  1. I'm not a doctor, but it does look more like an allergy to me, given that you break out in hives after eating wheat and your IgE was positive.
  2. Here's a thread from a while back that has a lot of technical biscuit discussion.....
  3. I love that book.
  4. Sounds like a good plan! When you get home, you're gonna have to rest up from yer vacation Aw--bet they can't wait till he comes back
  5. Yeah--the look would have been better suited for someone a lot younger than me It actually wasn't that bad, it was just sort of jarring.
  6. I'm definitely more sensitive to gluten than I was when I first went gluten-free. I don't use many processed foods, and don't recall a single time I was able to get away with anything made on the same lines as gluten. I'm 5 years in now, and my sensitivity level is about the same--it kinda leveled out.
  7. Believe it or not, the same thing happened to me recently. We had been invited out to dinner before Mark left, and I was going to wear black so I thought it would be nice to change my toenails from my usual peach to red. I got a really pretty (I thought) Chianti type deep red, but once I applied it it was too much of a good thing. It was dried blood...
  8. I wonder if your hives are being caused by a wheat allergy since your signature indicates that you tested negative for Celiac, but positive for several allergies. Wine contains sulfites, which could also trigger an allergy. All I can say about the wine/gluten issue is from my own experience. I'm a very sensitive Celiac and have never, as of yet anyway...
  9. I'm not posting me weight in any phorm
  10. This guy is talking out of both sides of his mouth and is asking for a lawsuit, if you ask me. His turning a blind eye to the rules and the emotionally abusive behavior of the teacher is dangerous for the children at that school.
  11. Well then...Happy Victoria Weekend to yall's up there!! Party on Em!!
  12. Next weekend. With the holiday, he'll be here 3 whole days Closet cleaning is one of those things I have to be in the mood for I wish you lived closer too...feels kinda lonely here since we only moved here 6 months ago and although I'm friendly with people, I really haven't made friends so to speak....which I suppose is for the best since I'll be leaving...
  13. Just sayin' hi--hope ya'll are enjoying yer cocktails and tomatoes....getting the weekend off to a rousing start
  14. Have a good time! I didn't go to restaurants at all from the time I was diagnosed until my wedding anniversary last year--it had been 4 years. I took a leap of faith, spoke to the waiter and the manager and ended up having a wonderful time. Didn't get sick either! Since then, I've been back many times--they know us there now and always go out of their...
  15. I'm partial to wine Real partial....
  16. Yes. They do a visual inspection and take (hopefully) numerous samples to biopsy since the damage is microscopic. Damage can still be missed this way, since the small intestine is more than 20 feet long. That is why a positive biopsy can rule Celiac in, but a negative one can't rule it out.
  17. Ain't it nice when the good guys win
  18. Those sound gooooood! How you feeling, Bun? That sounds very interesting. There was a sports doctor (well, that's what he said he was...lol!) on the board a while back and he would answer questions for us. I asked about legumes and he said that it's not unusual for folks with autoimmune diseases to have problems with them. I wish I could remember...
  19. Don't be skeert Khareign. You're not intolerant to them, right?
  20. I wonder what it is about them? A few other things will give me digestive problems, but legumes are different. Different even from gluten.
