ARCHIVED Really Quick Question....what Is The Strongest
Lisa replied to danikali's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have a large hiatal hernia and was prescribed generic prilosec Omeprazole. I take one in the morning and one at night. For the most part it seems to work. Sometimes during the day I may take a Zantac 75 about 4:00 in the afternoon when I start feeling bloated. I don't thing it has anything to do with celiac, just the hernia issue. Aleve is the... -
ARCHIVED Worried About Going Out Of Town!
Lisa replied to Lollie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just in case, I would take immodium with you. It servers me pretty well for a day. Choose well off the menu and always ask how the food it prepared and talk to the manager. Explain your diet and with hopes you can enjoy yourself. When I go out of town, before lunch, I take an immodium for a safe guard. It doesn't mean that I won't get glutened, but... -

ARCHIVED This May Be A Stupid Question
Lisa replied to ebrbetty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I do agree with richard, which I usually do, everyone is different. I only had the sharp, knife pains before diog., after going gluten free (or as best as I was able.), I had the D issue. It was months before I would go out of town. Living in a very small town, sometimes I could not make it to the Post Office. Worse yet, standing on my back porch, the... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Have Problem With Salmon, Other Fatty Fish?
Lisa replied to luceydiana's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am now gravitating toward fish. I find that heavy beef, steak, stews...don't seem to taste as good to me and maybe a little hard to digest. And addition to this...My husband got a "Green-Egg" grill/smoker for Christmas. I do think that I am all smoked out. He's going crazy with smok'in everything. It was great in the beginning, but now.......bla... -

PS: There are no stupid questions here. -
Vincent: Maybe the young ones are more inclined, with their little tummies. I , to my knowledge, have not been gluten by the fries. But on the other hand I am still trying to work out healing and glutened. So I have not comments about the fries. I'm not there yet. I thank richard on his submission. He has always been a very consistant and accurate...

ARCHIVED This May Be A Stupid Question

If lactose causes you problems, don't go there. If you have damage to your villi, it will take quite some time to heal. It has taken me almost 6 months to start the healing process and to know when I am glutened or just healing. I am just now beginning to know the difference. Hope this will be helpful. Be patient I am not lactose intollerent and... -
I'll try to send you something. Thought I would start with the onset of Celiac and my distress with the personal humiliation of that, and regress how it came to kick in. How's that? Lisa B

In addition to Celiac I also have a large Hiatal Hernia , with that I take Omeprazole 20 mg. - generic for prilosic, once in the morning and also in the evening. That is veyr helpful and puts off surgery for as long as I can be comfortable. Hope this helps

When I start feeling bloated, I take a Zantac-75 and after a while I feel better. Watch your co-workers, when you need to poot, be discrete. A good poot is a wonderful feeling.

Are we still talking about dumb people, good, I hope so........ Went out of town today and we ate lunch at Don Pablo's. I asked them if they have a gluten free menu, as I have heard that they do. The manager said, "Oh yes, but that's on the internet, we don't have that here at the restaurant". Jim and I just stared at her in disbelief.........She said... -

This is a new format and a thread that I started and the TOPIC was very inacurate due to brain fog and vast misspelling. I have with this post created a new forum/thread. ARCHIVED Msg Question.....safe Or Not?
Lisa replied to Maureen73's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
To my understanding MSG is gluten free, but no the best to consume. -
To your last question OH YEAH. Took me over two months to feel better, but the acid poops stopped within a couple of weeks, but the D continues, even today after 6 months. Although it comes back when I feel that I have been glutened. I took B-12 shots once a week for about a month and they really helped with the energy level. We are all in this...

Please send some verification, I HAVE to have that. I can't give up the only sweets that I eat. I am truely afraid that our diets will be shortened with the new labeling issues. M&M's may be the next fall-out. What's next........Necco's. (God-forbid). Pitts -

Glad you did, if I read to post, I would have said "what the heck does that mean". BLA Recently, when I was conducting a public meeting to open the meeting, I hit the gavel, and said "Let's adjourn the meeting for whatever date it was" instead of "calling to order...." I don't know why everyone didn't get up and leave. My fellow board member made a... -
