  1. Salmon, baked sweet potato and zucchini sautéed in coconut oil. This is my Friday go to dinner now. I haven't figured out a pizza that I love...Friday night used to be pizza night.
  2. Wow Nicole! That's cold! I just told my son that it's already 6F which means we've beaten our high from yesterday before 8 AM! Heat wave!
  3. Hi Ruth...I'm from Iceland but actually live in Colorado. This polar vortex thing really got us. Today the high was 5...but tomorrow we're expecting temps in the 30s.
  4. It's so good to hear from you Gemini. I really hope that today has you feeling better than yesterday. I know that you and I share a dislike of going to the Dr. And before I forget...if you ever decide to leave celiac.com...please leave a way to contact you! You have been such a kind and invaluable resource for me. Thanks It's so beyond cold...
  5. Oh man, it's cold out! This morning when I took the kids to school it was 3 degrees and -14 with the windchill. Brrr....
  6. I like it. Dr. Nicole. Have you had any issues with Armour? My endo mentioned not liking Armour, but that he would prescribe it. I just don't know. I want to feel good...is that too much to ask?? LOL!
  7. Hi Gemini and (((hugs)))!!!! Long time no "see"...hope you've been well. I completely agree with you and Nicole...when I saw my FT3 # had gone down even further and it was already low, I was seriously bummed. I'm no expert, that's what I rely on you all for...but from what I've read, low FT3 equals fair falling out, being cold and overall feeling cruddy...
  8. We are expecting a high of 8 degrees today...yes, that's 8 degrees Fahrenheit! So...I'm making a crock pot roast with veggies, mashed potatoes and corn bread. Going to try to stay warm!
  9. Lol Nicole! I know...that FT3 is really low. I was bummed. The first set of numbers I was on 112. I'm fairly sure my endo will want to reduce my meds not increase them. I really wish that T3 had worked for me. I'm not sure what to think about Armour or anything else with T3 since I had such issues before. Previously he had mentioned going to the compounding...
  10. Hey all...I'm hoping I can get some thyroid experts to analyze my latest bloodwork. Had this done on Friday and will be seeing the endo in 3 days. I also asked to have my iron checked because I'm always cold, losing hair and tired and thought it could be that or thyroid. Any advice is always appreciated. The good news is that my D is slowly creeping...
  11. Every year our family goes to Denver to watch the parade of lights and we love it. We always stop on the way and get pizza and before the parade get hot chocolate. Does anyone know of safe places to eat gluten free in Denver for a family of 5...including a 3 year old? Thanks!
  12. Thinking about giving up chocolate makes me want to cry...
  13. Pizza sounds so good. Really good pizza...New York style. Yum...nowhere to get good gluten free pizza around here either. Sigh. For dinner...Pork Milanese, tossed salad, roasted acorn squash.
  14. My first 3 months gluten free I felt so much better and then I felt worse...specifically GI symptoms. At 6 months gluten free I gave up dairy, soy and legumes. I've definitely seen improvements...but I have no idea which helped me since I stopped all of them at the same time. Soy free is hard though...soy is in everything! At Halloween there wasn...
  15. We're having a chilly day...In the 40's with rain possible. So...I'm making a mini meatball and vegetable soup and corn bread to warm us up.
  16. Good job Nicole! Quitting sugar is hard...it does give you that headache. Ugh. I'm curious about the coconut cream you use in your coffee. I went to Whole Foods looking for some for a recipe and they didn't have any. Can you share what you use? I'd like to get some for my coffee too. Thanks!
  17. Congratulations on your anniversary! Maybe next year you'll be avoiding less things (I hope I am) and can celebrate that as well. Here's to your continued healing...may the coming year be filled with good health and happy memories!
  18. Hi Megan...sounds tough. I know that in the months leading up to my diagnosis I would wake up and have to run to the bathroom to have D. And that's such a bad feeling. ((Hugs)) to you. Have you had any celiac testing done? If not I would request that. A full celiac panel plus a thyroid panel for sure. It certainly sounds like it could be that. Push...
  19. It can certainly be a long, rough road. I've given up dairy, soy, legumes, grains, coffee and alcohol. All in trying to heal. I'm so tired of meat, fruits and veggies. I don't know when I can get things back...If I can. I just keep trying...what else can we do? Best wishes to you...I hope that you will continue to feel better and feel less frustrated...
  20. I may try those. Currently I take Digestive Advantage, but I can't tell if they make a difference or not.
  21. That's great Dee! Always nice when you figure out something that works! What kind of enzymes do you take?
  22. Oh wow...what the heck? Why wouldn't he take a biopsy? I'm so frustrated for you! ((Hugs)) Can you go back to your GP and request/demand full celiac and thyroid panels? It definitely seems like you need both run. Your GP should be concerned about such a significant weight loss in this amount of time. I'm so sorry this happened to you...A lot of...
  23. That sounds awful... ((hugs)). I hate not being able to sleep. A couple of things...what time are you going to sleep? If it's on the early side maybe moving it back an hour would help. Have you had your thyroid checked? I had this happen to me recently when I went hyper. I'd go to sleep fine and then wake up between 3 and 4 and not be able to go...
  24. That thyroid! Mine has been up and down in the past few months and I hate it! Hopefully you can get the blood work done quickly and get your medication changed so that if it's thyroid you start feeling better quickly!
  25. Very cool...I look forward to your updates!
