ARCHIVED I Just Need To Get This Out.... (Death Mentioned)Brandiwine replied to mommy2krj's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Welcome to the forum! I'm very sorry about your friend, I too lost my very best to an autoimmune disorder and the doctors ended up killing her with and experimental drug that stopped her heart while laying in a hospital bed... I understand your anger and part of mine is just selfish I know it is because I don't have her anymore! I want to say that it does...

ARCHIVED Knee PainBrandiwine replied to mtarek70's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs My son woke up some nights complaining of leg pain and some days he also had pain, I thought it was "growing pains" at the time. He hasn't had any nights like that since GFD, the night terrors also went away. Any way he is being glutened or CC? Could also be a deficiency...

Potassium deficiency is what I had when I had leg cramps. Started a potassium supplement. My Godmother got them for years and resently found it was due to artificial sweeteners and Aspartme in her flavored drinks....

ARCHIVED So Confused! Milk, Dairy, Casein?Brandiwine replied to Auntie-Manda's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut That's understandable. Dairy did the same thing to me before I went vegan. Some times a bowl of ice cream was fine and some times it wasn't, same with cheese. I'm not sure why unless it has something to do with damage done from gluten I read on another thread earlier today that went into depth about why dairy can be an issue for us I will try to find it and...

ARCHIVED So Confused! Milk, Dairy, Casein?Brandiwine replied to Auntie-Manda's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut Only thing I know to suggest is to go two weeks with out dairy, and try a cup of milk but nothing else with dairy for a few days see how you feel. If no symptoms after those few days try cheese but nothing else dairy and see what happens. Some ppl have a dairy intolerance other a casein intolerance which can be found in non dairy items. That's all I know...

ARCHIVED Gluten Sensitivity Or Disordered Eating? Not Sure What To Do?Brandiwine replied to quester's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Okay, I'll try to keep my thoughts straight here. It sounds like your ED is stress related (work) and you should definitely try to get a hold on that as you maybe causing damage by throwing up so much. I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux at 15 and I got a sore on my esophagus from the acid coming up, making it impossible to eat or drink anything but water...

ARCHIVED 3 Months Into Gfd: Dehydrated And ConstipatedBrandiwine replied to funkflex's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease The best thing that has helped my fatigue is taking a bit B Complex daily. But I know too that I have an intolerance to something else in my diet, just started and elimination diet, I think it's yeast or soy. Elimination diet seems to be the only way to go to pin pointing the issue.

What is it about shows making Celiacs out to be weaklings?! She saying a Celiac can't put away a steak?! ( not this Celiac cause I'm Vegan which she also makes a comment about in one if her videos where she says we should stay home and eat our pre-prepared meals) she acts like a man with Celiac is cutting his food with pinkies up!!! Unbelievable at the ignorance...

ARCHIVED My Only Celiac Friend Started Eating Gluten Again, And I Feel Alone.Brandiwine replied to rorenchan's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I'm certain my mother and brother have Celiac I believe my Aunt (mothers side) has it as well as their brother that passed away two years ago in his 40s. My mother is diagnosed with MS. My brother has sick migraines and nose bleeds and gets D. I wish I could get them to see what they are doing to themselves. They won't listen to me because in my search to...

ARCHIVED Serious Relief From Apple Cider VinegarBrandiwine replied to MitziG's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I keep ACV for everything from a tooth ache, to dandruff!! This stuff is amazing. I make kale with sliced apple and ACV to help my healing process. I've heard that you cans add a cup to bath water to cure yeast infections. I use diluted ACV on a swab to clean my face and it keeps my completion clear and tone.

ARCHIVED But It's Not Gluten-Free!Brandiwine replied to bartfull's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I would have felt the same way, but it doesn't sound like you were rude and you did explain yourself saying it would make you sick. It's hard knowing you may cause some one else grief by complaining, but he didn't seem to mind causing you to be ill either. It is part of his job to serve you politely. He won't learn otherwise and you shouldn't have to pass...

ARCHIVED New To gluten-free And Seeking Suggestions! Running To Work - Lunch?Brandiwine replied to Noachka's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Do you have a freezer at work? You could precook and freeze meals and pull them out and put the in the frig the afternoon before. Pre-make gluten-free pasta salad. And I know if it was me I would get an electric hot eye to heat my food. Microwaves are not good for you at all. I bought two of the same plant, watered one with tap water one with microwaved water...

ARCHIVED Undiagnosed, Feeling Unwell, Not Sure What To Do Next!Brandiwine replied to hopeonthemove's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I wanted to get the tests done because it is weird to say you have Celiac when you don't have a diagnoses and people don't take it seriously if you call it a sensitivity. I just can not make myself go back to eating gluten knowing what it does to me, if one meal would be enough to test I still wouldn't want to but probably would. I just can't suffer for weeks...

ARCHIVED Why Are Gi Symptoms Worse In The Morning?Brandiwine replied to SeekingSarah's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I too have mornings like this that do usually get better as the day goes on. I wish I had an answer, as much as I'm glad to know what's wrong with me these days, I hate that abstaining from gluten isn't enough and that there aren't answers for how to make it better :-/

I did this exact same thing before I knew what was wrong with me. I cut sugar out of my diet completely (was hard at the time) but I did manage to add it back to my diet later with no problems. Chocolate still gives me some D if eat to much but doesn't usually come with any other side effects. You aren't alone though I remember feeling just like that after...

ARCHIVED Is Yeast Gluten Free?Brandiwine replied to River*'s topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I asked this when I first joined the forum because it was a little confusing to me and got these answers. I have done no research myself about yeast but I now know since a few days ago that I can't have it, it makes me sick and feel as if I've been glutened. Not saying it has gluten, most of us have other allergies besides gluten, yeast is one of mine apparently...
