  1. also if you are able to get a written copy of the procedure and biopsy report you can post them here for others to look over
  2. i'm sorry you are going through this with your little one, but you're in the right place! Did you son have the blood tests prior to the endoscopy? If not, can you request the complete panel? Complete Celiac Panel: total iga-this is a control test that detects if you make enough IgA to validate the other IgA tests DGP iga/igg (really great tests...
  3. got mine in the mail today! I've avoided lipstick because of the nasty taste I would get if any got in my mouth. Now I'm not saying I'm munching on the stick and that's why it gets in my mouth but no bad taste since I've put it on my lips! yay
  4. So I've been taking Culturelle for a few months now, and my digestion is improving, but after reading Real Life with Celiac Disease by Dennis and Leffler, I am thinking about switching brands based on this excerpt from p. 283 of their book: "Most probiotics, in fact, are able to affect the intestinal barrier function favorably, increasing its tightness...
  5. did you have a complete celiac blood panel done? that is total iga-used as a control to make sure you produce enough iga to validate the other results DGP iga/igg ttg iga/igg EMA what about low stomach acid? many people with GERD actually have low stomach acid, and those PPIs may be doing more harm than good. I take HCL capsules with hard to...
  6. well, I had a GI follow-up today, and I guess it was good, but still leaves me with more questions. He said to ask my PCP about the possibility of 50,000 IUs of Vitamin D and said to take more Vitamin K. Luckily, I already have an appointment with my PCP on Tuesday to get my cholesterol checked and a physical appointment since I haven't been there in awhile...
  7. I've been working on doing this, and will do so more this summer. The GI did agree that it is best at 50 or over. Thanks
  8. let us know how it goes!
  9. so after realizing I probably don't get enough calcium from my food since I'm not eating dairy, I went and bought some fortified rice milk since rice never seems to give me any trouble. I've had trouble with almonds in the past and am avoiding soy, so I didn't want any type of nut or soy based milk. I bought Rice Dream Enriched formula, which was labeled...
  10. I agree with taking a good quality probiotic. Have you been tested for fructose malabsorption? Open Original Shared Link good luck!
  11. hope you're feeling better this morning! any idea on how much longer you'll have to wait for the DGP-IgG test? After that, have you had all necessary tests done that you can go gluten free? I hope so!
  12. I'm so glad that you have answers I hope your son feels much better soon!!
  13. Marcus, I should've asked earlier, did they tell you anything after the procedure? How long until you get your results? Hope you're feeling better
  14. hi KBB, I edited my above response to say only request the DGP IgG test since you are IgA deficient. You're low immunoglobulin A can definitely give you a false negative result for IgA based tests, but since your lab automatically reflexed to running the ttg IgG since you're IgA is low, the IgG result is valid. "IgG DGP appears to be very helpful...
  15. I was also asleep for the procedure, but my throat was sore for a few days.
  16. since you were IgA negative it looks like your lab automatically reflexed and performed the ttg IgG test which was also negative, but a complete panel was not performed. Can you see if you are able to get DGP IgA/IgG tests performed? Adding these two tests will make it a complete panel. Low Vitamin D is one of the common deficiencies linked with Celiac...
  17. I ordered Red! for when I'm feeling really adventurous, and Flirt With Me for more of an everyday look. I've never been a big lipstick fan, but change can be a good thing!
  18. I'd say those are some pretty conclusive results for being celiac! I'd say the biopsy is up to you. good luck!
  19. Thanks for posting your review! The Celiac Diva had a buy one get one deal on Red Apple Lipstick, and I was hesitant, but I think I'm going to try it based on what you said. Thanks PS-Heres the BOGO link she had on facebook Open Original Shared Link
  20. I had a positive DGP IgG in January with anything over 29 being a strong positive. In January I had a 43, and after three months gluten free starting in March, it dropped to a 32. I've been diligent with things, haven't eaten out since going gluten free, I do live in a shared apartment, but I am very careful with cleaning to avoid cross contamination. ...
  21. it looks like you produce enough IgA, but it appears that they didn't even run the ttg IgA tests this time IgA 3.79 3.68 0.71-3.79 normal - no action Anti-tissue Transglutaminase...
  22. got it mmcc54, I would agree with GottaSki from the other thread and request while at the EGD: Total IgA serum test to see if she makes enough IgA for her ttg IgA result to be considered valid DGP IgA/IgG test good luck on Tuesday!!
  23. Is the first part I underlined actually the same tests you were referring to as the second underlined section, or is it two sets of completely different tests? The difference I notice is that one over 6 is positive the other is over 9. Can you clarify? I'm just trying to figure out if all four of these tests were for Tiss Transglutam or if the first two...
  24. for some reason I was under the impression that her total IgA was normal, but I would definitely find that out! my lab report for total IgA stated the following: Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 240 mg/dL ref. range 91-414 mg/dL so I do produce enough IgA antibodies for my results to be valid From what you typed below, it looks like a total IgA...
  25. It is normal for women to experience breast tenderness in the 1st 3 months after going gluten free…. good to know because I never used to have that problem, but now before that time of the month it's happening, so hopefully that will resolve soon!
