  1. That's wonderful Ruth! Did it take until now to get to that point?
  2. I really hope that does it for you! I'm trying to get my ferritin and vitamin D up...hoping that helps too!
  3. Hi havanesemom and thanks for your nice response! Don't get me wrong...I feel much better than I did...but it has in no way been that quick fix my Dr suggested it would be. I'm hoping to continue improving with time. The Hashimotos has set me back for sure. My thyroid functioning has gotten worse in the past few months and the thyroid affects everything...
  4. Ditto on what Dr. Nicole said. She knows more about the thyroid than anyone...for real! Most Dr's will test just TSH or TSH plus free T4. Neither of those will indicate Hashimotos and also won't tell the full story of how your thyroid is doing. You need free T3 for that. Bring the list of tests to your Dr. Best wishes and let us know how it goes...
  5. Tonight will be baked chicken parmesan, pasta, garlic bread and some sort of veggie. I need to make breadcrumbs and bake bread today...hoping this all gets done!
  6. Congratulations! How fun for all of you!
  7. ((((Hugs)))) Fran and Colleen.
  8. Lol Nicole! I guess I'm largely normal now. Go me! Before seeing this I would have called 6 a D...and now I feel even more normal.
  9. Taco night tonight...Some rice to go with.
  10. Aww mycasmom... (((hugs))). Finding this board has been great for me too...I totally get it. It helps talking with others who really get what you are dealing with. It's really good to hear how well you are doing!
  11. Hi Nicole...I'm not ever sure if my issues are related to many years undiagnosed celiac or many years of undertreated thyroid stuff or maybe something else altogether. It is for sure frustrating.
  12. Hi Colleen...I completely agree...it's individual. But it's really interesting to hear people's experiences too. I also understand how things going to s$#& gets going fast. If you want to share more...Please do. It's good for us all to hear how this disease affects others.
  13. How exciting! Definitely going to be trying that!
  14. That's ok. I'm just dairy light. I've been dabbling in a bit of dairy and it's been great. Everyone else in my house eats dairy too. Thanks!
  15. Mycasmom...will you be sharing the recipe? Sounds great. My husband is from Philly and a good cheesesteak has always been his fave.
  16. Laura...Please report back on the cinnamon rolls. They sound great. My kids would love it if I made them. I made gluten free chocolate donuts for Valentines Day breakfast and the looks on their faces were priceless. Tonight I'm having what has become my Friday night dinner...salmon, baked sweet potato and zucchini sautéed in coconut oil. Yum!
  17. Yum! How exciting! Enjoy!
  18. I have some of those and some tablets. Maybe I just need to take more. Thanks!
  19. w8in4dave...I'm sorry to hear that you don't feel better. That's so hard and discouraging (hugs). Has giving up your other intolerances helped? Hopefully supplementing your vitamin deficiencies will get things moving in the right direction.
  20. That's so great Bart! It gives me such hope too. Thanks for sharing. I've seen you sharing your excitement on other threads regarding getting more food back...so wonderful! Question for you...for Vitamin D...what do you take? Liquid or pill for? I've been taking 2000iu since July of a pill for of D3. Last check my level had only gone up 3 points...
  21. I know that we all recover at different rates...but I am wondering how long it has taken people on here to get to the point of feeling great. If you haven't gotten to that point, how long since you were diagnosed and how far have you come? For me...I still have that hope of getting to feeling great. It's been 13 months since I was diagnosed. I walked...
  22. Has this resolved for you? I had a horrendous cold earlier this month. At the end I had horribly plugged ears...since that cleared I've had lightheadedness every day. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow. It is frustrating and anxiety producing. I've read about labyrinthitis which is an inner ear swelling that causes this type of thing and it often comes on...
  23. I do get this. It can be very scary to think about. I have celiac and Hashis. I think keeping inflammation down in your body can help keep you from getting other AI's. By staying gluten free you keep inflammation down. Take good care of yourself and try not to worry...The worrying is the worst. I tend to do this myself. Try not to dwell on it. Be thankful...
