feeling of little electrical shocks all over her body. And she will feel very strange.
Advise her to start taking one every other day for a week (or cut her daily dose in half), then every third day for a week and so forth.
Until she is completely off Lexipro, she should use other means of birth control. Her partner should be responsible as well.
I don't know if I have answered all you questions, but it's a start.
