  1. I did an IgG food intolerance blood test. It confirmed foods I had suspected as listed in my food diary like red kidney beans and made aware of foods I never suspected like Casein (dairy) and peas. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juliebove... at the grocery store I saw Corn Tortillas... Oh good...
  2. To echo the others above... My previous doctor gave me the same bad advice as you got. That was a big mistake for me to not be tested back when I was at my worst. It's worth the money to do a Celiac panel total IgA, tTG-IgA, DGP-IgA, DGP-IgG as you will get answers. It's worse to be in a state of uncertainty. Eat lots of...
  3. Are you refering to aches and pains? My fibromyalgia vanishes around 4 pm too or in the evening, but not everyday.
  4. Hello Womble, The only diagnosis I've received so far is wheat intolerance as my Celiac panel appears normal. If you can't get Celiac blood tests where you are I recommend cutting out wheat and gluten and dairy-milk as a test. Good luck.
  5. Nosy Parker... I'll answer questions 1 and 4... 1. That annoys me so much when I hear nutrition experts say that the gluten free diet is un-nutritional. I've been doing the gluten challenge and when I cranked up on the bread, it meant I wasn't eating as much vegetables like the purple cabbage and carrots etc etc that I was eating in my salad. ...
  6. Hi powerofpositivethinking... When you get tested for vitamin D, make sure it's both D.25 and D 1.25 My D.25 was low normal and my D 1.25 was over the limit. D 1.25 is the active form your body makes. Vitamin D is actually a steroid hormone. I cringe whenever I hear TV doctors saying to take vitamin D because mine was too high. I stopped taking...
  7. Thank you for that information Kareng. I was worried I hadn't eaten enough gluten as I was gluten free for 2 years and I never cheated. ………………………………………………………………………………… Hello 1desperateladysaved, Yes I'm quite happy about doing the IgG food intolerance test too. There were foods that I liked and dreaded might turn up like eggs and cheeze. ...
  8. How low can the Total IgA be to have accurate Celiac test results? Mine are: Total IgA: 0.83 range is: 0.69 - 3.82 g/L Has anyone on this board ever tested positive with a low Total IgA?
  9. Yes get a copy of the pathologist's report. I always ask for copies and found stuff on them that a specialist wasn't telling me that was important, and even mistakes on other reports. Also get on the horn (the phone) to find out what blood tests were done and where are the results. Sometimes the labs can forget to send them and your busy doctor forgot...
  10. I agree with ravenwoodglass, get the up to date DGP tests like in this panel that I did: Total IgA (a control test to make sure you have enough immunoglobulin IgA) Transglutaminase IgA (tTG-IgA) Deaminated Gliadin IgA (DGP-IgA) Deaminated Gliadin IgG (DGP- IgG) This test should cover all...
  11. Hi johl, I'm the same way, I have to have my printed notes when I see a doctor. Some are annoyed but most don't mind and some compliment me. I saw an allergist to see what foods were causing me my asthma. She did the IgE skin scratch test. My doctor also told me to ask her about my fibromyalgia as she's an immunologist but she didn't know much...
  12. Hi taynichaf I went gluten free in October 2010 to relieve my fibromyalgia pain. The doctor back then didn't want me to do a Celiac panel test which was bad advice. The pain came back during 2011. I thought it was gluten but I later realised it was other foods and in January 2013 I did an IgG food intolerance test to confirm this. I needed...
  13. Hello Forum Members, I'd like to introduce myself... I've been coming to the forum for about 2 months to learn about the tests. I saw I wasn't the only one who was puzzled...thank you for all the information. It is amazing how little doctors know in contrast to you all. I don't know where to start but here it goes... (sorry for the long intro...
  14. Your daughter has Celiac ! Doesn't that doctor know that Celiac is hereditary? That should be proof enough for the doctor: close family member + high DGP-IgG = do an endoscopy to confirm. (+ test the father)
  15. Hi Jorona, I'm new too but I've been reading for a while. You are correct, AGA-IgA and AGA-IgG is the older Celiac test. In fact when I went to do the Celiac panel last week I was also supposed to be doing the AGA-IgA and AGA-IgG but the lab no longer offered them and they told me it's now only DGP instead of AGA. AGA-IgA and AGA-IgG is now used...
