ARCHIVED Sudden Onset Of Pale Stools And Diarrhea
Lisa replied to AliB's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Welcome AliB, Yes, sudden change in bowls are a symptom of Celiac, along with 200 others. Celiac often needs a "trigger" to engage many of the symptoms. (but not always). I was diagnosed with IBS for most of my life, but stress kicked in the Celiac. It's as if, it happened in one day. I went to the bath room and came out two months later, when... -

You are not too far gone unless you're six feet under! Welcome, I don't know what CFIDS is, could you fill me in? The gluten free diet take a while to master as it can be quite complex. It also will take some time to heal, providing that gluten is your issue. Can you expand on your symptoms and your current meds? -

Lisa replied to Alexolua's topic in Publications & Publicity

I don't have the "bed-bug" feeling, but often I can't keep my legs still and had difficulty sleeping. I shook my leg all night. My doctor suggested that I take a benadryl at night. It has helped me sleep and no more fluttering feet to keep my buddy awake.

Melissa, You aren't the first student to run back to the dorms after eating in the dining hall and you most likely won't be the last. I swear, there IS something in that food. But, on a more serious note...you may be reacting to MSG which is often in prepared foods. I would think, some of the foods a cafeteria would serve. Many people here are...

ARCHIVED gluten-free Diet Before Biopsy
Lisa replied to my3kids's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You already have a diagnosis for Celiac through your daughter blood work. The biopsy may or may not confirm celiac, but it can determine the level of damage done to the intestines. She does have Celiac and she should be on the diet. You are doing okay, so don't doubt yourself. Children are resilient and they heal quicker than adults. Gluten must be... -

ARCHIVED Should I Get More Tests Or Just Go gluten-free?
Lisa replied to CCM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Blood test can be inaccurate whether someone is on gluten or off. They are not conclusive. I would say to go totally free of gluten. No cheating. Concentrate on the gluten and dairy for some time and see how you feel. Several months down the road, add the dairy back and test the waters. I have no experience with Enterolabs, so I don't recommend... -

Lisa replied to walshclan's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Connie, If you would like to be tested for Celiac, you should continue to eat gluten. Cheating since September will certainly help in this situation. Lisa replied to Ridgewalker's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Sarah I love KIND bars. They have dates, nuts, and fruit. I would not consider them a meal replacement bar, rather for a cookie fix. I have found them at the Fresh Market, Farm Fresh and some upgraded Food Lions. -
