  1. Alcoholic dependency can be a serious factor. And it can be misdiagnosed as consistent with Celiac Disease. Both can destroy the villi. Both can develop full malnutrition. It's easy to confuse both. The advanced level of both would be similar. Advanced testing would be recommended.
  2. There is a minimum post that new members need to achieve. It helps weed out spam and peeps with issues. I good thing, I think. If I can help you in any way, please ask.
  3. Open Original Shared Link Are Chicken of the Sea products gluten free? All Chicken of the Sea products are gluten free, with the exception of the tuna salad kit, which contains crackers that are not gluten free. Found this on line ^

  7. I just want to add that many of us have a wide spectrum of sensitivity. Some people can be ill from a product that contains no gluten ingredients (due to cross contact), whereas some have eaten the same product for years without issues. Many times its trial and error and individualized. It doesn't necessarily mean that a particular product is not...
  8. The term "gluten free" is not yet a legal standard in the US. All labeling gluten free labeling is voluntary. Most companies do not test, to claim a "gluten free" status, or at least under the 20ppm suggested as a standard. What I have seen and most likely will see more of in the future is companies claiming "no gluten ingredients". That will relieve...
  9. Open Original Shared Link # Are any of your products gluten free? Our potato items are "gluten free" with the exception of Alexia Potato Bites.
  10. Should this be fact, "those" manufacturers are in serious violation of the law! ALL wheat must be listed an ingredient or on an allergen statement, by law. I would like to see some documentation of this. Are there manufacturers that we can contact? Either this is "hear-say" with out actual fact, or these "manufactures" need to meet with the FDA!
  11. I also would recommend that he seek a medical doctor's advise. There are now some aides, which could make the transition easier.
  12. After a diagnosis....many, if most all foods (gluten free or not) can be an issue. With digestive issues, I can only assume that tobacco might be an irritant.

Order a salad and bring your own dressing.
  14. Welcome Leslie: I would have a special shelf in your pantry for your 4 year old. Snacks, Cereal and treat that are specific to your 4 year old. I have a shelf in our toaster oven that is only mine, where I toast my bread and waffles. But a $10.00 toaster is easily purchased. Cleaning cook ware well should not be a concern, as long as they are...

Hey Bear and Welcome!!! You have found a great place for great information. I would begin your diet with fresh fruits, fresh veggies, meats, eggs, fish, rice and potato. Milk is gluten free, but you might want to wait a couple of weeks before you try it again. And I would not try the Rice Milk or Rice Dream. Eat simply for a few weeks...
  16. Welcome Ashley! Here is a link that might answer your questions: Open Original Shared Link *And please pass this information on to your Doctor. Before an endoscopy exam, she should run the FULL Celiac Panel, and learn how to interpret the results. And you should continue to eat a full gluten diet, if you are able. EDIT: https...
  17. Hi Jonny and Welcome! You have a strong family history and positive blood work. That's more than adequate for a diagnosis....in addition to positive dietary results. I personally feel it's wise, for those of us with intestinal issues for many years to have, at the least a baseline endoscopy exam. It also can rule out more severe issues. But, it...
  18. Believe it or not, digestive issues are not the most common symptoms of Celiac. Before you get too far into the gluten free diet, I would encourage you to get a full Celiac Blood Panel. If you choose not to be tested, you can begin the diet. But only full compliance will determine if you have Celiac or a gluten intolerance, by a slow recovery of your...

  22. Agreed. You might want to consider paper napkins or paper towels. Washed cloth napkins should not be an issue.
  23. I was a art major in college. But I liked any kind of art better than I liked to write term papers...so I borrowed one....OOOPS!!! One offspring got the talent gene. She is mostly self taught and proficient in oils, pastels and photography. She prefers her own company, rather than that of others. Other offspring got the social gene. She was talented...
  24. Hi and Welcome! During your doctors appointment, I would recommend that you request a FULL Celiac Panel. You may have Celiac as well as a gluten allergy.
  25. It might be a good thing to contact the company directly and talk to some one with knowledge of their labeling and product information. I believe there was a labeling issue/error, years ago....that was corrected. And, my memory is not certain it was Ore Ida.
