  1. Interesting to think about this now after being gluten-free for four and a half years. In that time, I've learned how to make just about anything I want gluten-free and delicious. Two exceptions are big southern style biscuits and Krispy Creme donuts.
  2. You poor thing. Your doctor is dead wrong if he thinks antibodies will show up after 5 days. The rest of the testing, I would still do since a couple things showed up on my ultrasound and at my endoscopy that are good to know. As for the "gluten challenge"--I would stop it immediately. I'm so sorry you're so ill

  4. Reminds me that my older son used to poke holes in a package of Peeps and let them dry out before eating them--he liked them so much better that way. He said they got "crusty".....
  5. Stay warm, all of youse! Nuttin happening here--just pooped in to say good night.
  6. I love this!! mommaofthreebeans, I recommend the book, "The Gluten Free Kitchen" by Roben Ryberg. She uses a mixture of cornstarch and potato starch in all of the recipes in the book. The pizza crust is very good--there is a recipe for biscuits in there too. I'd shoot it to you, but I moved last fall and have not found a bunch of my books yet.
  7. Youse are made of some strong stock up there, Em! The weather peeps are all going nuts down here because...... it's supposed to go below freezing for 2 whole nights!!!!! <snort>

  9. I've always wished my hair were as pretty as yours curly but it always looked like a helmet . It won't grow long without looking all scraggly and if my curls could do what yours do, I'd be happy wif them. But they don't, so I phixed em Twas nice to catch up wif Estaban, too Haven't seen him in months!
  10. Yeah Had to pic up a phrame I'm giving as a gift and stop at Kroger on the way back. Hair is straight! It takes a couple days fer the body to come back--right now it's just plain straight. And longer I pheel so phree!! If I had gorgeous curls like Nik, I would go wif them, but mine are skitzoid--some corkscrews, some waves, no rhyme nor...

  17. I love how Nik talks The post-rating....is that operational? There seems to be a few do-hickey's that aren't working or working yet. It's gonna be cold here too in a few days. Granted, not as cold as youse guys but our normal high for this time of year is in the low 60's and it's in the 40's and will hit freezing pretty soon. I phinally get...
  18. Enjoy Life makes a safe and tasty candy bar. They are gluten, soy, and dairy free and made in a dedicated facility. I like the Dark Chocolate, but they also have a "Milk Chocolate" (made with rice milk), and a M/C with crispy rice. I was dairy free for 5 years and reacted to Rice Dream.
  19. We knew there was gonna be an update, but we're seeing it all for the phirst time along with everyone else.
  20. Thanks fer checkin on that fer us, Jan-it. Good to know we still need to be on the lookout fer the emoticon police in order not to be emoticonily busted
  21. Works for me, Shroomie!
  22. I'll bet it would be delicious--I've been wanting to try using zucchini sliced thin as "pasta". Riceguy's right--it would be more like spaghetti squash, which I also love. I also second the Tinkyada suggestion--that is more like "conventional" pasta and the best I've tried. If you're looking for grain free or low carb, the squashes are really very...
  23. I have this in my right ear. It started 2-3 years ago. I've asked several doctors about it and have been told that my eardrum is "slightly drawn in" which means there is some fluid behind it. I've asked a family doctor, internist, and an ear nose and throat doctor about it. I've been examined, had my hearing checked (normal) and the consensus is that...
  24. I love hot chicken soup when I don't feel well. If I don't feel up to making it (and don't have any in the freezer) I always keep some Pacific Foods Chicken Broth in the pantry. The individual serving boxes are nice to put into a mug and microwave. Glutino makes a cracker that is very good to go with or to nibble on if your stomach is iffy. Greek...
