ARCHIVED Following Diet, Still Having Stomach Pain
Lisa replied to ebrbetty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Do you both have the Delfi Produce list of gluten free products, if not someone could sent it to you. I can't but others can. For breakfast I eat left-overs or Amy's gluten free frozen meals (I don't like breakfast good) For lunch, I eat fruit, a handful of peanuts or almonds, and a large V-8. or left overs Dinner options are endless. Tonight... -
ARCHIVED Following Diet, Still Having Stomach Pain
Lisa replied to ebrbetty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Kirsten: Just wanted to let you know that I used to have terrible lower back pain and it felt warm to the touch as if it was inflamed. My back went out twice and spent a week not able to move without great pain. I couldn't bend over to put the dishes in the dishwasher. BUT.....six months or so, my back only bothers me when I feel that I have been... -
ARCHIVED Any Advice Where To Begin?
Lisa replied to pattic's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I think that you are on the right track. If you feel better being gluten free, just continue. Some people want a name to call things. I had never heard of celiac disease until I was dx'd. It was quite a surprize, but a welcome one since I thought I may have cancer. Testing can be expensive. If you feel comfortable without being tested and you continue... -
ARCHIVED Following Diet, Still Having Stomach Pain
Lisa replied to ebrbetty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Betty: I have been gluten free for about 5 months now. (as best that I can). It has taken me this long to heal enough to figure out what it feels to be "glutened". It will take some time to feel better. You probably have several months ahead of you. This is the time to be very diligent about what you eat and lotions, soap, lipsticks, and shampoos... -
First of all I would SLOWLY get the belladonna (donnatal) out of your system. It can be very addictive. I was also perscribed belladonna for stomach problems, before dx'd. It also could be affecting your appetite, and it is most likely affecting your state of mind adding to your depression. Second, you must east. The only way to get out of this rut...

If you want to have dinner in one of the Taverns, they will accomodate you well when you present a gruten free card. They will come back to the table and let you know what is safe. I am finding that most restaurants in larger cities are getting more familiar with the gluten free diet. We always have a wonderful time walking the street of colonial...

Tiffany: I often get a "white tongue" and it comes when I feel that I have been glutened and associated with brain fog. I have dry mouth and my speech is not where it should be (ie. not fulfilling sentences, as normal). There seems to be some sort of brain mis-connection. I have heard about probiotics....if you take antibiotics.....this I...

Lisa replied to tammy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Tammy, I think that my answer to you was inappropriate. I am sorry. You asked a serious question, and I in my 50's should have listened to a response. It would be helpful to me as well. This is another avenue of my life that I that I need to explore. Sometimes it's hard to multi-task issues. I do hope that you found some solutions to your questions.... -

Lisa posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have posted this before, but never got a defined answer. Has anyone researched this in the past and has gotten a reply? If not, I will try to do so. This will be very helpful for those of us who live in a small town and have to rely on our local CVS for beauty products. Thanks , Lisa B. -

ARCHIVED gluten-free Personal Lubricants?
Lisa replied to tammy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Tammy: I don't believe, in my memory that this has ever been asked. But, I guess that it stands to reason that it should. I may be wrong, but I feel that it should not be a problem unless you (how do I say this?? ) put any it in your mouth. I am WAY over this issue, but I would be concerned, as the latex should be powdered free and I would not... -

ARCHIVED New To All This
Lisa replied to MACE's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, it does. I would like to suggest that you download the Delfi Product List and stick to those products that others have already researched already. That will be a monumental help for those just beginning. It was for me. When I get accidently glutened, I always go back to the list that I know was safe and stay there for a while. It would be a good... -
I would suggest a full blood work panel to see what difficencies that you may have. Perhaps a vitamine inbalance. Those of us with celiac, it is always good to do that several times a year to make sure that we are getting what we need to have our body function as well as it can. Lisa B.

ARCHIVED Question For Any Really Underweight Celiac's?
Lisa replied to ronapa's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I work with wonderfully nice very overweight people whom I love. But sometimes I complain that I am so thin that I won't wear short, ever. I am trying to gain, but , just don't. I am 5'8" and 123lbs. My torso is average, but my bottom, arms and legs are very thin. It's the pits to try to find clothes. I used to be a size 14 in pants because of my... -
Nancy, I also cannot pinpoint your problems with out getting specific about the brands that you are using. I have been "attempting" to be totally gluten free since August. It is terrible painstaking job. I know your frustrations. Believe me, I have thrown out a couple of good jeans in disgust. When I get glutened, I go back to the basics...

ARCHIVED Nervous About Endoscopy
Lisa replied to floridanative's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was out completely and do not remember a thing that the doctor told my husband and myself. So... make sure that you bring someone who can tell you what the doctor said. You will not remember. Good luck, it's a breeze. -
B: You look so different from your wedding picture. Pretty as well. Sorry, you know me, I can't help with the baby issue. Don't let this stop you. My girls have brought me tears and joy and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Lisa B.
