  1. Please don't lick the windows :-) I'm sorry that you are still having brain fog...that's rough. Any ideas on why? I don't have that anymore. And my bloating and D have definitely reduced since cutting out carrageenan...it was in my almond and coconut milks and really hard on my system. My Vitamin D is within the normal range now...30.7. So...maybe...
  2. Lol Beth! I get so frazzled that I've written down questions and still don't ask. Sigh. What's good to ask? I seriously am in an almost meditative state by the time they call me in from all the deep breathing.
  3. Thanks Nicole...my first endo appointment ever is tomorrow. What do I ask? Obviously I want to talk about my free t3 being on the low side and reverse t3 being high. But what else? I have major Dr anxiety and have to sit in the waiting room doing deep breathing. A lot of times by the time I see the Dr I'm just ready to go and forget anything I want...
  4. Hi Pauliwog...what do you bake with? Since you're not doing grains do you do almond flour?
  5. Good tips Ruth...thanks for sharing!
  6. Hey Ruth...would you share the cc mistakes you were making in your kitchen? My kitchen is not 100% gluten free and I'd love to know ow what you did. Thanks!
  7. That's so great Ruth and so encouraging to hear! Thank you for sharing.
  8. Awww...Colleen...When you threaten me like that it makes me feel loved. :-) I don't live in Iceland anymore though so depending on where you are you might have to come up, down or over here to carry it out. I definitely find something good...amazing...In each day. My 3 kids that I love more than anything. Looking at their faces just fills me with love...
  9. Ah...patience...I'm missing that. I do get very impatient. I am doing a probiotic, gluten free, eating well, walking. The biggest stress for me is this stuff.
  10. Thanks Gemini...This is the best place to come for kindness and wisdom in dealing with these issues.
  11. You are very wise Gemini...I certainly under estimated how long it would take. I'm impatient and always searching for answers, clues...anything to help.
  12. Did you do this? Cut all grains? Did anything else help? Thanks!
  13. I do still eat some grains...not a lot. Some rice though. I guess I could try rice free? You've mentioned before that you eat high protein, high fat? I think. Do you feel good on that? Do you feel like anything you did got your Hashi's stable or was it just thyroid meds? I basically eat meat, fruits and veggies...and I'm bored. LOL
  14. The more I read about AI diseases the more I read about healing your gut. I've been gluten free since January 23rd and things have improved a lot, but I still have some issues. I found out last week that I also have Hashimotos's...so now I'm in the multiple AI club...fun! Not. Seriously though, besides going gluten free did you do anything else that...
  15. Thanks so much for all the good thoughts and tips Colleen.
  16. I hear you Colleen. How do I keep them stable? I really want to. I'm gluten free...taking my thyroid meds...what else can help? I asked the PA yesterday and she just shrugged. Researching I've seen some evidence that selenium may help the thyroid work better. But I'd love other ideas.
  17. Hi Gemini...I'm on 112mcg of levothyroxine since mid July. Before that I was on 100. In 4 weeks my TSH went from 4.62 to 1.3. My cholesterol also improved a lot. LDL went from 115 to 80. But my Dr thinks it's not related. Lol. The PA I saw yesterday had never heard of reverse T3. Oh well. From what I've read I think when T4 isn't converting to T...
  18. I have eaten them without issues too...which is nice because I have issues with lots of things. Lol... Anyway...I second going back to basics...All whole foods. Keep a diary, see if there's a pattern in there.
  19. A lot of women in my family have thyroid problems...my mom, grandma, aunts, cousins...but no one with Hashis. Or maybe never tested for it. My mom never has been. But like I said I've been hypo for 14 years and this is the first time anyone has checked my antibodies. Do you do anything lifestyle wise for the Hashis? Food, exercise, supplements. I'm...
  20. Interesting this whole thing ya know? How all of this has to work together or you feel bad. Any thoughts on what to ask the endo? It's my first time seeing one ever.
  21. Thanks Colleen...I've actually been on thyroid meds for 14 years. My new Dr wanted to do the ultrasound and I asked for the full panel including antibodies after seeing my allergist. So...These levels are on medication. Just wondering if this has been contributing to my not feeling well over the past few months.
  22. Thanks Gemini...had my appointment. I apparently have a small nodule on the left side of my thyroid that they'd like to monitor for the next couple of years. That was it. Next Friday I see the endo. I want to make sure I ask the right questions. My lowish FT3...High reverse T3...The antibodies. What are the right questions? How do I get my thyroid...
  23. Hi again...finally got some antibody results. After 2 weeks of not getting results I finally called and it seems my blood was lost or results were lost. So I had to go back in and get redrawn. My TPOAb came in at 62 with a range of 0-34. Still waiting on the other one. Does this mean I have Hashis? This was taken after 6 weeks on a higher dose of my...
  24. Hi across...I want to send you a ((hug)) and let you know that you are not alone. I'm sorry that is happening to you. Seizures sound very scary. I'm eating only whole foods myself and it can be very depressing when I try so hard to do all of this right and still have issues. So...I get it. One thing to keep in mind is that you may not be getting glutened...
  25. I can't believe they didn't run a full panel...How frustrating! Are you thinking about having the do the rest of the bloodwork? You are doing so great hanging in there with all of this waiting. Please let us know how the biopsy goes.
