  1. I was never checked for any other allergies. How and what do I need to ask for? Thanks Sally
  2. Thank's for the link Barbara. Don't worry about your response, we can all be a little snippy at times, just ask my children! Thanks Sally
  3. celiac3270: Interesting information! Thanks Sally
  4. I agree with the above. I ate a piece of bread a few months ago, I just wanted a good sandwich. Needlesss to say I got very ill and it's not worth that. The other strange thing I noticed is the bread didn't taste as good as it used to? I won't be eating it again! Sally
  5. I know what you mean Stephanie, we just want an answer for what's wrong. I would say just keep up the gluten free lifestyle and if you feel better that's all you need to know for yourself, you feel better, and that's all that matters Sally
  6. Ok celiac3270: Get some sleep, sweet dreams. Sally
  7. Welcome Yitz: I agree with all of the above. Just don't be fooled into believing she can eat gluten once in a while, it does a lot of damage that she may not be able to see or feel now, but years from now it will take a toll on her body. It can cause infertility and many other problems. Just take it slow and you will learn a lot of information from...
  8. Hi Emma: Be sure to post whatever you find out. That would be awful if they tell us if and when we need it that it's a pre-exsisting condition. Sally
  9. Thank's Shirley. I would love a good piece of bread. When I went to the celiac conference at Stanford University in October there was a company named I can eat that. They had the best bread and pizza crust. I guess they don't sell it by mail but there are some stores in the bay area that have it. The following stores are carrying it. (I wish they...
  10. I would be doing the same thing But, I can hardly wait to see what celiac3270 has to say!
  11. I ordered a bracelet that has part of the money going to the celiac foundation. It's beautiful, a green beaded and crystal bracelet I had it engraved with celiac. If anybody is interested e-mail sales@angelicgrooves.com Sally
  12. Hi Mariann: I was just wondering what, if any are the benefits to having an actual diagnosis of celiac. I seems to me that a lot of people have not wanted the official diagnosis due to health insurance? I was just wondering because when I tell people I have celiac they look at me totally confused, same if I say gluten. If I say wheat they usually say...
  13. I agree Kaiti. We all started out new here and it can be overwhelming to say the least when we begin. Heck, I have had it for 3 years that I know of but had symptoms at least 15 years ago. I went through the it's IBS, stress, depression etc. Anyway, sometimes it's still overwhelming. Many times you will find people with similar symptoms, feelings...
  14. Hi Trying for Faith: My doctor seems to know quite a bit about celiac. I live in Nothern California and he practices in Ukiah California. If you live close by, let me know and I'll give you his name. Sally
  15. Hi Stephanie: If you were off gluten for that long before doing the test that would lead me to believe that your tests would show a false negative. You have one of the genes, I would just stay away from gluten. Best of luck Sally
  16. I am trying to get a support group going in my area for people with celiac. Does anyone have any suggestions or helpful hints and what all I will need to do? The best way to get it going and keep it going strong? I did e-mail some gluten free companies to see if they would donate any products. Thanks Sally
  17. Hi Robin: What happened when you took Zoloft? Thanks Sally
  18. Sounds good celiac3270, take good notes! Thanks Sally
  19. Hi Molly: There is a conference every year in California. It's at Stanford and they have some really good speakers. I think it's in October. I have been the last 2 years. Let us know about anything new. Thanks Sally
  20. Hi Robin: Boy, that sounds rough. If you and he feel better going gluten-free I would just keep doing it. I wish I had some answers for you, it's just such a difficult disease and appears to effect so many different things. I would just keep both of you off any gluten containing products. If it works that's all that matters. Try fixing his pasta with...
  21. I have had the same problem. I think I have seen it referred to here as starving stomach. When it hit's me it usually happens a day before I get really ill. I think I must have ingested gluten at some point, them I feel like I am starving then it's followed by sickness. It's almost like I can't get enough food. Hope it helps
  22. I went to the celiac conference at Stanford in October. They said a pill is on the way. But here's the catch, after taking it you can have one piece of bread a month! I wouldn't do it. I just don't want to be somebody's lab rat. Plus, I am afraid of the damage it might do to my body, not just the pill but eating the gluten.
  23. It made me sick so I stopped taking it. Just wean yourself off it, I went cold turkey because I didn't know any better and the withdrawl was awful. Hope it helps Sally
  24. Thanks Kelly! I can hardly wait to try it! Sally
  25. Can you write the ingredients and the directions for those of us that don't have the book. Thanks! Sally
