  1. There are some here that cannot handle distilled alcohol at all. You may be sensitive to it as well.
  2. https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-06107387252.38 This may be helpful.
  3. Unfortunately, the selection is slim. Bard's, New Grist and Redbridge are the current beers available. A year ago there were none, so we are pleased to have those. Perhaps next year will render some more surprises.
  4. I did call, but it was some time ago. I can't find my old post. But, I want to call again and see what they say. Just called and talked to "Allan"...they do not add gluten, but they do not test for it either. They are in the process of testing and should have a definitive answer in a few weeks. (my scepticism overwhelms me ). Let's remember to...
  5. I posted this some time ago. The New Centrum Formula is wheat free and no gluten is added, but they do not test for gluten. With that said, I take it daily.
  6. Some of the mini's are thought NOT to be gluten free, but the larger versions ARE considered gluten free. I have no factual basis for this, but it comes up every year about this time.
  7. You should have no problem, gluten related.
  8. Burt's Bees' has some nice lip shimmers and gloss that are gluten free (all of them).
  9. Alex, Although little consolation, but grits may be a good alternative. I cook stone ground grits with Swanson's Chicken Broth (instead of water) and add at the end whatever cheese I fancy at the time. Any type of herbs could be added (for a northern version ) It's great for breakfast for dinner with sausage/bacon and eggs.

    ARCHIVED Hair Loss

When I was first diagnoses, I had clumps falling out. My blood work indicated that I was low in Folic Acid and B-12. I bumped those up and the hair loss slowed and I had alot of new growth. I have since slacked off those supplements and the hair loss seems more noticeable. So, back to the Folic and B-12. From every one's post, there seems to be a...

    ARCHIVED My Diagnosis

Deb, I am not sure whether this has been brought up or not (perhaps yes?). Since your husbands diagnosis, I assume that you have been cooking gluten free for the most part. Could it be that you have developed an intolerance to gluten yourself through eliminating it from your diet? Just a thought and I do hope that you get some answers soon.
  13. You sound very devoted. She is lucky to have you. If your mother is convinced that she has Celiac the most simple route for you to take is a blood test. It is simple and it may resolve your doubt. A test gluten free diet is invalid if it is not totally dedicated. It is not the amount of gluten that is consumed, but rather the slightest amount of...
  14. Witness!!!!!....Yup, Vincent. He sported a mullet and proud of it too. New job was it's demise. Steve too, I believe. Your off the hook Richard
  15. Hope you have a very special Birthday!
  16. I am so sorry that you have had so many mountains to climb during his short life. May symptoms that you mentioned, can be associated with Celiac, bloated belly, small limbs, etc. You can demand that you doctor do a full Celiac blood test, although they are not always reliable, especially in small children. You can try the diet for a month and see if...
  17. Pinned.
  18. Welcome, One week on the diet is a very short time to be free of issues. Many take several weeks and other take several months and even up to two years depending on the amount of damage you may have and how diligent you are on the diet. Make sure that you have checked your colander, scratched pots and pans, toaster and wooded spoons. As well, check...
  19. Ali, OS-CAL is gluten free. - I called www.oscal.com Try a search here for Citracal.
  20. It would depend on what the product is. A wine cooler, no I would not drink it. Dole Tropical Mixed Fruit, I would. Both could contain "natural flavors" (as Dole does), but one is more likely not to have malt or rye than the other. It's an educated choice for me, but I am not as reactive as others.
  21. Do you have a local support group? Perhaps that may be a more local avenue for a roomate. Good luck in your search.
  22. Sprue and Celiac Disease are one in the same.
  23. Three is such a wonderful age. Enjoy every minute with him. (He'll be a teenager soon..."shivers" )
  24. The BRAT diet can help calm the digestive system...banana, rice, apple sauce and tea.
  25. Ann, Did it make you mad enough to start that "Cult" Clinic. I will be first in line.
