  1. Alcohol was formerly associated with gluten. But, now it is said that the distillation process removes the offending gluten. All distilled alcohol is considered gluten free. (Although, a few here will react to grain based alcohol). Many alcohols are not grain based. Vanilla flavoring should be safe. McCormick's is a company who will clearly list all...
  2. Think we got it covered. Thanks. Sometimes, due to extended illnesses, some days are difficult. We get frustrated. Those are the days when you extend a hand, not judge or scold.
  3. I think that I had a follow up appointment about two weeks later.
  4. DebNC, Gemini is usually very accurate in her postings and has been around a long time. She knows her stuff. As with most posts here, you can take it in, and then draw your own conclusions. With that said, there is a lot of research that needs to be developed with regard to Celiac and DH, hopefully, not too far in the future. Hope you feel better...
  5. Sorry Bev. Insult upon injury sucks
  6. You sound like you're on the right track. It does take time for your body to play catch up. But, not being a doctor, maybe you can request a metabolic panel from your doctor to check for any deficiencies.

    ARCHIVED I'm Confused

Sure! Have you check you scratched pots and pans, shared toaster, cutting board, soaps, shampoos, lotions, meds, vitamins, lipsticks... ANTYHING that can get in or near your mouth should be examined. Handing gluten foods for others can make you sick if you are not careful. What kind of meds are you taking?
  8. SAHM, I know there is a Carrabba's in Wilmington. I have had many great experiences there. And save room for a wonderful desert. Most nice restaurants could broil some seafood for you as request.

    ARCHIVED I'm Confused

First off, there are no dumb answers here! With Celiac there is a inhereted disposition, with no guarantee that an offspring would have Celiac. Many people, including mine, passed the "tummy issues" down the genetic line. Only testing would tell you if it's Celiac Disease or gluten intolerance, or resolved by positive dietary response. Using a mico...
  10. Hum...what a novel thought
  11. Put some in your suitcase
  12. Sometimes, you just never find out what is was that made you ill. But, when it happens to me, I go back to the basics for a while until I feel better. And, then I revisit everything again. It may very well be that you are still healing and perhaps what you ate was not gluten related, but may have been irritating to a compromised system. Maybe...
  13. A US company would be in serious violation of labeling import laws and subject to severe fines. Any product imported into the US is subject of the FDA laws. Although, I would think it unwise to purchase a product labeled in a foreign language at a foreign market. Illegal product imports can happen. Common sense would be a good rule to follow. ...
  14. In the lower part of the home page here is a calender listing for ongoing events around the country (world). You can also contact your nearest organized support group and coordinate with them. If you let us know what area of the country you are we can hook you up with support organizations.
  15. OMG...That sent shivers all the way down my spine and I'm not sure that I don't need to throw up! Thanks for that larry!
  16. Open Original Shared Link However, we were surprised to discover no correlation between extent of intestine damage and patient symptoms," says Dr. Murray. I thought this was worth sharing.
  17. Open Original Shared Link The capsule endoscopy is the most advance test available at this time. I hope you get an answer soon.
  18. Kat, We all share pieces of ourselves with the hopes that we can help someone. That's what this board is about. There is a lot of support given here. It's here to take or here to give.
  19. The distillation process is said to remove the offending gluten to a safe level for Celiac to consume. There rarely is an assurance that anything is 100% gluten free. Some sensitive people may react to distilled grain based alcohol and vinegars.
  20. Peggy Anne, Would you mind supporting the information you posted about red wine, teas and coffee, with a link or an article.
  21. Open Original Shared Link Aaron Harding is near your area. Give him a call

  25. They also have an unusual political statement on their label. Unusual, in the sense that you don't see this often. They are an Austrialian Company. The Almond & Coconut lists: Coconut Chips, Glucose, Puffed Rice, Chicory Fiber, Soy Lectithin.
