  1. Oh wow. That is horrible. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that, and I thank you for sharing your experience with me. I appreciate it. I don't want to pry and ask any further questions, but I do hope that he has respected your wishes and that you are feeling much better from being distanced from him. I would say it's tough because I am still living...
  2. I think this Falcor look alike will do nicely for now
  3. Karen - HA! Good idea. He can always tell when I'm confused, because he'll trail off and go "You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?" We have our strengths and weaknesses, so it works out. I am the grammar nerd, he is the computer genius. We balance each other out in a lot of ways. But he doesn't get why I want a C.D player! Oh come on! What am I...
  4. Yes! I definitely need to. And I will. Part of me doesn't want to wait until training is over, but the new job is so close to my parents' house, and so far from my boyfriend's. It's really a tough situation. I finally find a job that is close to my house..right when I am looking to move out. Sigh. And of course - you are their mother. It is good that...
  5. Thank you, everyone! I just had to get it all out. The main person I vent to about all of this is my boyfriend, but it's hard because in doing so I have basically made him hate her. That wasn't my intention. It's weird, because she has her moments where she'll be "motherly" but they're so infrequent. She also decided to announce that living with celiac disease...
  6. Yes! Absolutely. I view food so much differently now, especially since the diet I am on (Specific Carbohydrate Diet) is so strict. Now instead of just checking for gluten and soy, I also am wary of additives, artificial sweeteners, fillers, etc. It drives me nuts! Why do they put all of this crap in our food? I cook a lot now, when I'm at my boyfriend's house...
  7. (I'll try to keep this brief) I still live at home with my parents, not by choice. I have never had a job that paid very much, and I paid my way through school. I help them pay the bills, I buy my own food, pay for my own gas, etc etc so I am not "mooching" off of them or anything along those lines - just to make that clear. My mom and I have had...
  8. My turkey turned out pretty good! Thank you for all of the tips..especially the one about adding broth to the turkey when heating it up. That really did help! I didn't bother with making gravy, the broth worked pretty well - but maybe I'll try that next year I do miss peanut butter. I am "allergic" to peanuts (came up as allergic on an allergy test...
  9. Oh wow! Lol! Thank you everyone for your support and kind thoughts, I really appreciate it! I was so stressed out, it was such a huge relief. I really need this job, and I wasn't about to let it go over something so trivial. Thank you again! It's so nice to have such a supportive group of people to come and talk to.
  10. UPDATE: I was approved for an alternative test last Tuesday, and I took the test (saliva test) on Wednesday. I just found out that I was cleared to start work this Thursday! YES! I did it!
  11. Awesome. You guys are great. Thanks for the help! I definitely will. Wish me luck! I'm hoping the weather holds out..we're supposed to get a bad storm. :\
  12. Thanks everyone! I am rather difficult though...I have to go above gluten free I can't have corn or potato, since I am on the SCD Diet (no grains, and no starches like potatoes, yams, turnips, etc - it's torture, but it seems to be helping ) and the only SCD legal broth I have found is organic vegetable broth - it would work in a pinch, but the smell...
  13. Any tips? This will be my first time cooking a turkey. I do not have a crockpot, or slow cooker, or etc yet. Would a large Pyrex dish work? I think I am going to use this recipe: Open Original Shared Link Also, should i make it sometime tomorrow and just heat it up before eating it, or should i make it the day of? I would have asked all of this...
  14. Hi there, and welcome to the forum. You definitely came to the right place - there are tons of people on here that are willing to help you ease into this transition. It does get easier with time. Check out the Newbie 101 forum. We all know how you feel. Although I feel so much better since going gluten free, in my case - going gluten free wasn't enough...
  15. I know this might sound weird...but I just use extra virgin coconut oil. It's naturally gluten, paraben, and sulfate free, it smells great, and a little bit goes a long way. One jar will last you for years. It doesn't go bad. I just keep it in my room and use it when needed. You just dab a finger in it and scoop some up..it's great for your face, hair, and...
  16. I don't know how much urine they actually needed, but they needed a LOT. 60ml maybe? Here is an example of a cup with a temperature gauge on the side; it looks similar to the one I was given: It has always been difficult for me to pee in a cup on command...but having to pee a LARGE amount, in a cup on demand - in less than five minutes... just...
  17. Thank you - that's very kind. I appreciate it. I really want this job - but at least I know that if I don't get it, I did everything in my power to try to get it. Ugh. So stressful just waiting!
  18. Thank you! Still waiting. On Friday they requested a dr's note from my doctor. He sent one. I emailed my recruiter to let her know that my doctor's office said the letter was sent, and I haven't heard anything since. Keeping my fingers crossed. :\
  19. I don't have a corn intolerance, so of course it is entirely up to you if you feel safe- but when I spoke to their customer service they assured me there was no corn. They include corn as a top allergen. They even knew to tell me that the only product that could be potentially unsafe for me was their oat soap, because they know some people with celiac disease...
  20. I called my recruiter and explained the situation before sending the email so that she had documentation of it. She was pretty understanding given the circumstances and she said she'd see if there is anything she can do. *fingers crossed*
  21. ravenwoodglass - Once i get insurance, I plan on getting officially diagnosed and having this put on my record, and hopefully I won't have to go through this again. 1desperatelady - We tried that. It eventually worked...that was how I got all of the pee in the cup...but it took me longer than 5 minutes, so the sample was worthless. Here is the final...
  22. They had urine bowls, but they told me that I couldn't use that because the pee had to go RIGHT in the cup, then be given to them in under 5 minutes, or the test results were worthless. The cups had a temperature gauge on them, the bowls did not...and the bowls weren't "sterile". They tried to help me but you could tell they were just frustrated and clearly...
  23. You're right - I am definitely not the only person with this issue. It's all over the internet! Apparently people with this "condition" (or whatever you would call it) have been fired when they failed to complete random urine testing at their jobs. It's terrible. As for the clinic...both women were absolutely stunned and confused by me. Frustrated as...
  24. I had a sleep study done back in August of 2010. They needed me to pee in a cup to analyze my urine to make sure I wasn't on any drugs or drinking any caffeine. I could NOT pee in the cup, and since I stayed there over night - I held my pee for ages (I didn't want to pee it all out in the toilet, I wanted it in the cup) Eventually the nurse gave me a...
  25. Here is a sample letter I just drafted. Advice would be appreciated. Hi (recruiter name), I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to reach out to you with a huge concern of mine. I went to Quest Diagnostics yesterday at about 1:20pm to complete the urine drug test as directed by (company name). Despite multiple attempts, I was not able to provide...
