  2. Nuts have definately bothered me--Diamond Walnuts comes to mind--their shelled walnuts are made on equipment that also processes wheat. I like the ones from Kroger that Janet mentioned--the ones at my location are from the Poindexter Nut Company and carry a gluten-free processing statement. Another company that has safe almonds and walnuts is Mariani...

  18. It means that they used cornstarch in the medication, not wheat starch. It is fine for you to use PS--Corn does have "gluten", but it's not the type Celiacs need to be concerned with
  19. Em--Charles' pic is adorable! He looks so happy to be a member of the family!
  20. My personal reaction to eggs was terrible nausea. It would hit like clockwork about 4 hours after I would eat them (delayed allergy). I think the best way to handle it would be to cut them out completely for say, 6 months, and then try a little if you want. It does take a while to figure all of this out--getting the gluten-free diet firstoff and...
  21. While I wouldn't call it "common", it's certainly not unusual for Celiacs to have additional food intolerances. I was very intolerant to eggs when I became gluten-free 4 years ago. After staying away from them for a while, I can now use them in recipes with absolutely no problem--I still can't eat them plain, as in scrambled eggs--although my reaction to...
  22. Since I follow a diet very close to the SCD, I've been doing a lot of reading on the subject of carbs as they relate to Celiac and leaky gut. The SCD diet was originally used for celiac Disease as well as other digestive ailments. The idea at the time was that healing from Celiac was impeded by all starches. It was later, in the 50's that a small study...
