ARCHIVED Tingling, Buzzing And Twitching
icelandgirl replied to cristiana's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
If you do that I shall change mine to alwayssomethingtoo. Because that's what it feels like! I do think getting the levels checked is a smart idea. If they're low you know that supplementing can help. I get very annoyed with my tingling when it becomes pronounced...it can be hard to ignore. -
ARCHIVED Tingling, Buzzing And Twitching
icelandgirl replied to cristiana's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Hi Cristiana, I think that stress and anxiety can bring out our physical ailments or make the existing ones worse. That's been my experience at least. I have also had tingling in my feet, toes and fingers. I always wonder if it has something to do with my thyroid because that thing is having issues. Have you had your b12 and ferritin levels checked... -
ARCHIVED First Confirmed Glutening
icelandgirl replied to C-Girl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hello and (((hugs))) It sounds awful. The 2 times I've been glutened were from restaurants and it took me about 2 weeks to recover. It's terrible. I now only eat out at the one gluten free restaurant we have. Other than that I do a whole lot of cooking. I'm a stay at home mom of 3 and can't be out for 2 weeks. For me...I wouldn't go back...I got... -

It looks like progress has been made! I just read that the 1 minute commercial has been pulled, but there are still 2 left. 1 is 30 seconds, 1 is 2 minutes. If you haven't sent this to the people that love you that watched your body falling apart due to this disease, please do it. I'd love to see this while thing get pulled. -
ARCHIVED Hormones, Hashi's And Celiac- How Does This All Work Together?
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thank you ladies! This is why I prefer to go to the medical offices of Dr's Nic and Gem...they are so helpful, knowledgeable and kind. I actually went hyper a few months ago and didn't like it. My TSH was .72, but my hands were shaking constantly...could not hold a book still enough to read it...my anxiety went way up and I had a hard time sleeping....- 144 replies

ARCHIVED Hormones, Hashi's And Celiac- How Does This All Work Together?
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Thanks Dr Nicole! Thyroid problems stink! Previously we did generic cytomel. First 5 mcg, then 2.5...by cutting it in half. With both I had this uncomfortable chest tightness and D. They don't make a smaller dose than 5 therefore the compounding pharmacy thought. Obviously my body doesn't convert from T4 to T3 as it should so I agree I need some...- 144 replies

ARCHIVED Hormones, Hashi's And Celiac- How Does This All Work Together?
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I'm so frustrated with thyroid stuff...just got my lab results from last week. TSH 2.62 (.45-4.5) Free T3 1.8 (2.0-4.4) Free T4 1.34 (.82-1.77) The only thing that's been changed is that in November my endo switched me to brand name Levoxyl instead of generic. I don't understand why my free T3 is going down. In August it was at 2.2, in November...- 144 replies

I was just thinking about that...good timing! I'm thinking about asking the hubs and each of the kids to pick one thing that they really want to have and use that as a starting point. Your chicken sounds great! I'll be watching this thread for more ideas. -
ARCHIVED Fodmaps...does Anyone Follow This Eating Plan.
icelandgirl replied to icelandgirl's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Wow...thanks Cristiana! That's good to hear. Looking at the list I've largely been eating low FODMAPS...but when I look over the weekend I had a few other things that were on the high side and then I think the Brussels sprouts took me over the edge. Thanks so much for sharing that! -
ARCHIVED Fodmaps...does Anyone Follow This Eating Plan.
icelandgirl posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm beginning to suspect that I may have an issue with high FODMAPS foods after a run in I had with Brussel sprouts this weekend. It caused tremendous gas, bloating, some pain and of course D...my favorite(not). I had the same type of reaction when I tried broccoli, cauliflower and watermelon. All are also high FODMAPS. I realize it could be something... -

I was worried about the gut issues as well. I saw a bread in there that looked great until I saw that it called for oat flour...well I can't do that unless I want to be in pain...so, anyway...The pancakes were good. If you make anything from the book, please report back! -

The What's For Dinner Tonight Chat
icelandgirl replied to jess-gf's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Hi! I received this as a birthday present. So far I've only made the pancakes...which were great. I used King Arthur AP for that. I do not like the taste of Bob's and I've been intimidated by the psyllium husk powder as well so I figured I'd chime in. -
ARCHIVED Fixing My Vitamin D Levels
icelandgirl replied to MycasMommy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm sorry...that sounds frustrating! I had my last baby 2 months before I turned 40 so you have time! Do you know what your levels are now and what they were previously? It would be good to know that to see if there is at least improvement. I know that it takes a while for vitamin D levels to go up. I believe mine went up 3 points in 4 months. I'm... -
