  1. Thanks for all you impute. I find it pretty scary when I'm driving down the road and can't remember where I'm going, then remember it was to the grocery store. I feel that my IQ has dropped 50 points. Does this get better, or is it permanent?
  2. Karen, will this get better or am I destined for an MRI ? I can deal with the diet, but sadly, I have this inner feeling that I am not the same person that I was a year ago. I know that you can't predict that or have an answer, but it's kind of freaken to me. If any one else has this issue, please post. Turtle, I will e-mail you tomorrow. Hope...
  3. Brain damage frightens me. I write this very reluctantly. I am beginning to not pronounce words that I have been familar to for all my life. I don't know what to write . I stumble over words when I talk to my husband, I don't complete sentences when I talk to my daughter, I blend words. Ok, what can be the brain effect of digestive malnur. for a period...

    ARCHIVED No Diarrhea

Probly soo. (as my daughter would say). The big D is to me the main issue and with that includes the malabsorbtion (sp) issue the includes weight loss, brain fog, I get the hand shakes, and a little speech impared. (also typing impared, as is obvious). Excuse the discription, but when I have a poop that lookes like a real poop, that is a good day. This...
  5. PLease be careful. This brings up a past nightmare for me. I have been to counciling sessions with my daughter (one of two). Adderal can be very dangerous and can alter the person that you truely are. If you have more energy and are feeling good, slowly decrease the adderal. Go very slowly as there will be side effect. And, Please consult your doctor...
  6. I am sorry that you are having so much trouble. How old are you, are you living at home with your family.? Dealing with Celiac is not always easy, but it will get better in time. Keep reading some of these posts and I am sure that it will be helpful to you. There are alot of people here that are going through what you are, or have been. Sometimes...
  7. Made this up today, too good not to pass on: Cut Butternut Squash in half, scoop out seeds. Micro until soft, and scrape out into a pot. Add one can of Swansons Chic. Broth, blend with a mixer until smooth, or whisk. Add 1/2 chunk of your choice of cheese ( I used butterkase) and stir to melt. Add salt, pepper, fresh chives to taste, nutmeg...
  8. That is really cool. I sure wished that I had that in August. I know that it will be a great help to all the newly diog. Kinda pay it forward. Very cool. Thank you for your time to do this. Lisa
  9. I'm so tired of french fried by now, that I wouldn't eat them now even if they were gluten free. Do I have a witness????

    ARCHIVED Veterans

James: Let us know a little about yourself, your diognisis or your symtoms. This will help us help you. If you truely have Celiac Disease, you will have to be gluten free for the rest of your life. A little bit is a no-no. It is all or nothing. We are glad that you joined the message board and all of us are here to answer any of your question...
  11. I don't understand your stance. You KNOW the risk of eating out. You continue to do this. You are totally responsible for your diet, NOT the rest of the world. You have to take your dietary restrictions into your own hands and not blame others for their lack of knowledge. When I go to a restaurant and order off the menu, I assume all responsibilty of my...
  12. If the GI Dr. did an endo and he/she saw damage to the villi he/she should have taken 6-8 samples to be tested. My guess that he/she only took a few. If he/she saw damage, then most likely you have Celica.
  13. Try some Herb-ox dry chicken boulion water/cream to consistency - all gluten free
  14. Wish I could help, but others will come soon. Lisa
  15. My e-mail is listed on the members list. L
  16. I too had a frustrating experience Friday night when invited to a neighbors for dinner. She said that she was having chilli and asked if I could eat it. I asked her to save the ingredience for me to read, and she said that she would be more than glad to. I offered to bring a ceasar salad. (looking out for myself). When, we got there and I was...

Don't know much about sushi, but I do know to stay away from immitation crabmeat. Good luck.
  20. I would suggest that you go to the dr.office and get a full blood work up. I was deficient in lots of things, including B-12 and folic acid. It does not cost alot and it is a base line test to show improvement in the future.
  21. Breakfast: eggs, Jimmy Dean Sausage/Oscar Meyer Bacon. OR leftovers from dinner or Amys Indian (Yum) Lunch: Leftovers, Rice Cake w/PB&J, cottage cheese with pineapple, Peanuts & V-8, trail mix with raisans, peanuts & MM's Dinner: Baked Chicken w/salt& pepper, roasted carrotts and potatoes, Gravey with cornstarch. ...
  22. As mentions on a privious thread, special dietary foods can be tax deduced. You much keep very accurate records of this, as it may send up a red-flag to the IRS. Travel to specialty stores, and the difference in gluten bread and non-gluten bread, etc. I don't, don't want to invite the IRS into my life any more than it already does.
  23. Karen: I think it was to Nacho Cheese, but not sure. So, please read the lables everyone.
  24. Wow,quite an answer Went to the store yesterday and read the lable for Dorrito's - with new labeling it says it contains wheat. Just thought I would pass that on for all the new ones here on the forum
