  1. welcome I would request a copy of your blood test to make sure a complete celiac panel was run. You can post the results here when you get them for others to comment. A complete celiac blood panel is the following: Comprehensive Celiac Panel: DGP iga/igg ttg iga/igg EMA Total iga serum-this is a control test to make sure you make enough iga...
  2. ok so living on the East Coast means heat and the dreaded humidity during the summer. With dew points in the 70-80 range, it's always sticky. Maybe this sounds crazy, but I am able to tolerate the humidity so much better this summer even though I'm a little heavier since last summer. maybe it's a stetch trying to relate this to gluten, but do you think...
  3. thanks for the info! I am going to try the D2 since it's what he prescribed, and am hopeful it will make a change, but if not, I'll discuss with him about going back to D3 in a much higher dose. I have been going outside more, but it's a toss up...go outside without sunblock to get Vit. D for 20 min. and develop skin cancer or have low Vit. D and be susecptible...
  4. i'm visiting my family right now, and last night we went to Target. I bought a bag of the Mega Cheese Puffs for them to try. I will try them in the future but am sticking to a whole foods diet for right now. They equated them to tasting like Cheetos and really enjoyed them!
  5. here's a link about ttg from the Chicago Celiac Center: Open Original Shared Link
  6. it seems like we're in the same boat the only thing that was positive for me was the DGP-IgG too, and I am not IgA deficient. My biopsy was negative, and I had 8 samples taken from the duodenum. I wish the jejunum could have been explored since my GI said the damage could have been further down since the jejunum absorbs the fat soluble vitamins, and...
  7. thanks, frieze I asked him about D2 and D3 since I've read D3 is better, but he said since I was taking 3000 ius of D3 a day he was going to prescribe D2 to see if it made a difference. can 50000iu of D ever come in the form of D3 script or is that the shot of Vit. D?
  8. so I had my GP appointment, and I was very happy with how it went! I typed up my happenings with the GI and gave my GP all my results. He was very appreciative to have everything typed up. I owned my weight gain, and brought it up so he didn't have to do that. Crushed that elephant in the room He said my thyroid numbers looked fine and took the...
  9. awesome news!!
  10. I have not had a colonoscopy done, so I can't speak to that, but I was put under for the endo, and I only had a sore throat. It really wasn't bad at all if you haven't gotten celiac blood tests done yet, you can ask your GP for the following: Comprehensive Celiac Panel: DGP iga/igg ttg iga/igg EMA Total iga serum-this is a control test to make...
  11. I only took the Wellbutrin for a few months, but when I called the doctor about going off it my Mom said are you sure you want to do that because you seem so much better My GP said it was fine, so I went off of it, and I felt ready. I really like how he informed me that I might have brain zaps introducing my body to the meds. That was an experience I...
  12. welcome, evergreen474 Since your mother has celiac, and with your miscarriages, I would highly suggest you get tested for celiac. Do NOT stop eating gluten until all testing is complete. A complete panel is: Comprehensive Celiac Panel: DGP iga/igg ttg iga/igg EMA Total iga serum-this is a control test to make sure you make enough iga to validate...
  13. I would often make the comment, "I'm here physically, but not mentally." Almost like an out-of-body experience. This may come off as strange, but it almost felt as there was a gate sitting in the top of my brain, and now going gluten free, it feels like nothing is crunching my brain. Again I know this sounds strange, but it's the best reference I've come...
  14. I'm hopeful that Citrucel will be a thing of the past soon! there are so many things I tried for the big C pre-gluten-free. I was doing everything right by doctor guidelines...more fiber and water, exercising. Though more intense exercise actually made it worse. I read a book called Fiber Menace and became familiar with the Bristol Stool Chart I couldn...
  15. It's my first time making a poll, so hopefully I did it correctly! ok so I've been thinking lately... so much of the current literature for celiac testing says that IgG tests are useful in patients who have insufficient IgA levels, but what about those of us who test positive for AGA IgG, DGP IgG and/or TTG IgG and produce sufficient levels of IgA...
  16. ok good to know! In the morning, I take my three Citrucel with water wait a little bit and then take my Culturelle then eat some breakfast. I don't know if taking the Citrucel before alters the performance of a probiotic, but Cit. helps get me going in the morning, so at this point, I don't skip it Maybe I'll start taking them at night when I get the...
  17. here's the link Shadowicewolf was referring to: Open Original Shared Link pg. 9 and 10 is where they talk about the diagnostic criteria with the 4/5 rule. it's authored by Alessio Fasano who is considered the top celiac go to doctor and Peter Green who's also top notch. Hope this helps!
  18. since your IGA is low it invalidates the other two tests. normally I would type a longer reply, but I am pasting some info I gave to another member with IgA deficiency since I'm short on time. hope it helps! *see if the lab can run the newer deamidated gliadin (DGP) test vs. the old anti-gliadin test (AGA). Check with the lab to see which test they run...
  19. Thanks, Lisa yep I tend to get ahead of myself. I did switch to a Mega Food Multi since they don't have gluten, dairy or soy. The K deficiency is noticeable to me. I cut my leg last month in three small spots from shaving, and it's still not healed the whole way. Oh well back to those supplements for now I'll try the new probiotics first and give...
  20. sold! I just ordered the probiotics. Yep it's usually veggies and fruits I see. I'm trying to get more Vitamin K to up my level, but it looks like my effort in getting those leafy greens is money flushed down the toilet I know it's normal to see some undigested food, but I just don't know how much. I had trouble with nuts and coconut which I thought...
  21. Irish-thanks for the info! I did see that disclaimer on their site I didn't really know what the different strains did until I read that book, so now I really want to take one with bifidobacteria after reading the above page. I appreciate the link to the probiotics you take, and I'm thinking I'll order those. While I'm at it , what are your recommendations...
