  1. It does make me wonder. Years ago I had a brain tumor taken out, at the time they found another lesion on my brain and were sure it was MS because of other symptoms. Sure makes me wonder now....
  2. Aljf: We are here for you. Remember to take care of yourself. There are a lot of us that are where you are or have been there.
  3. I agree that there are worse things we could have and that there are so many people that are worse off. However, that being said I don't think we should downplay the impact this disease has on our lives. It is very difficult, it changes your ability to go out and eat, be with friends, date etc. It can be controlled with diet but I think we shouldn't forget...
  4. Hi Leslie: I don't know it can't hurt to just go ahead and have the colonscopy done. Even though the symptoms are gone now let me explain what happened to me. I had one done just before or around the time they diagnosed the celiac. He removed 5 pre-cancerous lesions. I guess there are 2 kinds, one that turns cancerous and one that does not. I hated...
  5. I had some from kinnikinnick and thought it was really good.
  6. Hey Kaiti: How do you still have a box of them? I buy them and they are gone the same day!
  7. wow, thanks for the info Amber!
  8. I like that, real friends don't let celiac's eat gluten. Think that will be my new mantra!
  9. Thanks Kaiti That made me laugh Ianm
  10. I really like the projectile vomiting! It was hard today because management provided pizza and brownies for lunch. But I did good eating my gluten-free lunch. It just made me kind of feel set apart from everybody.
  11. I think there are benefits to both. If you feel better being gluten free then do it. The only upside of having a diagnosis is that for many of us we spent years thinking it was all in our heads. The only downside I can think of is depending on your age, how your eligibility for insurance would be effected.
  12. I don't know, it seems like I don't even try to explain it anymore. I just let people assume that I am on the Adkins diet, or have an allergy and if the food is in question I just don't eat it. It just seems like it get's too complicated to try to explain it. I just get tired of the "oh, your allergic to wheat." or, "on the Adkins diet?" and I weigh 1...
  13. I was thinking today that if the end of my life was near, I would eat everything in sight. Anyway, I don't think there is a cure, I think there would be too much damage, that maybe we couldn't see. I don't want to take the chance. It took too many years for the doctor's to figure out what was wrong!
  14. A lot of people talk about entrolab, I don't know if the spelling is right. From what I have gathered they test for a specific gene. Maybe someone else has the answer. I always say if you feel better gluten-free then stay gluten-free. I wish I had understood it before the celiac took such a toll on me.
  15. Yes Kimberley I do believe in the power of prayer. I have been praying to be healed for a long time. I don't know if he is not listening or if he has another purpose for all of this. Miracles can and do happen. Keep praying.
  16. Hi Mel: Do you know if there was a problem with the bentyl? Thanks
  17. Are there any of these resturants in Northern California?
  18. How about you know your a celiac when you are sitting home on a Saturday night posting on the celiac site instead of out to dinner with your friends!
  19. It just takes time Fonda. You will get there!
  20. I take Bentyl for the spasms.
  21. When I did a search on the site for gluten free only 2 cookies and one cake came up. Did I do something wrong?

ARCHIVED Do I Need A Dr.

oh Ianm, I think great minds think alike! I have been sick the last couple of months with something other than celiac, but I had your signature going through my head yesterday at work and then saw it on your post today. Made me smile. Michaelene: I think you need to get a new doctor, some of them just don't know much about it. I remember when the...
  23. Hi Sheila: I wanted to see how your mom was. Your post really made me think and today I am feeling a lot more perky and hopeful. I just wanted to thank-you for making me think. I would have your mom checked further, also your mom has to want to get through it. I really think our minds can make us sicker.
