  1. Can someone help he. I am so computer dense. I want to change my avatar but I can't remember how to do it. I really need step by step instructions! Thank-you so much I want to put a regular picture in there
  2. Does anybody know if all of the Whole Foods carry gluten-free bakery goods? I think that is one of the things I miss the most. I understand there is a Whole Foods about 2 1/2 hours away from where I live and I was wondering if there are specific foods I should look for or if they have specific areas where they carry the gluten-free products? Thanks!
  3. I think it's a great idea. Celiac presents with so many diffirent symptoms that it would be interesting to see how he figures it out.
  4. I think that has been well said by all of you. I wanted to let all of you know I will be off the boards for awhile. I have been very sick the last few weeks. It's not celiac disease but I am going to my mom's for awhile until I see a doctor at UCSF. I will miss all your posts and the support each of you have given me.
  5. I have eaten things that say they are made in a plant that produces wheat products. I have not had a reaction. I think they put that there to be on the safe side with so many people ready to sue nowadays. I will have to try the nut-thins.
  6. Hi Dessa: The only bread I have found that tastes good is from kinnikinnick. Today I used the english muffins, put butter and cheese on them and then broiled them. I haven't tried the bread without toasting it because all of the other ones tasted so bad. But this brand toasted or broiled is pretty good. I think it is most like I remember bread tasting...
  7. I have read that 20% of people with celiac continue on with the symptoms. I would imagine a small portion of those people might somehow be getting gluten in their diet. Also there is something called refactory (sp) that also occurs and is usually cleared up by steroids. I know about pain, mine used to double me over it was so bad. I didn't think I would...
  8. Amanda's mom Put that name in google. They have probably the best gluten-free products I have tasted! Anyway, it will tell you how to order them when you visit their site!
  9. Amanda's mom: I don't think there is anything wrong with getting her a medical alert bracelet. I think it's up to each person to decide I am sure nobody took offense at that!
  10. I guess I don't miss them because I didn't know what they were, but they sound really good! How about what we miss the most? I suppose I miss pasta with alfredo sauce! Unless I want sweets, then it would be an apple fritter!

  12. Those are pretty funny!
  13. Thanks Kaiti. I don't know why I have always thought they had gluten
  14. Thanks Ian. My son played with transformers. I just didn't remember the names. I thought maybe you were going to run for president. A celiac president, that would be a wonderful thing. I have read there is some thought that JFK had celiac, but they really didn't know about it then. I would like someone really famous to have it and bring more awareness...
  15. Deanna: I think we have all been where you are now. It is a very difficult disease to deal with. I don't think there are any easy answers. Like I have said so much of our communication is around meals. I think we just do the best we can. I think that some days are more difficult than others. There are times when I tell myself to suck it up that...
  16. Hi Jean: How were they able to determine you had bacteria and a yeast infection? Thanks
  17. Hey Ian: What is the president thing in your signature?
  18. I have had 2. The first one I don't remember but the second one I woke up. It's not so bad, not like the colonscopy. At least that was my experience. You will be ok! I agree with the above, have him/her give you something before to calm your nerves.
  19. Those were funny. Mine was half a cheese sandwich. The funny thing was it didn't taste as good as I remembered!
  20. I thought all cheeses were ok unless they were processed or shredded? Thanks
  21. Ed: I have a question for you. I went to Subway and asked if I could just buy their meat so I could have a sandwich and they wouldn't do it. Is that the policy or is it just the Subway in my town? Thanks
  22. OK Kimberley: I just gotta know. Where did you find your very cute avatar?
  23. You guys are so lucky! It's so hard to find gluten-free restaurants here in Northern Ca. There was a post about frozen meals (mainstream) that now had gluten-free food. Does anybody know how to find that post? Thanks!
