  1. That's what I said to each her own. I don't know if there are any facts to back up what I said it is just what I have observed. I just am afraid to get one. I also think that many people don't check to be sure what kind of place they are getting one, I think people should be more careful. If someone wants one they should check it out, that's all I am...
  2. Hi Sheila: I can only tell you about my own experiences. I have a hard time gaining weight, my daughters have had the same worries about me. They also would say that I was strong and vibrant before all of this. Part of the issue for me is that I really do miss the old food. I don't eat it or even cheat because I hate the symptoms so much. The new...
  3. Oh my gosh Kaiti, after reading that I wouldn't get one. I always worried about hep c from getting one. I know people say it won't happen but I know a lot of people that have tattoo's and now have hep. c. Too scary for me. I guess it goes back to each his/her own.
  4. Hi Molly: What part of California do you live in?
  5. Oh my gosh Kaiti, I can't believe that. What an idiot. I hope you don't feel bad about that. It's more telling on what kind of person he is. I think if he sues you we should all show up at Court! Maybe we can tell him you mass infected all of us!
  6. Ok, I am a chicken and will be the first to admit it, but I think I will check tomorrow! If you find anything out for sure let us know Thanks
  7. I agree, get the kids tested, you may want to find a new doc.
  8. I think AIDS, celiac anybody that thinks that any disease is worth ending a relationship should be kicked to the curb. I lost my brother to AIDS, and remember well how people reacted. I wouldn't have room for anyone like that in my life
  9. Thanks celiac3270

Oh sidore You can't eat gluten even after a year. If anything it will make you more sick because your body is not used to it. I am glad we have each other or statements like that will just make people sick
  11. Does anybody know if this has taken effect?Manufacturers will find the activity on their consumer hot lines decreasing dramatically as they 'tell all' on their labels," according to Hillson who is also a celiac and the mother of a celiac teenager. Representative Nita Lowey (NY) a sponsor of the bill, explains "With no treatment for celiac disease, the...
  12. Welcome Pharmer: I can only answer your questions with my own experience. It looks like your level would indicate celiac. For the biopsy to be accurate you would have to continue eating gluten. Many of us were diagnosed with IBS initally. Anemia is one of the signs. Surgery can kick celiac in gear. It does impact your social life. It changes...

I agree. I don't think the biopsy is necessary. I am not sure why they even do it if the numbers are positive. the only think I can think of is that they make more money? I hope that's not the case, it's just a thought.
  14. I have used Robitussin without a problem. Hope that helps.
  15. Holgate: What about natural foods? Fruit, vegetables etc.? It's just awful that it is so hard to find gluten-free food over there. It's difficult enough here, I can't even imagine. It seems like it would make a person not want to eat at all.
  16. Hermit: If you stay off gluten and then have the blood tests won't it show negative?
  17. Ok, Karen did you make a new cake or are we talking about the chocolate one?
  18. I think that cheescake sounds great also. I saw a recipe to make one using pamelas cookies but I haven't tried it yet.
  19. Yes Richard you are right, it's called Chocolate Thunder from Down Under. But boy was it good! I am still thinking about it.......
  20. If I were you Hermit I would just make sure you are gluten free. If it shows even a weak positive, if you had been off gluten it can show a normal blood test. It's "Trendy" to have celiac. It's statements like this that make my blood boil. It is also statements like this that make the medical profession look foolish. They might view it as trendy...
  21. Hi celiac3270: Do you get the alerts by setting the preference? I did that but it didn't ask for my e-mail address or anything. Thanks!
  22. Hi minibabe: The one I went to was in Chico, California. I dreamed about that brownie last night and can still taste it. They had a gluten-free menu and list it on there as made without flour and safe to eat. They didn't have this brownie on the regular menu, I looked. I had told the waiter that I heard they had gluten-free food and he said they had...
  23. That was sweet minibabe!
  24. I don't know yet if he is a keeper, but time will tell! Thanks!
  25. Thank's Turtle! I can't even tell you how wonderful it was! I wish there was one close to me!
