  1. Well, I COULD sleep like a baby all night, if I wasn't at my best after 8:00 PM normally. Plus, I can't function (as in nervous breakdown) unless I get enough privacy and quiet time every day. Unfortunately, with a teenager (who loves to blast loud music and is a hyper kid, who never stops talking) and a 20-year-old (who isn't much better), and a husband...
  2. That's what my homeopath prescribed for an inflamed stomach before I figured out the celiac disease and had a chronically inflamed stomach, with horrible stomach pain, and it works like a charm for me. It looks like it works for lots of stuff other than what I use it for! Still, if it works, it works.
  3. You may want to remember that when spewing your negative and insulting comments in various threads around here. At least I remain polite and try hard not to offend people while giving my opinions. It would be nice if you would do the same.
  4. If you would actually have read down all the way of the article, you would have found this about saline implants: Making them no safer than the rest. Now, if you don't like Dr. Mercola, I could find you a thousand other sources that say the same. Dr. Mercola was just the easiest to find for me. Here are some other links then, if Dr. Mercola isn...
  5. Yep, I also get the kind of itching that drives me to the brink of insanity, and keeps me awake at night. I have had bloody stripes all over my back from scratching so much (with a wooden back scratcher).
  6. I use a homeopathic remedy name 'Sepia', which I get in the health food store. When I have severe stomach pain, I dissolve six of the little pills under my tongue (you can't touch them, they'll be contaminated by the oil on your skin if you do, you pour them into the lid and pour them onto the spot under your tongue). It usually works within a couple of minutes...
  7. I agree with Julie, that you are being rude here. I am a logical thinker, too, and I do understand the risks. But if I'd stop doing anything that could be risky, either for myself or others, I'd have to stop living altogether. Life is risky business. There are things I wouldn't do, like climbing a high mountain that has killed numerous people. That just...
  8. My bra size used to be a 38 A (big rib cage) while weighing 120 lb, being 5'6". It has always been a nightmare finding bras that fit. Now it is 42 B (down from a 44 B for many years). I just managed to buy myself some bras, after searching for two years, while the other bras were falling apart. Just in case anybody thinks I am being a hypocrite. I am just...
  9. Well, that's a hard question. Does celiac disease have anything to do with a nightshade intolerance? I don't know. What I do know is, that I am intolerant to nightshades, and so are two of my grandchildren. I don't think they have celiac disease, even though it might be too early to tell (they're three, and strangely, even though they are twins, they're a...
  10. I am glad we were able to encourage you.
  11. Mayam, I am glad your celiac disease is under control. But breast implants have been shown to trigger other autoimmune diseases as well. Since you're obviously prone to develop autoimmune diseases other than celiac disease already, are you sure you want to take the risk?
  12. I am aware that I was talking about emotional issues here. What I was trying to convey is simply, that when a mother is less than well, lots of love can make up for it. My mother had the same health issues as me, unfortunately, she was never diagnosed with celiac disease and never figured it out. She was miserable, and wanted to make everone around her miserable...
  13. It is your choice to look at life from a negative point of view, and to expect the worst. That doesn't mean the rest of us should do the same thing. The most important thing is love. If you manage to love your kids unconditionally, and they understand you do your best, they'll understand. Maybe not right away, but they will eventually. My kids now understand...
  14. Julie, your other autoimmune diseases are likely caused by undiagnosed celiac disease. It isn't the end of the world to pass celiac disease on to a kid. You would be very aware of that possibility, and wouldn't likely expose a child to gluten for quite a while, and then watch him/her closely for signs of it. You REALLY shouldn't worry about passing anything...
  15. Well, I was terribly sick with all my pregnancies, but that was because I didn't know I have celiac disease, and was eating gluten! So, my symptoms would just magnify during pregnancies. I guess it can go either way, it could make you feel better, or much worse. Since you are eating gluten free, and are not eating the other things you're intolerant to...
  16. Patti, I've read research that shows that tetanus shots make you MORE susceptible to getting tetanus, not less. And tetanus is easily avoided, anyway. The tetanus causing bacteria only thrive without oxygen. You wash and disinfect any open wound thoroughly before bandaging it, and the risk becomes so small, it is almost non-existent. And IF (a big if) you...
  17. My advice is, to avoid the vaccines, no matter which ones they are. Vaccines have never actually been proven to be safe and effective, long term effects have never been studied, and they don't help your immune system, but rather damage it. So, if it was me, I'd call back and say, "Thanks, but no thanks, keep your vaccines". But that is your choice,...
  18. Well, you won't have to worry about it in fluoride treatments, if you avoid the fluoride to begin with, which is a potent nerve toxin, and something to avoid at all cost to begin with. It has been linked to lower average intelligence in fluoridated communities, mottled teeth, autoimmune diseases, Alzheimers, thyroid problems like goiter and a host of other...
  19. I miss German sourdough bread more than anything else, and never being able to eat cake again. I am intolerant to every one of the flours that can be used to actually bake a cake. I might try a mix of buckwheat, arrowroot and ground hazelnuts, but I am not sure if it would rise (especially because I will have to make my own baking powder, I can't have cornstarch...
  20. Actually, it can last months, and I've never heard of anybody having the shingles for only two weeks. Mine took nearly three months, with awful pains. Fortunately, the pains went away then. With some people, they never go away. I took the antiviral medication (can't remember the name), and either the shingles or the med made the fibromyalgia so much worse...
  21. When a baby is intolerant to something (and it is possible your baby is gluten intolerant also), what the mother eats will matter greatly. It would be best if you would avoid gluten and dairy while breastfeeding. My oldest daughter had to stop eating nightshades while breastfeeding her twins, because they both have an intolerance to them. When she ate...
  22. Codetalker, I am glad you figured it out, finding what you're intolerant to can be soooooooooo tricky!
  23. There is no problem with weaning her cold turkey off the dairy and gluten (even though you might do it one at a time, so she won't freak on you). With the Wellbutrin you probably shouldn't do that, as she might have bad withdrawal symptoms. And since you can get withdrawal symptoms from stopping gluten, too, do one thing at a time. I suggest gluten first...
  24. Fabulous, keep up the good work! I am glad the diet is making that much of a difference.
  25. Jen, many people with celiac disease find that when they start out with the gluten free diet, especially the people who have been very sick, can't tolerate anything raw for a while, that includes fruits and veggies. I could only eat well cooked fruits and vegetables for over a month, some of them about three months. I am just starting (after seven months...
