  1. Oh my gosh Chelsea: You have to eat gluten until your test? That is just awful, why do you have to do it? Is it a must to have the biposy? I can't imagine what you must be going through. If the damage has not been done to your villi when you have the biopsy that doesn't mean you don't have celiac, it just means that the villi is not yet damaged. At...
  2. Hi Lisa: How are you feeling this morning? Don't forget to call the doctor
  3. Ok Susan I have been sitting on the edge of town for hours, no lights are on yet. Now the sun is coming up here and I must get off to work. I will try to enter Rachelville again tonight. Can you ask the dingos to chase away the tumbleweeds? They kind of scared me away!
  4. Hello and welcome Charlene. I know it's amazing that more doctors don't become aware of it and start checking for the disease. Hopefully things will improve in that regard. It's getting better, wwhen I joined up there were only a little over 500 people on this board, now there re over 10,000. That's in a span of about three years.
  5. Lisa: If it helps a few years ago I had been taking klonopin for restless legs and decided I should stop taking it, so I stopped just like that. I thought I was going to die, my heart was going crazy, it was just awful. I didn't talk to my doctor about tapering off it, just stopped, and didn't make the connection for several months. Anyway, I have been...
  6. Oh Susan: Did you give me wrong directions? Did I get lost someplace on the way to Rachelville? I might run out of gas before I make it to the next town.
  7. I see what you are saying Jennifer. Maybe you can Im or email the picture to her?
  8. I see your dog Jenn, is that what you are talking about?
  9. Ok, Susan: Here I am, but where did everyone else go? DO I have B.O.? What? where am I
  10. Hi Patti: It's good to finally see you! Lisa: I hope this finds you feeling better. The social worker in me is asking if everyone is getting along now? It is a very frustrating disease, and one which many of have had many different experiences with. I agree for those of us that have gone years being misdiagnosed, being either told or made to feel...
  11. Ok Susan but before I go I would like to know what job I can have
  12. He Susan: You were probably an agressive driver due to the gluten you were consuming!
  13. I tend to agree with you Karen, the further south I have gone the more agressive the driving gets. That has been my experience anyway. If it get's too bad, just get in the car and start driving north! Keep going and we can all meet up someplace and eat!
  14. Hi Jodele: Best of luck to you and your little one. You will be in my thoughts and prayers
  15. Karen: It is every year. It's great, lot's of food, lot's of people.
  16. She may call you again Susan. I think your thoughts will probably stay with her and when she is ready to listen she will hear them. Anyway, I have enjoyed your posts! I remember how overwhelming all of this was when I first learned of it. I thought whey was wheat, then I thought gluten was just wheat and I remember thinking that gluten was in everything...
  17. I said I would ask for my daughter, no it's true, it really is for her! Are Jagermeister and Red Bull gluten free? I guess they mix them together.
  18. To me it's just like I would imagine any chronic condition would be. There are going to be some good days and some not so good days. I think it has probably taken me about 3 years to feel pretty healthy. Is there something going on in your life that is making things difficult now? Are you 100 % sure everything is gluten free?
  19. Hey Susan: I might be there. I have been 2 previous years. They have a really great lunch and lot's of samples of gluten-free foods. Maybe those of us that are going can meet up somewhere?
  20. I agree, the risk of CC is pretty big. I used to eat at McDonalds but since the whole fishy french fry story I have stayed away from there
  21. I haven't experienced this, but I would probably have the doctor check it out. Maybe someone else on the board has?
  22. I just read that article last night. Hopefully this is the first of many to be published.
  23. I agree all first degree relatives should be tested. I wsa diagnosed approx. 3 years ago, then last year my mother got really sick and was diagnosed with celiac, then just because my brother was concerned he had himself tested and it was positive for blood, the biopsy showed no villi and it had affected his bones. One of my daughters has also tested positive...
  24. It has taken me about three years to put on weight. I think it might be that our bodies are very depleted by the time we are diagnosed and also I don't find gluten free food to have quite as many calories as other food does.
  25. Hi Dingogirl: I don't know what's up with Oprah, we went on a letter writing campaign last year and she never responded. It's beyond my understanding why someone has not picked up on this and done a show. They could help so many people. Anyway, let us know if you hear anything
